| In general, how has the M1 Mac been for most users? Is it possibly worth the switch from Windows? Posted: 06 Feb 2021 09:59 PM PST I'm mostly a Windows guy and have been using my trusty Thinkpad for a few years now. But in the limited experience I do have in using MacOS, I thought it was pretty dope. I had to use Premiere for a video editing class I took in college and my campus' computer lab had iMac's in them. Definitely a strange UI experience at first but I enjoyed it nonetheless. As for using a MacBook, my brother did have one from 2012 he gave to me when he graduated that I didn't really use beyond web browsing and some schoolwork like essays presentations. But I've been considering making the switch to Mac for some time now. There's just something about the way Mac looks and operates that looks so attractive to me. And it seems like it just works right out of the box and requires little time to do updates instead of sometimes sitting for a half hour or longer when getting a new Windows laptop. Though if I'm being honest, I won't need a MacBook for video editing. I don't do really do that but I know it's what a lot of people use them for. Just wanted to hear your thoughts. Last Excel class I ever took was years ago in college and it was just basic, input numbers, columns, rows, etc. I'd like to find a fairly through class on how to use Numbers, for free, I've found several places to take paid classes but it's a crap shoot on if they are decent or repetitive of what's offered elsewhere. I feel like for an i9 CPU on a 16" 2020 MacBook Pro should be much faster. I easily download other files near full speed. Does Apple just have shit CDN or something? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Copying / transferring email folder from previous Mac Posted: 07 Feb 2021 01:38 AM PST Hi everyone, I searched for a solution in this forum but was unfortunately unsuccessful. My problem is: I have a fairly old MacBook and newer iMac which I bought only a couple months ago. I would like to transfer all of my emails from the old Macbook (+12years) to the new iMac without losing my accounts on the new iMac (I added a new email address since getting the iMac) I know of 2 options: A) preferences —> copy mail folder —> preferences new Mac B) Export my inbox and transfer it to the new Mac. I'm trying to find a way to make an activation-type automation for this but all google searches just give me stuff about CD drives making noise. Any help appreciated. As far as I know M1 natively supports ARM apps and developers should only need to click a button to release them on M1 mobile AppStore. What made their choice to not release them?
