Apple TV Wow |
- Wow
- Anyone else really annoyed at the mess of confusion Apple has made of the use of “TV”? Between the TV App on Mac OS, TV App on IOS, TV App on Apple TV, what a complete *hit show trying to find help.
- Screen-casting Mac to Apple TV without mirroring
- Apple TV 4K and JBL 9.1 PCM / Dolby Surround DD+
- AppleTV 4th Gen always losing connection
- TV guidelines won't go away - just started this evening and the damn thing is stuck there in the corner. Super distracting. Checked menus and there's no option to disable. I'm not in parental mode.
- Trouble renewing a digital movie code
- Apps switching from English audio to Spanish randomly
- Using Stereo Paired HomePods as Apple TV Speakers causing mirroring lag
- ATV stopped showing 4:4:4 chroma

Posted: 03 Feb 2021 12:41 AM PST I upload content (shows) that I own to my phone (or watch them through my shared home library), and simply want to auto-play the next episode. Doesn't seem to be any way to do it. Every few months I check online but it's infuriating because it's impossible to even search for the app and device. A few years back each device had a uniquely named app at least. Listening to a particular show as I fall asleep is my sleep-med alternative but having to screw around with five or six clicks to find the next episode has ruined it all. [link] [comments]
Screen-casting Mac to Apple TV without mirroring Posted: 02 Feb 2021 08:13 PM PST Hi everyone, maybe I'm missing something obvious but whenever I broadcast my MacBook Pro's screen to my Apple TV, it never works as I expect. My laptop has an external monitor so I extend my display and therefore use two screens with my setup. When I try to share my screen to my HDTV via the Apple TV, nothing I do seems to preserve the existing two-monitor setup and allow me to share one of those two screens to the Apple TV. Oftentimes I display my screen on the Apple TV but then the MBP's internal screen and external monitor are mirrored. Is there a way to have the Apple TV mirror one of the two monitors of my choosing, but not interfere with the extended desktop arrangement and prevent my two computer screens from being mirrored? I'm on a 2020 MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina and an Apple TV HD running tvOS 14.4. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4K and JBL 9.1 PCM / Dolby Surround DD+ Posted: 02 Feb 2021 07:10 PM PST Why am I getting PCM on regular 5.1 movies using the Apple TV 4K and JBL 9.1? The settings are set on Auto and the Dolby Atmos movies play well on Netflix and Disney +...except when I change to a 5.1 movie the JBL displays PCM when it should read Dolby Surround DD+. AppleTV 4th Gen always losing connection Posted: 02 Feb 2021 06:20 PM PST I've had an on going issue with my ATV losing connection when the WiFi signal is strong. My other devices will be reading over 100mbps while my ATV will be reading at like 15mbps with a strong signal strength. I've read that others have had this issue, just wanted to know if they were able to get it resolved. I do the typical restart modem, router and ATV and streaming will work for about 20 minutes before tapping out again. I have the 3rd gen as well and never have issues with it. [link] [comments]

Trouble renewing a digital movie code Posted: 02 Feb 2021 12:22 PM PST I don't really know where to post this, but I have a movie that won't redeem. The other movies in the set will redeem to appleTV, but when I enter the code in movieredeem.com (the site the paper in the box told me to use, which worked for the other movies) the only option it gives me is VUDU. I made a movies anywhere account too cause I thought that would work but this is a lionsgate movie so it doesn't work. I'm wondering how I can get this onto my iTunes? Is it possible to just download it onto vudu since that's my only option then transfer it to my appletv acc? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Apps switching from English audio to Spanish randomly Posted: 02 Feb 2021 03:44 PM PST This has been happening a while now, but it seems to be becoming more frequent. We'll go to load a title and instead of the default English we'll wind up with Spanish audio. We can usually get it back to English but it's really quite annoying that it keeps changing. It's happened on continue watching tiles from the main screen. One example is Hulu show The Goldbergs. If I click to play the next episode from the main Apple screen it'll go to the Spanish version of the show, but if I go into Hulu and click continue watching from there the show will be in English. It's also happened with Netflix. I can be inside the app, going from show to show watching the trailers to see what we want to watch, and suddenly we're in Spanish when we were just in English. It's happened with a number of different apps at this point so I have no rhyme or reason why this keeps happening. I tried going into appletv settings and switching language from "default" to "English" thinking maybe it was sometimes auto selecting the wrong thing, but it's still happening. Anyone else had this type of issue? [link] [comments]
Using Stereo Paired HomePods as Apple TV Speakers causing mirroring lag Posted: 02 Feb 2021 01:48 PM PST Since I started using my Stereo paired HomePods as default audio output for my Apple TV 4K, I've noticed that mirroring from my iPhone to the TV has become quite laggy. When I switched back to TV speakers it started to work normally. I tried resetting the HomePods but that didn't solve the issue. Has anyone else experienced this? [link] [comments]
ATV stopped showing 4:4:4 chroma Posted: 02 Feb 2021 10:26 AM PST I have an ATV hooked up to Denon x2700h and an LG GX oled. I was getting 4:4:4 chroma before without issues. All of a sudden it now shows me only getting 4:2:2. I went to settings to change it and max is 4:2.2. Any idea what happened? [link] [comments] |
