| Posted: 05 Feb 2021 10:13 PM PST Hey everybody, I've been fighting this issue for over a year and a half now, and I'm so stumped on how to fix it. I have an iPhone XR that is giving me terrible Bluetooth reliability when in my house. I understand that Bluetooth interference is super common in households with lots of Bluetooth devices, but everybody else in my household, (with iPhones ranging from 6s-11 pro) have NO issues whatsoever! The Bluetooth connection is flawless when I leave my home, but when at home, it sucks, and the only way to fix it for about 5-10 minutes is to go into settings and turn the Bluetooth on and off again. The Bluetooth connection doesn't break between devices, but the audio gets very spotty or stops altogether. I was thinking it could be interfering with my MacBook Pro, but it still does not fix the issue when turning off the connection. The most common devices I use with my iPhone are AirPod pros, and a sound bar. If anybody has any insight on how to prevent or solve this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. So I set a contact picture for my friend in my contacts app, and every single contact in my phone has been assigned his picture now except for the ones that I previously had set up different contact pictures for. Now when my dad calls me, I get my friends picture lmao. I'm not sure if this was a mistake on my behalf or my phone's. Please help me sort this out :). [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 05 Feb 2021 01:17 PM PST Alright, my dad has two names, one of them he doesnt use anymore, but he says whenever someone saves their contact on iPhone, it saves it as his other name which he hasnt even set as. | 6s battery draining really fast Posted: 05 Feb 2021 03:24 PM PST I bought a used 6s that was in mint condition and 97% battery health. I'm using iOS 14.4. The battery drains really fast. Like 1% a minute (or less) from just browsing around or opening an app. I made one short call and it was down 2%. I use the dimmest screen light setting, and I'm even using low power mode. Posted: 05 Feb 2021 12:49 PM PST I have friends who send three or four text messages in a row, which isn't a problem. The problem is when you have three or four of these friends sending 4 - 5 messags in a row. Your apple watch is buzzing all the time when you're trying to get stuff done and it's fucking annoying. I was wondering if there's a method to only get one notifcation when someone texts you, instead of getting a notification for every follow up message (especially on WhatsApp) in a give time frame. | Posted: 05 Feb 2021 06:08 PM PST So I'm a bit stuck, I recently stepped on my iPhone 7 that already had a single crack through the whole thing and it made a quiet but bad noise. I see that it looks fine but the top 1/3 of the touchscreen is unresponsive. I'm wondering what the best course of action is, hard restarting hasn't worked, should I unplug/replug the battery? try to push the screen connectors back into place? | My Live Photo wallpaper doesn’t work Posted: 05 Feb 2021 05:08 PM PST I took a Live Photo today and set it as the wallpaper for my Lock Screen. | Unable to select “messages” specifically when sharing a screen shot. iPhone se (2020) 14.4 Posted: 05 Feb 2021 01:37 PM PST Phone: iPhoneSE 2020 model iOS: 14.4 Carrier: Verizon Any time I take a screen shot, I press the share button and have the ability to send it via air drop, hangouts, signal, email etc. However I can never share a screen shot directly to the messages app. If I save the screen shot to my photo album, switch apps to Photos and use that "share" button, the messages icon shows up there as expected. I have tried rebooting the phone, updating iOS to latest, and checking for Device Management profiles (none exist). I also reset all settings from the general menu earlier today, which did not fix it. Any other things I should try? [link] [comments]  |

On my iPad though, if I open mail, it shows me the most recent email that I received in the full screen, and I have to back out of that to see what other new messages are there. I've tried searching Google and settings, but can't figure out why it won't default on my iPad to show me an overview of everything instead of starting inside of an email. | iPhone 11 WiFi speeds dropping after having been connected to second WiFi network Posted: 05 Feb 2021 11:13 AM PST I'd been noticing slow WiFi speeds (25-40Mbps) on a brand new modem and router setup, 5gHz band. Slow on my iPhone, anyways. iPad and MacBook always show good speeds. I reset the iPhone network settings and speeds immediately went up to expected level (~120Mbps), stayed consistent each time I tested until... I went to my dad's and connected his WiFi. Now that I'm back home, it's back to the slow speeds. Tested on my iPad and it registered the expected higher speeds. I also tested his while I was there and his were fine. I turned off private address as well, but it doesn't help. It's so weird, like my iPhone is disagreeable with having more than one WiFi in memory. I just reset the Network Settings and speeds are back up where they should be. I tried turning off WiFi, leaving it off for a bit, then reconnecting, and that didn't seem to affect it negatively. I don't get it. Is this a bug that anyone else has seen? Any ideas on what it could be? [link] [comments]  |

| Can’t log into icloud on my new iphone Posted: 05 Feb 2021 10:14 AM PST I am trying to log into my icloud mail account via the Google App. I tried the regular Mail app but I get a message saying something along the lines of 'you're already logged into your Apple ID go to x site for more information' however it keeps closing the app, both the regular mail app as well as the Google Mail app. Does anybody know what the problem might be? I can log into my icloud mail on laptop just fine with my password. It keeps telling me my password is wrong in the gmail app yet on the computer it works, so it's definitely the correct password. I tried logging out anc back into mu icloud on the phone, and I tried deleting and re-downloading the apps as well but keep getting this message. Help??? Pictures are here: [link] [comments]  |

| New iPhone XR setup iMessage not quite synced Posted: 05 Feb 2021 08:47 AM PST I upgraded from a 7 to a new XR and started setting up the XR a few days ago but didn't finish until today. Everything is setup and working as it should on the new XR now. The small problem is a few days of iMessage conversations that has happened in between is not showing up on the new XR. | iPhone 11 - Screen won't work - Firmware Issue and Can't Update/Restore Posted: 05 Feb 2021 08:13 AM PST Hello! Hoping someone can help me. My iPhone 11 touch screen has stopped working. I will add at the start here that my iphone screen does have a crack in it, was dropped in a bath (about a month ago) and the face rec doesn't work. Despite this, I have had no issues at all with the touch screen and there hasn't been one issue with the touch since the bath incident. Randomly, with no reasoning, the touch screen stopped working last night. Nothing would get it to work - including the hard reset. Then I plugged it into my mac and it started working again (this is why I don't think it is an issue with the screen itself). Everything was fine until today when it stopped working again while I was on my run. The screen feels like it is frozen - won't respond to touch. I tried to plug it into my mac again but nothing seems to work. I went to apple support and they suggested the restore/recovery route - doing the hard reset process, keeping the power button down and then waiting until it enters recovery mode. The problem is, the iTunes notices this but as soon as I go to update or even recover/restore, it downloads the latest ios and then pops up at the end 'This 'iPhone' could not be restored because the firmware file is not compatible. I have checked and my iTunes is up to date. I've tried every fix system under the sun but they all want £40-50 a month to access the area I need to - anyone know of any free programmes that work?
