Razer Kishi Gaming Bundle is on sale at Walmart ($49.99 + Tax, USA)

Like the title says, I saw today at Walmart that Razer Kishi + Razer TWS headphones were on sale at my local Walmart. If you need a quality controller for your iPhone, the price is very nice for the bundle.

Also, it's a in store only type of deal, can not order online at the same price.

iOS online co-op gaming to play with a friend

    Posted: 09 Jan 2021 08:22 AM PST

Hi all I am looking for games to play with my friend online since he just got an iPad. We're thinking of Genshin impact but there's only so much to do in coop. I was wondering about don't starve, death road to Canada, or crypt of the NecroDancer, but couldn't find if if these co-op games are only local.

Games we play most often are smash Pokémon, ff serie, or mine craft.

We also don't like shooters, except for borderlands.

Got any recommendations of games like that ?

Games already support mouse and keyboard, but don’t support the new gen console controllers?

    Posted: 08 Jan 2021 11:13 PM PST

Is it really that much more difficult to support new controllers? how much more different are the new gen controllers compared to previous gen than the visuals?

    Idle/Incremental games

    Posted: 08 Jan 2021 11:31 PM PST

I've been playing grow castle for a few days and have been enjoying it, but it reached a point where the game gets very time consuming because the auto battle is paid (an by hour nonetheless).

Does anyone know a game like grow castle that isnt heavily p2w? Incremental/idle rpgs are welcome as well (I have tried a few like nonstop knight before, but want a game that isnt dead)

UPDATE: IPEGA 9118 controller not working on iOS

    Posted: 09 Jan 2021 04:10 AM PST

Quick recap I got a ipega 9118 controller but it doesn't work on iOS. I have checked this by checking if it was MFI ( which it was) plus I connected it to a Samsung phone and everything worked fine

Ok so I did a few things yesterday and it turned out that it was connected and was fully functioning after downloading an app. The app will hiliggt any button that I pressed and all turned successful I clicked x the app highlighted x

But however games still cannot recognise that I have a controller connected it just imports the touch controls

PS:I'm new to iOS, I had a android before that

iDos2 with file sharing is a game changer

    Posted: 08 Jan 2021 01:42 PM PST

I've seen posts here about iDos2 being available on the AppStore again and i just wanted to reinforce how amazing it is - it's been a game changer for me on my iPad Pro.

I bought the Appstore version and using iTunes file sharing, i was able to add some old games into the iPad - like:

    • Commander Keen
    • Blood
    • Rise of the Triad
    • Raptor
    • Warcraft II
    • Duke Nukem II
    • Doom / Quake

and some others... So then i started to test it and realized that the keyboard support isn't great - like if you hold the up arrow on the physical keyboard it doesn't really behave as you're holding, but more pressing and releasing - which basically makes all the games non playable.

I sent an email to Litchie, the developer for iDos - and i got a very prompt response from him explaining that the AppStore version doesn't allow him to add a better keyboard support _but that he could create a new version for me so i could sideload myself_.

It's a game changer - now the keyboard is working _perfectly_ for all the games, and it's incredibly easy to add new games using the file sharing - i'm mostly downloading stuff on the iPad itself and adding to iDos.

And for example, Warcraft II works with touch mouse controls, it's amazing to play on the ipad!

Litchie was so helpful that i encouraged him to create a patreon - and i'm already a supporter. So if you guys had tried iDos in the past and have stumbled on some of these issues, please give it a try again or check the version on the patreon page. For those of you who doesn't know how to sideload, it's not that complicated and i totally encourage trying! Litchie is also working on some additional and better mouse support for iDOS (which prob can't make it to the Appstore version) so it will just keep improving...

I just wanted to thank Litchie and share his Patreon page (https://www.patreon.com/litchie) and encourage more people to give it a try, it's amazing how well those games play on the ipad - especially if you have keyboard and mouse.

Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines running on iPad Pro

Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines running on iPad Pro

So for some reason i decided that i wanted to use my iPad as a retro gaming platform - and it's actually really amazing - with Retroarch there's support for most of the old consoles, with iDos i can play pretty much any old DOS games with keyboard and mouse support - but i also wanted to play some old Windows games and i was trying to find a workaround on the iPad.
After some struggle, i was able to run Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines on my iPad - mouse support and full sound!

The setup is a little cumbersome - you have to create a Windows XP virtual machine and run the game from there. The high-level steps are:

    • Download and install UTM (the app to create the virtual machines) from https://getutm.app/ ;
    • I installed it sideloading - there are many ways to do it depending your platform and etc - i used AltStore;
    • Create a VM on UTM with the settings:
      • i386 Architecture
      • 1024mb RAM
      • ne2k_pci network (if you want to have network - i even browsed the internet on the VM!)
      • ac97 sound
    • Install windows XP
    • After WXP is installed, install Spice Guest Tools https://www.spice-space.org/download/windows/spice-guest-tools/spice-guest-tools-latest.exe - this will install an actual Video driver for the VM
    • Then you can install Commandos
    • if you try to run Commandos now, you will have a message on DirectX5 missing - this happens because the "virtual" video card doesn't support hardware acceleration / DirectX instructions - but i found a workaround:
    • Voilá!

What D3DWindower is doing is running it on a window (instead of fullscreen) and for some reason this ignores the DirectX message.

Let me know if you need help on some of these steps, it's not that easy but also not super complicated! And now i'm figuring out other Windows games i could run on this WXP virtual machine - i already tested Claw and it works perfectly https://gamesnostalgia.com/game/claw
