| Posted: 08 Jan 2021 10:24 PM PST iphone xs max user here. while when call is received the phone stays black ever after moving it past the ear. side button needs to be pressed in order to unlock the phone while on call. phone is still under warranty, had a word with apple advisor and as per their instructions phone has been reset and restored still the issue persists. | Will iPhone 12 only fast charge with usb-c? Posted: 08 Jan 2021 03:39 PM PST Using a OnePlus 30w wall charger and usb to lightning cable, and my iPhone 12 takes a loooong time to fully charge. I know it won't go full 30w on a non-OnePlus phone but it fast charged a Xiaomi phone even if it was a little slower than my OnePlus. | Safari no longer in Share menu Posted: 08 Jan 2021 07:54 PM PST I wanted to share an article from the News app to a friend yesterday. My friend has an Android phone and so doesn't have the Apple News app. When I went to share it, all it would let me do was send the Apple News url. He can't open this without an iPhone but before, I could always choose Open in Safari from the Share menu and then send it that way. The option seems to have disappeared on my phone. I've tried this in other apps like Pinterest too, but it doesn't show Safari as an option. Was this taken out of the latest update or am I missing something? [link] [comments]  |
| Issues with “text forwarding” on iPhone 8 Posted: 08 Jan 2021 07:18 PM PST Recently I upgraded from an iPhone 8 to an iPhone 12, and I still use my iPhone 8 a lot for certain things, and I'm having an issue with text forwarding. Oh my iPhone 8, the device will download any SMS (green) text messages that are both sent and received on my iPhone 12, and it has no issue receiving the texts real time, however the issue is that it won't SEND any SMS texts using "text forwarding." Anytime I try to send an SMS text, it always says "message send failure" immediately. My new iPhone is carrier unlocked, and I bought it from the Apple store with the AT&T "activate immediately" option, which gave me a new sim card and immediately de-activated my old iPhone 8. Both devices are on AT&T and under the same phone number, however my iPhone 8 is still carrier locked. I am thinking my iPhone 8 only tries to send the SMS messages through the carrier, instead of forwarding them to my iPhone 12. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Or has anyone experienced a similar issue? My iPhone 12 does show my iPhone 8 under "text message forwarding" as a device that I can activate that for, and I have turned it on. The text message forwarding also works without a problem on my Mac and iPad. Soon I am going to go through the process of unlocking my iPhone 8 (for reasons unrelated to this issue) but I hope that'll help. Maybe then the carrier settings will reset and the phone will stop trying to send the SMS messages through AT&T and will actually send them to my iPhone 12. Previously, my phone worked fine with Bluetooth in my Subaru Forester. There was a delay which really annoyed me but it was fine. Now, when I pair my new phones Bluetooth to my forester, it says it's playing but it's actually just playing through my phones speakers. Iv unpaired and paired multiple times and it still hasn't worked. Is this an iPhone problem or a Subaru problem? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 08 Jan 2021 03:02 PM PST hi everyone! i recently purchased a 128GB iphone SE. it arrived over a week ago but i have been unable to use it. here's why: my current phone is a 64GB iphone 8. it works fine and ive never had any MAJOR issues with it. however, now i can't seem to transfer or back up any of the device's data. when my SE arrived, i tried the quick start wireless data transfer and it didn't work. i tried a few times, went through the whole set up process, and got hit with the "data transfer could not be completed because an error occurred." so i tried to back the phone up to my macbook, which has never given me problems before. once again "an error occurred" it's important to note that at this time, both phones were updated to iOS 14.3 and my macbook was on MoJave. i called apple and spoke with both regular and senior-level advisors. neither of them were any help as all they could suggest was updating my mac to big sur, which i ended up doing and it did not help. after doing more digging, i've noticed that my last backup was done on nov 5 2020, just before i updated from iOS 14 to 14.2. i also noticed that the backup was encrypted and required a password. this was really confusing to find as i did not set a password for the backup. i spoke with apple again today and had an advisor take a look via screen share and once again, the advisor was at a loss. i purchased more icloud storage to back up my phone to icloud and there was an error with that too. i think the issue is with the iphone 