How can I make sure my ID is completely logged out of a device? Posted: 26 Feb 2021 09:06 PM PST I recently logged my old ID out of my iTunes account. I plan on deleting it since I don't use it anymore. I know deleting an ID and still having it logged in to apps can cause trouble, is there any way I can check all my apps on my MacBook to make sure? I've checked everything I could and nothing's on there, but still, I want to be sure. [link] [comments] |
Can't login to AD account after Big Sur update Posted: 26 Feb 2021 07:05 PM PST Earlier today, her support folks told her that she should, and my spouse just updated her work 16" 2019 MBP to Big Sur. Her account is joined to an AD domain and she normally uses her work ID and password to login. After the update, it refuses to accept her password. We're connected to WiFi at home. Several suggestions online said to reboot into Recovery mode and delete the key file that makes macOS go through the base startup settings. I was able to do that and create a new local admin account (apparently FileVault is not enabled). We can login to that new account, but she can't login to the other account or use Fast User switching. After several failed attempts, it's now at the point where it says "wait an hour and try again" She is able to use her work credentials to login to their webmail, so the password is still enabled. Her work help desk is closed until Monday but she wanted to do some work over the weekend. Is there anything else we can try locally? [link] [comments] |

can apple remotely scan for a virus Posted: 26 Feb 2021 12:18 PM PST I was chatting/ using the chat text feature with an apple support guy and i mentioned some weird stuff and maybe a virus or malware or maybe something else and he said he could "remotely scan my laptop for malware". Is that a thing apple does? Like can they scan or run something from their end to see if your laptop has a virus or malware. I alway assumed you would have to go in person for something like that. Just curious because I know they can run basic diagnostics but I didnt know about anything like that [link] [comments] |
I sent my iPhone off for repair and it has been returned damaged Posted: 26 Feb 2021 09:32 PM PST I sent my phone off for a battery replacement (which they haven't done) and it was returned to me today. However, the phone has quite a large scratch across the screen which wasn't there when I sent it. I've contacted them and spoke to someone on the phone but they refused to repair it. They refuse to repair my screen which they broke. Surely they can't just expect me to accept they've damaged my phone. Not only is a scratch on the screen ugly to look at, but it will also affect the resale value of the device. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? [link] [comments] |
Unknown iPhone keeps connecting to my Macbook Air Posted: 26 Feb 2021 09:21 PM PST An iPhone keeps trying to connect to my Mac. It shows up with a 6-digit code and saying to put the code on the iPhone. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 05:34 PM PST Kinda, it shows that it's charging but doesn't actually charge, it will be on the charger all day and will stay at 4%. I've tried different chargers. I have iPhone X [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 09:15 PM PST Hi, I have a mid 2012 15" retina MacBook Pro 10,1 model a1398 and the app store stopped working many years ago so I forgot about it until now when I opened it and it works again. Therefore, I haven't updated OSX since 10.10.5. I've also forgotten my iTunes password and no longer have that email address. I didn't write down the secret answers so I don't know what I entered (I never answer secret questions correctly for security reasons). Can I just register a new Apple ID and sign in with it to update to Catalina (10.15)? I have no app store purchases in the current account and don't have any other Apple products. Will signing out and in with a new account clear the keychain or filevault keys or anything else I should be aware of? Thanks [link] [comments] |

What to do with maxed out Macbook Pro Touchbar 2016 w/ broken logicboard? Posted: 26 Feb 2021 08:20 PM PST I have a Macbook pro 2016 touchbar with a fan that stops working, and it just boots to Apple logo and gets stuck there everytime. I was just told by Apple that it will cost $1000+ to replace the logicboard.. I feel like that is just too expensive.. what should I be doing with this $4000 brick that I have with me... is there a cheaper alternative to fixing this? [link] [comments] |

No SIM card installed iPhone X Posted: 26 Feb 2021 01:50 PM PST Every now and then my service just completely drops out and says SOS only. I have to take the sim tray out and put it back in to get service again. This never happened on my old iPhone 7 but since getting a second hand 10 it happens from time to time. I've already tried resetting network settings etc and don't know what the problem could be. Sometimes a restart fixes it, other times it doesnt. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 03:51 PM PST After erasing the Macintosh HD & Macintosh HD Data drives, I reinstalled MacOS Big Sur on Macintosh HD Data and now there is a new drive called Macintosh HD Data - Data. Does this new drive mean anything? Should I delete anything or just leave it alone. So far I have not had any problems with it. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Feb 2021 01:17 PM PST I have a 2015 macbook air with catalina and i'm trying to use the album artwork screensaver. My sister had the computer before me and somehow set it as a picture of lana del rey, and i can't figure out how to change it to another picture / song. Any help? I haven't really been able to find anything online. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 03:25 PM PST My mom and I today recently upgraded from our iPhone X's to the iPhone 12 pro max, and we did the quick to transfer our data. Later on she noticed that only the first 100 or so of her photos were actually installed, and the rest are all just plain gray blanks. How do we get all of her photos back? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 12:50 PM PST Hi guys I've got a MacBook Pro 2012 and I've been having a issue where if I want to update it to the new software my laptop freezes just before it's about to be done then I can access my laptop at all. I've tried everything I think, I've taken it to my local apple store (they didn't solve it) I've tried rebooting into recovery mode, deleting stuff literally everything now am at a point where I'm ready to throw it out of the window, anyone got advice on what to do or any parts that could be faulty that I'd be able to buy and fix? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 12:48 PM PST So my 2017 MBP with touch-bar is having audio issues. It does not detect the output speakers and no audio comes from the aux port when headphones are inserted as well. I've tried all solutions like, NVRAM reset etc. from this thread but problem still persists. I know the speakers work because when I reboot the system I can hear the chime. But when I log back in, the output seems to not be detected. Model: 2017 Macbook Pro with touch-bar. OS: macOS Big Sur [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 02:57 PM PST I'm so tired of charging my electronics just for them to run out of battery when they're switched off.. this happens with my iPad and my iMac. I'm so tired of it. Can anyone tell me how to turn off whatever's using all my battery when it's powered off? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Feb 2021 06:38 PM PST The bottom arrow key on my MacBook Pro keeps coming off. I can't tell if it's broken or not, but it's a little annoying to keep holding it in place just to scroll up and down on my screen. Someone help? :'( [link] [comments] |
