| Why is my battery draining so quickly? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:16 PM PST I just got a brand new iPhone XR for Christmas so the battery health is still brand new at 100%. But for some reason suddenly my battery has just been going down really quick when I'm not using it. Most nights it will go down over 30%. | iPhone doesn't give notifications Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:56 PM PST So I recently changed my notifications settings and changed 'Show Previews' to 'When Unlocked' (big mistake). I definitely didn't like it so I changed it back. Now none of my apps are showing notifications unless I manually go into it. I've tried literally everything from turning my phone off/on, going back into notifications to change it, to going to individual notification settings to make sure it's on. | How to turn off the "headphone safety" setting that automatically reduces my volume?? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 12:56 PM PST I have an iPhone XS running iOS 14.3 and I live in the US Lately whenever I am streaming music in my car my iPhone will automatically reduce the volume by half, which brings it so low than I can no longer hear it. It does this during every car ride at least once, sometimes twice! It's VERY annoying. I have searched high and low through my settings and I cannot figure out how to tell my phone to stop doing this. When I go to "headphone safety" I only have one setting to toggle on/off which is "reduce loud sounds" and I already have it toggled off. I also have that setting toggled off under screen time. More to Apple that to you all: I love my iPhone and I am very entrenched in the Apple ecosystem. I love using my macbook for FaceTime and iMessage. But if I can't figure out how to turn off this setting I am going to have to switch to Android. This is just unacceptable. [link] [comments]  |
| Data transfer to iPhone 12 APPS Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:37 PM PST Data transfer to new iPhone Hi wondering if anyone can help I'm really confused When starting my new iPhone 12 i done the quick transfer option but after a few hours no progress had been made on the transfer bar on my old iPhone so i cancelled it to restart it, and now everything has transferred eg contacts photos, everything expect all of my apps. | Data recovery from iPhone baked in the oven Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:20 PM PST My mom apparently baked her iPhone in the oven today at 350 for a while and it obviously doesn't work now. She had a ton of unbackedup pictures including a bunch of her mom just before she died last year. She's obviously devastated. What are the options for recovery? From my quick googling it seems like the best bet is to find a data recovery specialist who can see if the logic board is repairable - the good news is that it does partially boot but not all the way. | iPhone 12 Pro & magnetic wallet case Posted: 27 Jan 2021 05:23 PM PST Ever since my iPhone 6s, I have been using leather folio cases with a magnetic closure (not a flap, it just stays closed with a magnet inside the cover) without issue (including with my late iPhone X), always from the same brand. I just upgraded my phone to the 12 Pro and ordered a new case (equivalent model). It has been on for about a week. Today I was playing around with the selfie (front) camera and the case open and stuck to the back of the phone (like it normally is when I'm browsing or using the phone), and I got this pop-up warning that a non-recognized accessory with a magnet could affect rear camera performance. Now, I was using the front one, not the rear one; when I do use that one, I obviously open the case so the camera isn't covered and thus the magnets are not interacting. I got worried and started shopping for an Apple-approved wallet/folio case on the Apple store, but they don't seem to have one at the moment. Since I normally leave the case open when I use the camera, will the case really affect the camera? Could it damage my phone? I'm still within the return window, so if it's truly problematic I will send the case back. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

(annoying if someone sends a picture or a video or more than a couple line text at once). Has anyone else had a similar issue and was able to fix it? | Phantom vibrations on an 11 Pro at the same times every day with all notifications turned off Posted: 27 Jan 2021 04:39 PM PST Every day, probably four or five times a day, I get a phantom vibration on my iPhone 11 Pro. I know for certain two of those times are 7:00pm and 7:11pm. Funny enough it's not exactly at 7pm. It's somewhere around 7:00:40. The 7:11 I haven't cared enough to track. I just got another at 7:20. This has been going on for a few weeks now. I've turned off literally every sound notification in settings except iMessages and iPhone. If I take it off silent, it plays the standard tri-tone.There are no updates or emails or anything and when I turn off Sounds for iPhone in notifications, they