8 itself and the iOS14.2 update as i never had problems like this until after the update. i was also able to update both phones on my macbook even though i can't complete any backups. i've tried restarting the phones, signing in and out of apple ID, using safe mode and RAM reset on my mac, and much more. i'm really not sure what to do now. i have an in-person genius bar appointment scheduled for monday but i'd rather solve the problem on my own before then because i don't really feel comfortable going to a mall right now. i've searched online and read about using third-party apps such as AnyTrans which i am considering, but am still hesitant about. has anybody had this problem before? do you know how to fix it? have you used AnyTrans? **it may also be important to note that from 2016, up until september 2020 when i updated to iOS14, i was unable to use airdrop as it was turned off behind a restrictions password that i did not set/have any knowledge about, and i was unable to use the clock app on my phone. these problems followed me on my apple ID to every iphone i had with no solution in sight until i updated my phone in september. It happens about every 3-4 months and I will receive text messages saying "stop" and whatnot from 5-12 random numbers but I have no idea what the person spoofing me is saying to them. Now, despite following the steps on the Apple support page (https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT202778), including resetting my phone, when I connect my phone to the device via USB, the phone now appears in my list of connected devices and there's no new 'do you want to trust this device?' message on my iPhone. iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 14.3. | WiFi/GPS/Bluetooth Signal Weakness on iPhone X Posted: 08 Jan 2021 05:42 PM PST Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with an issue regarding the weak signal I'm getting for WIFI GPS and Bluetooth for my iPhone X I've done all the necessary soft steps like; restarting the phone, hard reset, reset all settings, reset network settings, latest update, you name it. The back of phone has some cracks, nothing major and nothing that would lead me to believe the inside (back) has been penetrated. I recently had the phone screen replaced by a third-party repairman (probably a mistake) and ever since that repair I've had issues with the WiFi GPS and Bluetooth. I've tried returning it to him saying this issue derived from his screen replacement, but he only provided me the option to pay some ridiculous fee to have it fixed. Posted: 08 Jan 2021 05:17 PM PST I don't know how to share a photo to this reddit, it would really be helpful if i could. But basically I got a bunch of alarming frequently used emojis that i have never used. I got a bunch of random flags, devil, pumpkin, sparkle yen, a punching arm punching a wink face, skeleton, mask face, that graph with the spike going down, mask face, that purple pixely gamer looking emoji. It all kind of looked like a terrorist threat, or maybe some alt right thing? I'm not sure but i am truly alarmed and there is nothing online that I can find about this. I can guarantee I have not used any of these emojis. Am I hacked? Should I be afraid? Is there any advice on this? To be clear the problem is not that I don't want to see them, I know how to change frequently used. The problem is that all these random emojis I have never used with a certain configuration that seem to send an alarming message showed up in my frequently used. Does this let you type emojis? Posted: 08 Jan 2021 04:45 PM PST Does anyone know if there's a music player app (for playing downloaded songs, not streaming) which will allow me to switch between playing different playlists, but will remember where I was up to in each playlist when I return to it? Basically what I want to do is have one large playlist of songs that I listen to in the car on the way to work each day, and other smaller playlists that I listen to at home, but I want the car playlist to pick up where I left off each day, regardless of what I played at home in the meantime. | iPhone 6S shorting after screen and charging port replacement Posted: 08 Jan 2021 12:42 PM PST Have replaced iPhone 6S screen, which is all working incuding touch, camera etc Have replaced lighting connector flex (so mic's etc) also working. Done quite a few of these but first time I've had this problem and I'm unsure why When receiving a call it will shut off straight away as If it was shorting. I can make outgoing call ∆ I have 4G connectivity ∆ Battery health and charge is good ∆ Have removed screen and placed back again to make sure flex cables were sat correctly ∆ Have done a reset on the phone I'm not allowed to post video yet on this forum to show what's happening If anybody could give any advice that would be great [link] [comments]  |
