- iphone 11 battery wear level dropping rapidly

- How do I fix this? restarting didn't work. I have macOS Catalina Version 10.15.7

I do use it for school but i dont know if that is justifiable for it to fall off so rapidly. Should i contact apple, or is there some advice i can get? [link] [comments]  |

| AirPods Max no longer connect to my devices or make any noise whatsoever Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:03 PM PST My AirPods Max are about 1 month old and have spontaneous stopped making any sound whatsoever, including the connect sound when you put them on your head. ANC and Transparency mode also do not work. At first my devices were able to see them and I got them to work again after lots of unpairing, rebooting and resetting. This happened another time or two and then today I wasn't able to get them to pair successfully. They were pairing but there was still no sound at all and no ANC. They now can't be seen by my devices at all. Are they just duds or is this a software bug with a fix? [link] [comments]  |

I'll hold the case next to my phone and it'll act like they'll connect but they don't play any audio and in the Bluetooth settings it says that they're only "sharing audio" with my AirPods. | iPhone X still connects to wifi when phone turned off Posted: 26 Jan 2021 09:38 PM PST I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this. I switched a family member from an X to an XS Max. I did not wipe the old phone while they validate everything is set up just right on the new (to them) phone. On Saturday I power down the phone (used the "Slide to Turn Off" option). The screen doesn't light up when I tap it, nor when I press any buttons (avoiding pressing the power button long enough to turn the phone back on). So for all the usual intents and purposes, the phone is turned off. However, my firewall (pfSense) still records the phone trying to communicate with one of my IoT devices (a Wemo smart plug). It is now Wednesday, 4 days later, and it regularly tries to connect to the Wemo's IP address. I suspect this is why I powered the phone down in December and this past weekend it was completely dead vs. having a partial charge. Any thought on how I can get the phone to completely shut down for long term storage? It will be a backup phone if any of us break our phones. [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone 12 128GB Microphone Issues Posted: 26 Jan 2021 09:10 PM PST Yesterday I went to my local Apple store to get my grandma a new iPhone 12 as an upgrade from her iPhone 6 Plus. Today we just set it up and everything was working fine. During setup we could set up Siri and after setup she was able to make calls etc. Fast forward to the next day she was trying to use the "hey siri" function and it wasn't working. So I tried to set it up again but now the phone isn't able to pick up any voices while doing so. I've tried voice memo's to try to record a voice and nothing appears, no feed back at all. The strange thing is that we tried recording a video and the phone was able to pick up everything. She also tried calling my phone and I was able to hear her voice as well. I've tried hard resetting, resetting settings, erasing content and even just setting up the phone as new again. The phone hasn't been dropped and has been used for less than maybe 3 hours total. Any suggestions before we take it back to the store? I'm really stumped on what has happened. [link] [comments]  |

| imac a1225 - trying to reinstall OS "temporarily unavailable" error and tried everything! Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:53 PM PST Trying to help get an older iMac (looks to be 2007 model a1225) setup for the director of a preschool in our town. She doesn't have the apple id of whomever was last using it and wiped the HD and tried to reinstall the OS in recovery mode. We can get through all the steps but at the end it gives the "This item is temporairly unavailable" error. I've tried the following per several threads I found on the topic:

This only happend after updating to Big Sur. The only time it would dissapear is after a restart, but after a while it does end up coming back. I was facetiming my brother on my iphone xr & i had used my macbook (from around 2015) to prop it open as i was in a dim room and didnt feel like getting up lol. anyways so we're facetiming (my phone isnt connected to the wifi but my laptop is) and i am being facetimed by him but on my laptop. same exact contact info on my laptop, even though im literally speaking to him at the moment on my phone. i answered and it was someone else. i couldnt see their face but i know i was looking at the top of someone's head. i ask who it is but no one responds so i hang up and call my brother back on another call app. can anyone tell me what might have happened? | iMessage and FaceTime login Problem Posted: 26 Jan 2021 12:56 PM PST A few days ago i noticed that i was logged out of the iMessage app, so i tried to log in and it worked, but after about 10 seconds the login prompt shows up again and i cant use the app. I already did the things apple suggests on their website, but nothing worked. Then i realised, that the payment and shipping tab at the preferences was empty. On my iPhone, there is my debit card but on my macbook there is nothing. I don't get any error messages on my macbook and on my iPhone, but when i visit appleid.apple.com, there is an error at the payment and shipping section. How do i fix it? [link] [comments]  |
| Why are games I moved to an external still "taking up space" on my hard drive? Posted: 26 Jan 2021 08:08 PM PST In my system information tab I've got about 75 gigs worth of games that I installed via steam and gog, which I've moved to an external to save space. For some stupid reason, the finder is still like "yep they're still there" when they're very much not. It's allocating the full space for them, it's not useable, but they're definitely all on my external. Why does it do this? How can I make it not? I don't have a huge hard drive, and I pull games on and off of my external as I want to play them. I also can't just point steam to the hard drive, as I also have games installed on my primary ssd that I really don't want to run off of a thumb drive. In the screenshot I added? battletech, cities skylines, shadowrun, neverwinter nights, kotor, and sid meier's railroads are all listed as there. They are absolutely on the external, I pulled them from the containing folder and they're taking up the right amount of space. I didn't just copy them, they aren't in the old folders. I also tried rebuilding spotlight because I read that was a thing that might fix it, and nope. Any ideas? I *really* don't want to waste the bandwidth installing and uninstalling a 45 gig game every time I feel like playing it for a few hours, and that's seriously feeling like my only alternative. I have an upgraded late 2013 macbook pro, running mojave because catalina literally won't run any of the games on that list. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 26 Jan 2021 07:54 PM PST Long story short, my Apple Health activity data was accidentally wiped from Sep 2020 - mid Dec 2020. I have a Dec 2020 encrypted backup from roughly around the same time in my computer. I'm wondering, if I were to restore that backup to my phone, would it retain any activity data from Dec 2020 onwards? I think Apple Health data does sync to iCloud as well, so I'm wondering whether the old data from the encrypted backup will merge with the new iCloud data. Thanks a bunch! [link] [comments]  |