stop. If I take it off silent, it plays the standard tri-tone. I've cleared all my alarms, I've deleted all my reminders. It doesn't send haptics to my watch... JUST the phone. I'm at an absolute loss. | iPhone 12 Mini color shift (green tint at an angle) - is it normal? Posted: 27 Jan 2021 01:10 PM PST Hello, all. I have just purchased a new iPhone 12 Mini. Loving it, but I have noticed that it has a kind of aggressive color shift at angles, where a green tint appears at the whole screen. I immediately noticed it when the phone was laying on my desk. My regular iPhone 12 doesn't have this, only a very very slight yellowish hue at the same angles. The 12 keeps a neutral solid gray image perfectly gray at a 45-50 degree angle, while the 12 mini will make it almost green. Here is a short video of the issue. And here is a photo comparing the 12 mini (left) to the 12 (right), both on maximum brightness displaying a document with white background. True tone is on, but turning it off doesn't change the issue. So, is this within the expected quality? Should I return it? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |
| Help Fixing the Infamous “iCloud Storage is Full” Issue Posted: 27 Jan 2021 12:42 PM PST I have an iPhone 7+ 128gb that's going on five years old this year, purchased in the US at a T Mobile store. I'm going for an iPhone 12, but I can't switch them out because of this frustrating iCloud issue. I want to back up my photos, notes, and voice memos so that I can have them on my new iPhone, but I've been getting the iCloud full message for years. I always ignored it, but now I can't. I have 10.2 gb out of 50gb (I bought the upgrade) available, so plenty of space. My next back up (and the only one I've ever done) is going to be 29gb. So if the existing 10.2gb on top of the coming 29gb only comes out to just under 40gb, why is there not enough storage? This has been driving me crazy, and most threads on reddit have not been helpful, so if anyone has a fix for this or tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would really appreciate it! I am recording interviews in environments where the background level is steady but when I replay the video, the audio steps down slightly every few seconds. This is not a loud environment where an audio gain limiter is kicking in, we are talking about people sitting in a private office at their desk with the door closed. I am not touching the buttons or covering the mic. A search for similar problems turns up scant advice besides turning off stereo recording, which impacts the quality of my recording so no thank you. Everything has worked fine since I got the phone a few years ago, and I have updated my iOS since and it still persists. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]  |

It doesn't recognize that my SIM card is inside and it says "No service" in the top left corner. For the record, my phone is up to date and has latest iOS. Nothing works, not restarting the phone, not removing and reinserting the SIM card, not even reseting network settings. When I click 'learn more' it send me to this site: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208733, which doesn't help much. Has anyone had similar problem? I don't want to send it to repair because I don't know what's wrong. Service shop said maybe the SIM contactor is damaged and they can replace it, but I feel it's not just that. A few times I managed to get service, but after a few hours it was the same again. Also, I know some of the iPhones 7 were damaged and Apple replaced them for free (https://support.apple.com/iphone-7-no-service), but my model is not on that list (it's A1778). Please help! | Posted: 27 Jan 2021 05:53 AM PST Just upgraded from an 8+ 64GB to a 12 pro max 128GB. I struggle with generalised anxiety and now that I can record 4K 60fps I'm worried that I will fill the space too fast. I have 87.94GB free space available and 25GB of photos and videos in Google photos. This 25GB is every photo and video I have ever taken. I don't tend to use lots of apps and I don't take loads of videos, although I want to start taking advantage of the 4K 60. I stream all my content (Deezer & YouTube etc). I can return my 128GB and go for the 256GB but is that just silly for my usage? I plan on getting the IPhone 13 if it has 120hz so won't keep this phone too long. I know this is trivial and the pinochle of 1st world problems but something as simple as this can make me feel extreme anxious and I spend hours researching if I made the right choice. | Posted: 27 Jan 2021 06:24 AM PST Hi all, I've bought a refurbished iPhone XS with 84% battery health. All runs smooth and the battery life is acceptable. The only strange thing I notice is the lag of camera moving fast the iPhone. It isn't laggy like watching something at 10 FPS but it's noticeable... I'm on iOS 14.2. I haven't noticed this behaviour on my old iPhone 8 with iOS 14.4.. Do you think this is a software issue or something related to the camera? Maybe the camera has been replaced and is not genuine?
