I have just purchased an iPad 8th generation for my daughter. She has some difficulties with fine motor skills, particularly using her fingers individually. When she interacts with the screen she can't help but touch it with all 5 of her fingers at once, and as you are probably aware, this is a baked in gesture to switch between open apps. She ends up getting rather frustrated that she can't help but close out her games that she's trying to play. I've tried searching for a way to disable this, but iOS is completely new to me and I must just be missing it. Can anyone offer their wisdom to help me make this iPad a bit more accommodating to her? | Unexplainable iPad Battery Drain - Fixed (for real) Posted: 16 Jan 2021 07:11 AM PST In early Dec 2020 I wrote a post about how my iPad was draining 1-3% an hour regardless of what I was doing. I spent months in troubleshooting (you can see all the steps here: iPad Battery Drain) but only got to a partial fix by using a different icloud profile (user). Well, I am pleased to say that I have returned to my original profile AND HAVE COMPLETELY ELIMINATED THE BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE. It's gone! The summary from my previous post was:
So it seems the secret sauce to get back to normal is that INSTEAD OF DFU OR RESETTING (Do not do that!) to restore my old profile, I went into my icloud account (settings, click on your iCloud picture at the top), went to the bottom of the screen and 'Sign out'. I signed in with my old icloud account - the one that was causing the battery drain issues - and I have been operating with a fantastically healthy iPad for over a month. It drains a couple of % a day regardless of what I've left open. So, for me, these following steps completely fixed my unexplainable battery drain issue:
Obviously, you can't restore your old configuration so will need to reload the apps you want to bring back, but hey, it's a great time for a clean-out anyway and at least you can freely reinstall the apps you purchased. | Posted: 16 Jan 2021 06:20 AM PST I have tried reinstalling then i also tried complete clean installation. I tried disconnecting my apple pencil. No improvements. Tried in google meet app and safari browser both. Ipad pro 11 inch 2018 (the one which does not have headphone jack so i use bt earphones) Ipados 13.5 or something I have abandoned it since now i dont understand a use for it because every other thing can be done by my laptop. Oh and btw i use mobile hotspot not wifi. Buty mobile hotspot is very good. ( I have downloaded pc games with it there is no problem in internet or hotspot) [link] [comments]  | ||

Today, I had a small ketchup explosion (don't ask...) in the kitchen and some got on the keyboard. I cleaned it as best I could. Everything works fine but there is a small amount of ketchup under the letter O. My son was quite upset with me. The keen observer can spot that the letter O is now lighting up pink. The storage was getting full, so of course I ponied up for the Icloud storage. But the storage remained full. So I had the girls go through and delete photos and videos. But the storage remained full. So I tried deleting things, and it kept telling me it would be deleted from the cloud permanently. No, I want to keep it in the cloud and delete it off the ipad to free up storage. I can't figure out what is on the cloud, what is taking up space, how much space it takes up, and how to free up storage on the ipad. The kids made a video for their grandma's birthday today, but can't play it because all the parts are in the Icloud and won't download because there isn't enough storage. Very frustrated! Yesterday I was on Reddit reading a old post about leaked websites from North Korea (weird I know but I like the stuff). Anyways I was using the in app safari to read on it and when done backed out to watch Hulu and went to bed. When I woke up and opened it back up in said that I had been on the webpage for 7 hours (all night ) even when it was locked and I was asleep. I'm just puzzled a bit because how could it have it have been screen time if I wasn't even on the screen anymore ?
