| Posted: 17 Jan 2021 03:45 AM PST My setup is PS5 & Apple TV 4K connected to the Hue Sync box and the Sync box is connected to LG CX TV. I'm usually sitting around 2-3m from the TV. Recently I've noticed that the screen suddenly goes dark for 2 seconds or so and then goes back up. The program is paused and I need to press play again to continue. I noticed that this happens every time I stand up from my chair to get a coffee or something, and after some testing I comfirmed that this indeed happens every time I move away from the TV. I tested if the same thing happens on my ps5 and it doesn't. So what the hell, is there motion sensor on apple tv or whats up with this? How can I get rid of the problem? I can't tell if its a bug or feature but I definetely do not prefer it either way. [link] [comments]  |

| Trying to get clarity on audio sync issues with Plex on Apple TV (versus Infuse) Posted: 16 Jan 2021 09:33 AM PST Hello all, I'm a long-time Plex user (lifetime subscription), and am having issues with audio sync when using Plex on an Apple TV 4K. Simply put, Plex playing a show or movie on the Apple TV (whether connected directly to LG OLED CX TV, or through a receiver) has audio sync problems, but Infuse - playing the same file with the same connection - does not. This is using the latest version of both Plex and Infuse, and has been a consistent pattern for months, perhaps even a year. I am hoping to see if anyone knows of actual facts around this issue, and whether it can or will be fixed? I have seen this reported multiple times in the past, but it just never quite seems to get traction. I'm aiming to run down the actual status if possible, and then chase it further with Plex in case this is one of those "hard to replicate" situations. I have them, CBS All-Access/Showtime (all three part of the $10 bundle deal), Arrow Video Channel (this one was taken off a couple months ago, but I still keep it around cuz it's just too convenient for me), Noggin (heard this and NickHits are going away soon because ViacomCBS wants everything to be under one roof when Paramount+ relaunches), EPIX, and AMC+. | Issue with 4K Harry Potter Movies Posted: 16 Jan 2021 08:04 PM PST I purchased the Harry Potter movies years ago and can't remember if I had redemption codes or bought them on iTunes, but Apple does recognize that I own them. I can see all of them in my Library on the AppleTV app on my Apple TV box. But they're only available in HD. Hadn't Apple upgraded those to 4K a few years ago? All of mine are only viewable in HD and not 4K. Furthermore, the iTunes Movies app knows that I own them, so there isn't an option to Buy or Rent in 4K, I can only play them in HD for the majority of them. A few of them gives me the option to purchase them again in 4K, but I already own them since I can play them from the AppleTV app. It is all very confusing. At the end of the day, I want all versions in 4K. I'm aware there was a bug a few years ago that reverted 4K upgrades back to HD but reports say it was solved. Does anybody have any insight? I don't know what settings to mess with, the Apple TV or the Samsung. But I have to turn the TV up to around 45 to hear dialog and the, lets say gunfire, I have to turn it down to like 8. Whenever I put my ATV to sleep from the remote / menu, it also turns my TV off. However, I've found that putting my ATV to sleep from a shortcut or from siri, does put it to sleep, but does not turn off my LG TV. Does anyone know how to fix this / make this work? Thanks! My girlfriend has a separate Apple ID, and on her account she has an AppleTV+ subscription. We added her ID as an alternate account on the Apple TV, but when we go to the TV+ app it still only gives the option to subscribe to the free trial, not to use her existing subscription. Is there any fix other than manually going in to fix it every time or any idea why this would occur since I am on a 2020 Vizio P Series and a 4K Apple TV.. | Cabled Apple TV not connected to same network as WiFi Posted: 16 Jan 2021 11:26 AM PST So, I have an Apple TV 4K and absolutely love it. I do have one issue. I like having my all my devices connected to a cable. Because I have a couple of devices around the TV, including the TV itself, that I want to connect to the internet with cables, I placed an extra router behind the TV. The problem I have now is that when I connect the AppleTV via cable, I can't use my phone as a remote and the Apple TV can't find my homekit thermostat, because, and I'm guessing here, it sees it as a different network.
