- [Help] Apple TV doesn’t send HDMI signal to Tv every time I wake it up. If I unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back it in the signal goes through. Getting tired of having to do this every time I turn on my AppleTV. Anyone got any tips?

| Audio lag that isn’t consistent ? Posted: 13 Jan 2021 07:09 PM PST I've been having an issue with my Apple TV 4K where the audio eventually goes out of sync(menu, apps, etc). A mix of restarting or going into the menu and "check hdmi connection" gets it to work. Using hdmi cable that came with the device. I have a Sony Bravia 4k tv from 2015. Just playing audio through tv speakers. Does anyone run into this issue and have any suggestions to resolve this issue and prevent it from happening again? [link] [comments]  |

| AmazonPrime Video refuses to play some UHD content on AppleTV 4K Posted: 13 Jan 2021 11:03 PM PST I've had ongoing issues with some UHD shows refusing to play on AppleTV 4K. I'm wondering if others have similar issues. Shows that won't play for me currently includes:
Other (often older UHD titles) shows that I have tried play just fine. I can also play these same titles on a computer or iPhone or even a PS4, so it isn't an account or networking issue. Also, oddly, for some shows that once refused to play (The Boys), now work fine. Issue has been ongoing for a couple of years or more. Odds are generally in my favor as most shows play, except when they don't. I've done all kinds of things to troubleshoot... reinstall the app, factory reset the device, change network settings, wired vs wifi, submit a ticket to Amazon, .... It's inexplicable. | Remote input lag suddenly terrible Posted: 13 Jan 2021 04:56 PM PST I recently noticed the input lag on my remote is terrible. For example, if scrolling through letters to type in the name of a show, I can hit the over button 10 times in a row and it will move over in a slow pattern seconds after I've stopped clicking. Simply put, it's not instant. This is true for all input on every app, Home Screen, etc. Note: holding a direction button does result in fast scrolling. This is only when pushing something such as down, down, down, down. I'm using my LG OLED TV remote on my Apple TV 4K, and just updated to the latest beta and it persists. I don't recall when it started. My Apple TV doesn't appear to be working, though I don't want to use it if it were working. I'm recharging just in case it's out of juice. This same behavior is not present when using the same remote on the TV with native apps. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]  |

All of the third party remotes I've looked up on Amazon seem to not include the double-click TV button functionality to close apps. That's a key button. | Issues (related to latest update??) with TV turning back on when shutting down ATV4K via remote Posted: 13 Jan 2021 09:37 AM PST My current HT setup has my AT4K running to my Sony 930e TV through a Denon X3300 receiver. Unfortunately, both the ATV4K and the Sony 930e have taken updates so I'm having difficulties pinning down which device is causing my issue and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar... Issue: When I shutdown my system using the ATV4K remote all three devices shut down but, the TV turns back on almost immediately. If I don't intervene and shut off the TV with the Sony remote, the receiver will then turn back on. I do not believe the issue is with the receiver since shutting the TV off quickly keeps the receiver from turning back on. (Note: The ATV4K itself does not turn back on) Prior to the latest update, using the ATV4K remote would shutdown all 3 devices in my chain without issue. What compounds my troubleshooting the issue is that at some point after the ATV4K took the update, the Sony TV took an update. From what I can remember though, this issue occurred before the TV took the update but, I can't be sure. I've played with every setting I can in the ATV4K settings and in the TV settings with no luck. I still think there is a possibility the issue is with the receiver update but, I can't pin it down with that device either. Recently bought the Spider-Man collection on AppleTV with most of them (Homecoming & Far From Home, Spiderverse etc in 4K) and I would love to see them in 4K. At the moment I don't have a 4K Apple TV but if that is the only way it will work I'll have to buy one. I have the Samsung UNU7090 which supports 4K and HDR. Even the Samsung website says so. But whenever I play the 4K movies from the Apple TV app on the TV itself, it doesn't look 4K. It looks like I downloaded a 720p movie from piratebay... I've already set the airplay stuff in highest possible, so both Airplay in 4K won't work or playing from the app on the TV. On Amazon Prime even older shows and 4K content look amazing & sharp so I think I might know the answer already. Does anyone have the same issue/experience and how did you get 4K movies bought from iTunes show in 4K? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 13 Jan 2021 05:54 AM PST Last night I turned on the TV to watch Netflix. Pressed the Menu button on the ATV remote and everything fired up normally. Navigated to Netflix and clicked. The picture appeared normally but the sound was coming from my mini stereo pair in the den. Took me a minute to realize what what happening. Weird. Prior to this I had been watching something using a different ATV app and all was normal. To fix this I had to turn everything off, ask Siri to play some music and then stop it. After doing this and turning the ATV back on the sound was back to where it belongs coming from the living room HomePods. Easy fix but certainly weird. Has anyone else had this happen to them? | Posted: 13 Jan 2021 10:28 AM PST Hi there. Does anyone know if Apple TV will ever get the Express VPN app. Works fine on iPad and iPhone but no app on Apple TV. Tried the DNS codes provided with ExpressVPN membership and they are hit and miss at best. Work for a day or two then need to reset the Apple box and start all over. Any feedback or alternative VPN app I can use on Apple TV much appreciated. I want to watch UK tv in the EU hence the request. Thanks. [link] [comments]  |
