    I'm so tired of downloading apps that say they're free but then once you download them they require a subscription. I feel like it's false advertising, and needs to be more clear in the App Store before you take the step to download it.

    Tip: On the app update screen, if you swipe left on an app waiting for update, you can delete it right from there. Great for annoying apps with bothersome updates

    Could airtag technology be integrated into the next iPhone?

    Currently as soon as the iPhone is turned off or loses internet connection it's basically untraceable if it's lost or stolen.

    Airtags don't use so much power and could be integrated so that they're still active once the phone is turned off.

    If Apple can integrate the technology into its new iPhone it would be game changing and could make stolen iPhones a thing of the past (Or at least extremely risky to the thief)

    i recently upgraded to the iphone 12 and tranferred all my stuff from my old phone to the 12 successfully. before upgrading i could see all my photos and vids in icloud.com, photos and videos that go back years, but now theyre all gone, they dont show up in the website (icloud.com). currently i have like 500 hundred pics in my gallery (ive been keeping it like that), but in my cloud there were 35,000+ pics and vids. i had just what i needed on my phone and in the website there was everything ive ever had just in case. i cant lose my 35,000+ media so anyone that can help please itd be greatly appreciated

    Idea: Magsafe wallet in "find my"

    My AirTags arrived, and I was thinking about how useful it would be to check the last known location of the leather magsafe wallet too. (Already forgot mine at my moms place a couple of months ago, so I know it would definitely come in handy.). Now, I know the wallet does not have bluetooth or UW (obviously), but considering they have an NFC tag and the iPhone knows that it is in fact a wallet, it could update the location every time the wallet gets (dis)connected from the iPhone, using the iPhone's GPS. What do you think?

    Lots of bugs with Podcasts app on iOS 14.5

    I was listening to a new podcast yesterday, paused it through my airpods when I was going in to get a coffee, squeezed to play again when I left and it played an episode of a different podcast I was listening to the day before. Went on the app, found the episode I was listening to again and it didn't even have a timestamp of where I got to.

    The app isn't picking up any new episodes I listen to on "recently played". It's not saving any time stamps for where I got to on episodes BUT issues are only with the new podcast I started listening to. It works fine for any other podcasts that I listen to. It's really frustrating because I rarely have time to listen to a full episode in one go.

    iMessage and FaceTime say "Waiting for Activation"

    Hi, I have an iPhone XR and today I opened the iMessage App and it gave me an error saying that it couldn't sign in or something along those lines. When I went into the settings to see if I could fix the issue, both my iMessage and FaceTime say "Waiting for Activation". I went through the troubleshooting steps on Apple's website and it's still not working. I tried to check for updates and it says "Unable to Check for Update". My phone was already activated and SMS is already functioning so I don't know what the issue is. Can anyone help me?

    iPhone 12 Pro Max dying way faster after updating to iOS 14.5

    Before upgrading to the current iOS version, my phone would discharge between 0-3% overnight. Now, it discharges 10% in 4 hours (overnight), without using it at all, on WiFi, no app running on the background, and no Bluetooth or LTE on.

    Besides that, my phone would discharge around 30% with heavy use in 4 hours. Now it's dying 20% in an hour.

    Is anyone experiencing this issue?

    imessage not working

    Hello, I have the annoying imessage not working problem.

    When I send an imessage, the message is sent using an apple id email address and not my phone number. I tried to do every possible solution that appears on the net but without success. I have a concern that my phone number is linked to more than one apple id account, which creates the problem. I talked to Apple, and they have no idea what I'm talking about. I talked to the cellular company, and for them everything is fine. Inside settings - imessage - there is currently a blue v below the email address, and on the number itself there is a gray gear that keeps turning. I tried resetting network settings, full reset, but nothing helps.

    If indeed my phone number is linked to more than one apple id account, how can I undo it and connect it to only one account?

    I would be happy for any assistance possible.

    I normally don't pay a lot of attention to posts around battery drain after updates because in my experience it's always been minimal and many times is just a reverse placebo effect.

    This time though my phone's battery is going down fast (~10% in 30 mins without touching the phone) and it all started to happen after the latest update.

