| Posted: 17 Apr 2021 10:52 AM PDT UPDATE: thanks to u/t171 for the reminder that I needed to put more effort when it comes to ejecting the sim card. Although to be fair the strength I needed to add for it to open was more than any other phones I've had. Anyway I was able to look up the number after putting the sim card using my old android since I got it from Samsung and not a carrier. Looked up the phone number and after awhile it looks like I found who it belongs to! Social media also matches the couple in the locked screen. Thanks guys! I've been trying to contact them Hi there. I'm not sure where to post but my dad is a ride share driver in the bayarea and he found an iPhone in his car that was left behind. He's an old forgetful man and it has been sitting under a pile of mail until he recently told me about it and asked how can we find the owner. I've checked the ride share app and it doesn't seem like anyone ever tried to contact him about it. I've tried everything the internet has recommended for a locked phone like checking if any emergency contact or information is available but no luck. The carrier is version but I haven't heard good stories about returning it to them (although I will if Reddit can't help), i just wanted to give it back to the owner if there are any sentimental pictures on it. There is a picture of what assumes to be a couple on the Lock Screen but I'm not sure to post due to privacy concerns or where I can post. Edit: I just want to add the methods I have already tried due to the suggestions and internet research. -Asking Siri (not available) -Checking sim card (not accessible) -Connecting to computer (was only able to get serial number, no MEID found) -Emergency contacts or ID (not available) -Leaving the phone charged All I have is the Lock Screen with a picture of a couple that needs a 6 digit passcode. I've decided to leave the phone on to see if anything shows up, so far just a notification for some mobile game. It says LTE on the top right corner so I assume it's still in service ?
