| Posted: 26 Jan 2021 10:41 PM PST Having problems with an iPhone 8 plus. I either wont connect to the wifi or it won't even see the wifi networks at all. Airdrop also doesnt seem to work. I've tried almost everything from restarting the router at home, trying to connect to wifi at a cafe, restarting the phone, resetting the network settings, and even reformatting it. I have suggested memories, but even with those groupings I didn't get a "Year in Review" like he did this past year. Posted: 26 Jan 2021 03:39 PM PST So my iPhone 6 doesn't want to charge on a particular cable (I've tried 3 others and it charges using them all), but this particular cable does charge my iPhone 8. I changed the lightning port of the iPhone 6 for a new one myself and the issue is still present. So I guess my question is, what else could it be? Can't be a duff battery as it charges on other cables, is there different versions of apple lightning cables with different pinouts that I don't know about etc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. | Problem with back camera iPhone 11 pro max Posted: 26 Jan 2021 04:52 PM PST Today I wanted to film a video and there were black lines on my screen and on the video. I never saw them before and I checked the back lenses but I couldn't find a scratch. There are also black strips when I have it turned on photo but the strips move and they are harder to see. | Posted: 26 Jan 2021 02:29 PM PST Hello, My rear camera on my iPhone XS stopped working last night meaning whenever I would open any camera app, the rear camera shows a black screen. Though only Instagram seems to work when I use my rear camera, nothing else. In the camera app it does not work at 1x but it does at 2x. I was told by Apple that this is a hardware issue and they ran a diagnostic on my phone (I was talking to an agent on the phone) they said one of my rear camera sensors failed? Where I'm at, all Apple store locations are closed and the only option is to mail it in (that's not possible since I need my phone for work and it would take about a week). Also they quoted me about $600 to repair it which is out of my price range. I contacted a third party repair store, they gave me a price way lower than what Apple quoted me but I'm assuming that's because they're not using authentic Apple products. They said since the camera is one module, they'll have to replace the whole thing. Is that true when one of the sensors is not working? Also, if I used a third party repair, how will that affect my phone? The reviews of the place looks good but I'm a little skeptical because they may not use authentic products which might damage my phone. I am a little hesitant on repairing it since the rear camera works on Instagram but not everything else, so may it just be a software issue not a hardware issue? Posted: 26 Jan 2021 02:15 PM PST I asked this question because my iPhone X needs a replacement screen and where I live there are no Apple service points. I would not get it fixed by Apple anyway because of the unforgiving prices (I know u get what u pay for but still). There are 3rd party screens over here that you can get but they are just no good. The only option I have for an original screen is to have them take a working original screen off another defective iPhone X and place it on mine. Thing is I don't want to get scammed so I need a foolproof way to know if the screen they are putting on my phone is actually an Apple original iPhone X screen. Is the trucolor option only available for original Apple screens or are there 3rd party screens out there that are also capable of trucolor? Because if only Apple original screens are capable of trucolor that would be a very easy way to determine if the screen is original. And if anyone know the pros and cons of this repair. I find it odd that both cameras are fully dead now, could it be that some cable/motherboard thingy broke which made the connection with the camera break? When I press the power button, it just goes to a dimmed frame of the same thing. I've tried holding power button multiple times. I've tried recovery mode multiple times (volume up, volume down, hold power). Nothing works and nothing changes the screen. Suggestions? I know I can have that configuration but then my real question is this, my domestic line doesn't support international calling and google fi charges for calls but has unlimited data, could I hotspot from the esim to my domestic line and then make calls via WiFi calling on my domestic line? I bought a spigen thin fit. Its great for me, except magsafe accessories (moft magnetic stand or the satechi charging stands for example) of course dont work. All except 3 non-consecutive photos, including recently deleted and hidden. No auto update, phone was not plugged in but connected to WiFi. Last backup was days ago too.