    I'm using the new "unlock phone with Apple Watch" feature. Do you think it can be becáis of that (in which case it would suck)? Are you experiencing similar issues?

    Safari cookie notice banner doesn't disappear

    Hi guys,
    since several months I'm facing a problem when browsing via Safari on my iPhone X.
    inb4: The update to iOS 14.5 didn't fix it.

    In Germany/EU it's mandatory for most of the website to display a cookie notice when accessing a website. One has either to accept all cookies or select/unselect certain cookies.
    Most of the time, this cookie notice is like a banner which lies on top of the website, one has to interact with it, otherwise one can't interact with the website.

    My problem is that when accepting the cookies via e.g. clicking at "Accept all cookies" the banner doesn't disappear, it's stuck and I still can't access the website.
    Tried the same thing with the iPhone 11 Pro Max of a fried of mine, he doesn't face this problem.

    Do you happen to have any idea what could mitigate this problem?
    When I open the same page via e.g. Chrome, it works.
    Already deleted all my browsing data from Safari, no change at all.

    Some music not showing as synced to phone from iTunes

    I have my phone plugged in and connected to iTunes on windows. I am looking at the music on my phone and some of the songs are greyed out.

    Pretty sure it's set to sync all music… yet of the 4136 songs in my library, only 4034 are on the phone.

    Any idea why some would be greyed out and not on my 64gb X-ray which still has plenty of space?

    Using satnav and Radarbot simultaneously on iPhone 11

    Recently bought Radarbot from App Store Italia. Works well but I can"t figure out how to run it simultaneously with my satnav app, Sygic, rather than with its default setting of Google Maps which eats up data. Would be very grateful for any tips.

    Create blank app icons for Home Screen. No Jailbreak and no time limit set by iempty

    Things you'll need: A screenshot of an empty Home Screen. To do this: Enter wiggle mode by long pressing on any app, and choose edit Home Screen. Then scroll over until you see a blank app page. Then press either the home and power button, (iPhone 8 and lower) or side and volume up button (iPhone X and later.) to take a screenshot.

    The go to iEmpty

    (You will see why we need this, we will not be using it's generated icon in the long term)

    Then choose the "add empty icons" button.

    Then tap the big blue "choose file" button and then upload the screenshot of your blank Home Screen.

    Then click the green "send" button.

    Then scroll down to options and choose bookmark by tapping it so it's blue.

    Then on the picture of your Home Screen with the white icons over it, choose the icon you'd like to make blank. (You can only do 3 at a time)

    Then click "add # icons".

    (At this point you may be wondering, "why can't I just use this icon?" You can, but it will time out after a while. This method won't.)

    Now when you get to the icon installation page don't install that icon, instead screenshot that page.

    Then after you take the screenshot you will want to locate it in your photos and tap on it. (Don't use the screenshot editing tool, it is garbage and inaccurate for cropping)

    Then once you are viewing a full screen image of your screen shot, tap edit, then tap the square with curvey arrows. You are now in crop mode. Now you need to crop the icon out of the screenshot.

    Make sure when cropping you get it as exact as possible, or the icon won't look right. (You can ignore the square corners this icon has, the next steps will crop them off.)

    After it is cropped out of that webpage, click done.

    Now you need to open the shortcuts app. If you don't have this, you can download it from the AppStore. If you can't, then your iOS version is too old. Either update your phone, and if you can't, then this won't work for you.

    Once you have the shortcuts app open, press the plus button, then press add action.

    Then search for "Open App". You will find it in the "Actions"section of the search result. Then tap on it.

    Then tap choose.

    Now you need to choose an app you don't care all that much about, or whose icon you don't care about seeing.

    Then tap the 3 dots.

    Then tap add to Home Screen.

    Then tap the blank icon next to the "New Shortcut" text. Then tap "choose photo".

    Then select the blank app icon you cropped.

    Then tap add.

    Then tap done. As you can see the square corners are gone.

    Then tap "cancel". And then tap "save shortcut"

    Give it any name, it doesn't matter.

    You should now have a blank app icon that you can use on your Home Screen. Unlike iempty this one won't time out, unless you pay iempty money. This is free and will work forever. It is a little tedious though. Ngl. Hope this helped!
