| Posted: 10 Feb 2021 10:03 PM PST So my phone 11 max just randomly shut off the other day and wouldn't turn on. It was stuck in a "boot loop" for days. I'd do the volume up/down and power to get it to reset and just over and over again I did that and every now and then it'd actually power on normally and then after a minute or so it'd just cut out (battery was fine). After another day and me attempting to update the phone via my MacBook it is now stuck in the (support.apple.com/restore). it goes straight to that. And no more boot loop but now I'll just keep trying to update it and it'll say "could not be updated an unknown error has occurred". For many months my iPhone was not been backed up and I've been meaning to put the content on a hard drive to free up space. Restoring it I would lose all the content that isn't backed up which is a lot of really important pictures (photos of recently lost parent) so basically I'm looking for any way to get the phone up and running to extract this media. | Anyone else having issues with replacement Smart Battery Cases having a fluctuating charge? Posted: 10 Feb 2021 10:16 PM PST Long story short, I've had my Smart Battery case replaced due to the infamous issue of the charging port becoming loose. I got my replacement case for the replacement case in today and it's still showing the issue where it will go from 0%-77% and then as soon as it's unplugged it goes back to 0%. Needless to say I've reported the issue to Apple and have an appointment with a Senior Apple Advisor tomorrow, and we think it might be a iOS issue. Interestingly, it doesn't happen with my old case, only reason I replaced it was it had a few nicks and bits of the rubber missing. Has anyone else experienced this issue besides the aforementioned charging port issue? [link] [comments]  |

| need help regarding iPhone's dcim folder on windows �� Posted: 10 Feb 2021 07:29 PM PST hey reddit, i'm struggling to figure out the right combination of keywords to get google to understand me so i thought i'd toss a plea out into the universe and see if someone can help so i'm a mac user but my mom is a windows user, so naturally i'm getting frustrated trying to help her. i'm not super tech illiterate or anything but apple does not make it easy on windows users her phone is an iPhone 7S running iOS it started off with the usual "i would like to transfer my photos please" dilemma of a blank dcim folder. we went through a few steps to get anything to populate - following the advice to flip icloud back on and choose "download and keep originals", followed by my mom doing something with iCloud that prompted her to "disable and delete" and it says that her photos will be deleted in 30 days - which we did! we got things to populate in the dcim folder! however when i select all and inspect the properties, it says there's only 6,000 or so items in the dcim folder when her phone has 50,000 photos on it. more than that, when she copies what folders are in the dcim folder, once placed on her external drive the folders with the same name have inconsistent numbers. if APPLE117 or w/e has 800 photos in the dcim folder, once on her external drive it's got 500. it seemingly has dropped photos from phone to computer and now dcim to external drive. is this normal? is this an iPhone / apple thing or is it more of a her computer thing? I swipe up, it asks for my passcode, then to verify the passcode, but it only continues to stay disabled. I've attempted to wipe it from find my iphone, however that hasn't worked. I have an iPhone 6S, iOS 14.4 Early on I used my wife's App Store ID to download apps from the App store. I just wasn't familiar with the phone or Apple. At some point I setup my own id on the App store and downloaded apps that way. Now, I can't do an Update All from the App store cause iOS has remembered which id was used to get an app in the first place and wants me to login with my wife's App store id. If I go through the list of apps with pending updates, one by one, I can update some, others I can't. So is there a way to change the "ownership" of the apps I downloaded under my wife's id to my id? The issue I have is it will work for a few minutes and then the touch will stop again. I open the phone back up and without unplugging anything the touch will work again. What could the issue be? | iPhone 11 Pro Max not receiving Google code ONLY Posted: 10 Feb 2021 05:40 PM PST I'm locked out of my Google account and can't receive the verification code to get back in; I've spent 1 hr on phone with Apple, 1 hr on online chat with Apple, and 1 hr at AT&T store. I've re-set my phone 3 times--twice by restoring backup and once wiping it to "new" state. My phone receives other company codes but for the past weeks, NO codes from Google. Diagnostics don't show any apparent cause. Any ideas? I have much crucial content in my Gmail account and will do anything to get back into it. Dropped my iphone 6s in water and it either automatically turned off or is now broken. It was at 60% charge and "on" before being dropped. | Emergency - iPhone X (XR?) stuck in a boot loop Posted: 10 Feb 2021 04:35 PM PST My girlfriends phone which she needs for work and appointments tomorrow was running weird so she tried to shut it down and restart it. Now it is stuck in a loop of the white apple logo for about 2-3 minutes, then a black screen for about 30 seconds. I've tried force restarting and shut down, tried plugging into my PC and I can't get a single thing to work. I know nothing about iphones and literally any ideas that could help would be amazing. She is also at the point where she has next to no storage memory so I am wondering if it is trying to update and failing or something. edit: so nothing was working and the phone was so clogged up that it wouldnt update or turn on. ended up realizing all the photos were backed up to google photos, and contacts/app info were saved in the apple id log in. Those were the 2 biggest worries so we went ahead and factory restored the phone and things seem to be working just fine now. Thankfully no hardware damage I hope. [link] [comments]  |

I can see them just fine on my Apple Music app, but I want to be able to adjust playback speed, so wanted to access these "songs" on other apps. However, all the other apps I've downloaded says that I have no downloaded music, or nothing is in my library. I contacted Apple Support and tried absolutely everything but nothing worked. Ultimately, I made an appointment with an Apple technician and the guy told me that the "internal card" was apparently damaged and it has no solution. So basically, he told me my iPhone is damaged for good and have to throw it away. I am extremely upset that I made such a big investment in a new cellphone looking for durability and quality and less than two years later it suddenly stops working so I lost ALL of my money. Posted: 10 Feb 2021 01:34 PM PST But if I manually go through my Calendar, I can see all the missing old calendar events like from 2019 and earlier that its search didn't find. Why is that? Is search limited to specific dates or something? I don't see any options to show ALL?
