My low cost solution to the”where to put the Pencil problem”

My low cost solution to the

After watching thousands of different ways an how to attach your Pencil to the 8th gen. iPad I finally came out with this solution, since I didn't want to ruin my folio case or to leave some adhesive on the iPad surface. I used two Leuchturm pen loops. By doing so, I can still use the iPad in every position without losing my Pencil.

What iPad-focused channel on YouTube do you recommend?

I'm looking for ways to understand more about my iPad and I think YouTube channels that talk about its tech and use cases would help me a lot.

Music player that can play directly from external SSD?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 09:24 AM PST

I have a pretty good external SSD (1TB) and I'm thinking of just not storing any media on my iPad at all. I know we can use the Files app, but TBH it's not much of a music player. For example, when playing from a folder it won't automatically go to the next track, won't show album art, etc.

Is there a music player that can browse to music files and directly play it without importing? I know coding apps can load files directly from SSD so it should be technically feasible.

    Thanks!

How to use the app switcher and multitasking when using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard

How to use the app switcher and multitasking when using a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard

I usually like touching the screen and quickly switching between apps and generally using all multitasking options available - such as the four finger horizontal drag between apps, or four finger vertical to the app switcher. However, my back is starting to ache - so I have raised my ipad screen off the table to my eyeline and trying use my Bluetooth mouse and keyboard alone.

I am struggling with using the mouse to easily switch between apps, especially two windows of the same app.

    - ideally cmd + tab would cycle through open windows - as you can't cycle through open windows of the same app

    - dragging the mouse to the bottom of screen does launch the app switcher, but I feel like I really need to "pull" the mouse down in order to do this.

    - whilst cmd + space universal search is great, it is only really good at opening new apps, rather than current multitasking objectives.

Are there any settings that I can change, or any advice that people can give so that I can use my ipad up at an elevated level, and multitask without touching the screen?

Just to check, there are no keyboard shortcuts to access the app switcher right? And the mouse options seem very limited at the moment in settings.

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 06:34 AM PST

Hi, are there any good, free (or really cheap), code editor apps for iPad? Specifically I needed one for HTML, currently I have been using Koder, but i would enjoy something with more shortcuts and etc., maybe something similar to Brackets. Thanks!

Bluetooth Keyboard can't confirm the delete of items inside the "Photos" App?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 07:42 AM PST

Why can I trigger the "Delete Photo" bubble with backspace, but can't confirm and delete it by press enter? It's so annoying. Or is there a trick, shortcut etc. to delete itemes just with the bluetooth keyboard inside "Photos"?

I would like to clean my library (13.000 itemes/Screenshots/Pictures) just by navigate with the left and right arrow keys and one key to delete images. Just like "." can set a picture as a favorite image.

    Any ideas? :-)

Current solution: Using a mouse as well, place the cursor on the confirm position, cover the mouse sensor with scott tape so the cursor wont move and then click backspace and left mouse button.

    Can we share Sidecar experience?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 01:18 AM PST

So far, my thought is this.

    1. Buying an iPad just for the external monitor was a great choice.
    2. Maybe I should've go with a 12.9 inch model for this purpose.

No.1 is just satisfied customer talk. I can see the parts to improve here and there, but it works as I intended with very little annoyance.

No.2 is more about future wishes than regret. Same to bigger size with better performances iPad may announce in a few days, but huge price drop with that size is just unrealistic, right? Still, I kind of wonder what if iPad Air had that big one too.

For a guy who didn't care about the iPad, this is going great. Maybe in the close future I'll care about iPad itself too. How about you?

People who game heavily on ipad/iphone, notice long term battery issues? safe practices?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2021 05:58 AM PST

So i have been gaming more on my ipad pro 12.9 2018 lately, maybe 2 hours a day. apple arcade has been fun and games like genshin impact now have controller support and run better than on a ps4 at 60 fps so ive been gravitating towards ipad/iphone gaming more than even my nintendo switch. But in a lot of games especially CoD mobile, or Genshin imapct, my ipad or iphone gets really hot. not to the point where it will blow up but hot enough to where it would be almost painful to hold it long term without a case. i dont hold my my ipad but its still worrysome. I know many people out there game exclusively on an ipad with graphically demanding games. is it dangerous long term? will i get to the point a year later after heavy use where my ipad would barely hold a charge because of constantly draining battery while charging and gaming?

MS Word on iPad pixelates images when exporting to PDF.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 07:14 PM PST

I am using word on IPad to upadate my CV. The CV has a small thumbnail portrait of myself. It saves it fine in word well but when I export to PDF it pixelates due too high compression I guess. I can't find a setting in word to change that. Anyone got a fix for that? Using a separate PDF creator perhaps?

Photorealistic 3D Rendering on the IPad Pro?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 09:23 PM PST

I just got a iPad Pro yesterday and I'm needing to do some photorealistic 3d modelling is that possible on the iPad like are there any apps that are compatible of that because I know of 3d modelling apps like shapr3d but I don't think it can do any photorealistic render like Adobe dimension or even blender because I don't presently have a laptop and am looking if I would need to get one as well for this. I forgot to put but it's for industrial design.

    iPad Pro with MagSafe

    Posted: 25 Feb 2021 04:44 PM PST

After dealing with the MagSafe for the iPhone 12 and after years of trying to find comprehensive iPad docks that charge and are magnetic for easy removal, I would love to see this feature come to the future iPads. It seems to be everything that I am looking for in an iPad dock, but doesn't work for an iPad (yet).
