However, it would work plugged in so I'd been using it like a desktop. All of a sudden yesterday, it wouldn't turn on at all (plugged in). I've tried SMC reset to no avail. | Posted: 06 Mar 2021 08:42 PM PST A friend of mine just had to restore his phone and restore his Apple Watch due to a software glitch and after he did that he used his iPad to setup his phone. We shared our Apple Watch activity together again but now when I reply to his exercises they send to his iPad instead of sending to his phone like they used to. I'm assuming this has something to do with his email being used for iMessage on his iPad and the fact that his iPad was used for setting up his phone. Is there anyway I can switch them so they send to his phone instead of his iPad. [link] [comments]  |

I have found a very old iPod touch device with some very valuable memories on it I wish to retrieve. However, I do not remember the passcode. I do believe I could guess the passcode if given enough tries, but since there's a limit of 10 failed attempts and I have already used 9 of them, I am out of luck there. I do not recall backing up this device. I took it to the Apple store and they told me they can't unlock it and I have to reset the device completely, erasing all of the data. I have googled this issue for months now to no avail. It is becoming extremely frustrating. There are many many sites that claim they can retrieve data from a locked iPod touch however I do not know which sites I can trust and worry they are all scams. I find it hard to believe that all of my data is completely unreachable by anyone what so ever. However it is beginning to appear like the device is a lost cause and I am just wasting my time. I was wondering if anyone at all has any idea if this is possible? Or if there is any way to continue guessing your passcode after 10 guesses. Thank you [link] [comments]  |

Disconnected and reconnected to my iCloud account. Nothing works. Are these two photos lost forever? Or is there something to do to recover them? So I'm logged into a family iCloud account and I know every time I download an app that's not already on iCloud, it shows up in the iCloud app download history. The problem lies with old software that is no longer available (Adobe Fireworks). I need to factory reset and only need that single software. I'm not sure what to do and afraid to "try" anything because I could end up losing that software for good. | What is a process I can use for cleaning out files I don't need? Posted: 06 Mar 2021 11:47 AM PST When I go into my Finder, I get so lost and I'm not sure exactly where the files are that I want to find. Files I'd expect to be under "This week" or "Today" aren't, and Downloads doesn't seem to have all of them. When I try to find the biggest files by putting Size, the folders containing big files show "---" so I have to go through each and every folder to find the big files. Is there just some step by step process that can show me where to look and how to find easily (I'm a nube... even though I've worked with computers so long...) Thank you [link] [comments]  |

Could waking my device just mean that I opened up my laptop lid first thing in the morning and I just looked at the login screen but didn't login. I received a replacement around two weeks ago and this one already unbelievably split. They weren't misused in any way, so I'm surprised at how weak they are. My roommate can get me a non-Apple brand braided USB-C to USB-C cord from their workplace. I am wondering if it will be okay for the laptop - I had a knockoff charger for my 2015 Macbook Pro and that led to its demise. But, I can't believe I've gone through two cords and would like to use something stronger if possible. Should I avoid doing so and stick with the flimsy Apple cords? [link] [comments]  |

| Unable to change Apple ID back to original Apple ID Posted: 06 Mar 2021 05:53 PM PST Hello, I have an interesting dilemma and could use your help. Originally I created my Apple account with a new iCloud email a few years ago. Within the past week, I changed my Apple ID from that iCloud email to a third-party email. After a few days, I decided I wanted to go back to having my primary Apple ID be my original iCloud email. Here's the problem... When I go to manage my Apple ID on Apple's website, I can still login with my iCloud email, and it's still listed in my "Reachable at" section, but when I try to change it to become my Apple ID I'm left with this message: "This email address cannot be used as an Apple ID at this time. " I'm also unable to remove the iCloud email or the third-party email from my Reachable at section. they just have ?'s next to them instead of X's. When I hover over the ? for my iCloud email it says, "This is an alias of your Apple ID email address" I've texted Apple support and they showed me some articles, and I was referred to a specialist on the phone, but he said that it wasn't possible. However, I wonder based on this article: Change your Apple ID - Apple Support "If you try to change your Apple ID to an icloud.com email address that was created within the last 30 days, you will be asked to try again later. " Perhaps my old iCloud email is being treated as a new iCloud email for some reason? Do you think I just need to wait 30 days to find out if it's possible to change it back? It seems implausible that there's no way to go back to using my original email as my Apple ID. Even though it's mostly functionally the same, I'm still receiving Apple emails to my no-longer-wanted third-party email.
