| "What did they say" Siri command no longer works Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:18 PM PST Due to a combination of aging ears and the modern trend towards making music and effects drown out dialog, I find myself fairly dependent on the aTV's Siri "What did they say" command, where it rewinds a bit and turns on subtitles for a few seconds. But as of a few days ago, it no longer works. Instead Siri tells me "You'll have to try again in the app", which is nonsensical. I've observed this in the Apple TV app, Disney+, and HBOMax. (It may have also happened in Amazon Prime Video, but I am not sure.) Has anyone else seen this? [link] [comments]  | ||

Palmer was good but not amazing and Greyhound had great acting but lacked a story for me. Will appletv plus ever be good and worth it? What are some shows or movies you recommend? | Paired iPhone XR deleted in error... HELP PLEASE Posted: 08 Feb 2021 06:17 AM PST Hello All... I'm having the worst time trying to pair my iPhone XR to my Apple TV... It had originally been paired just fine, then a 'friend' fooling around in the Apple TV settings mistakenly 'unpaired' all devices... How in the world do I get Apple TV to allow me to pair up my iPhone again? On iPhone XR I go to the control center, select the 'remote' application, the remote application 'finds' my Apple TV but when I select the Apple TV nothing happens, obviously this is due to my iPhone no longer being paired to the Apple TV... When trying to pair to the Apple TV I am never given a four digit number to input and complete the pairing, what is the trick here I'm missing? I appreciate any help... Robbie [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 08 Feb 2021 03:50 PM PST I'm trying to rent a movie on the apple tv app on my Samsung TV. I signed in with my icloud account, and have added billing info. However, each time I try to rent, it tells me to go the itunes store and enter payment info? I have went to the apple store and entered it, but still no luck... Is itunes not linked with iCloud/apple billing info any more? Forgive my ignorance, have never owned a mac or an iphone but there is some stuff on apple tv I wouldn't mind renting. Posted: 08 Feb 2021 06:51 AM PST Racking my brain trying to figure out what's going on here, it's random and intermittent, and either happens repeatedly or once every few days. I'll be watching a show on Hulu, the screen will flash green, and then the AppleTV will reboot itself. I've tired restarting, unplugging, resetting firmware, upgrading firmware, etc. Is it a a bad unit? Bad HDMI cable (I've been using the HDMI cable supplied with my Nintendo Switch FWIW)? Any suggestions would be great to avoid a trip to the Apple store. [link] [comments]  | ||
