| Ditching major apps for iOS Safari only? Posted: 03 Feb 2021 07:50 PM PST Hi everyone, A few years ago, I began deleting bloated iPhone apps who's services could be accessed easily via Safari on iOS. The big ones here are Twitter, Facebook (now deleted permanently), YouTube (no ads when using Safari!), all my media readers (NYT etc). Honestly, once you get over some occasional clunkiness, it's hard to go back to ad-riddled, privacy violating and constantly updating apps that fluctuate wildly in size. The result here is that I rely on iOS Safari heavily in my daily iPhone usage. What does the community think of this? Would this strategy dramatically impact iPhone battery life, or be grossly inefficient generally? I figured that not using third-party apps where possible would be great for privacy (and ad blocking) - but am I overreacting in 2021, especially in light of Apple's recent app privacy push? Wondering if there's others out there doing the same, and keen for any thoughts/debate on the above. I'm sure iOS devs could chime in on how they regard the stock safari app in general - it doesn't get a whole lot of attention - very underrated IMO! [link] [comments]  | ||

I would like to use that function, but tbh it looks like a mess. I miss or do not see a possibility to look for specific stations and bookmark them. Anytime you delete a word, sentence or letter wherever the cursor ends up it automatically capitalizes the first letter you type, even if it's in the middle of a sentence. So annoying. | 14.4 removed “copy number” feature? Posted: 04 Feb 2021 06:58 AM PST It used to be that you could open the Phone app, tap on the "i" icon next to a missed call, then tap-and-hold on the displayed phone number to copy it. This was a very useful feature! But alas it's now gone missing in iOS 14.4 (or perhaps even 14.3). I do it hope it returns...manually typing a phone number from the missed calls list is annoying and tedious. Can anyone on 14.3 or earlier verify when this feature first went missing? Edit: note on 14.4 if you tap-and-hold above the number on the Caller ID name, then the "copy" option appears, but it only copies that name, not the number. A useless feature! [link] [comments]  | ||

| Question about Downtime and Safari Posted: 04 Feb 2021 03:33 AM PST I have Downtime enabled between 10 am and 6 pm for certain "distracting" apps. So I set the schedule under Screen Time > Downtime, then I choose the apps in question under Screen Time > Always Allowed. This works as intended except for Safari, which weirdly enough does not appear on the list of apps in "Always Allowed". So I don't have an option to make safari always allowed during 10 and 6. So now whenever I try to use safari, the app itself isn't blocked, however all the websites are blocked on Safari. So even if I press ignore limit for today, this only ignores it for that specific websites. So basically this renders Safari quite unusable during this period. I use also Brave browser, the same websites open without an issue on it. Any idea why this is happening or how this can be fixed? [link] [comments]  | ||

I came across an add where it was just like that I saw them digging away from a horde of enemies and spawning in some troops to try and defend and some turrets but as most of us know that ad is fake and has nothing to do with the actual game.
