    I put my 2020 iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil 2 in my purse to draw when I was waiting somewhere. At some point after coming home, my two year old grabbed my purse while my back was turned by climbing on her toy box. I took the purse away and gave her an old one to play with. Today, when going to work on a commission, I saw that my Apple Pencil was missing. I looked everywhere and found it with the tip missing and gold piece exposed. I know the tips are replaceable and should be replaced. But I noticed the gold pin is cocked to one side and a bit loose. I can't pull it out, but I can wiggle it left or right at a slight angle. Here it is angled

    It can go in the standard straight/tall position. I doubt this is normal, but I cannot afford a new one since my hours were cut which was why I went to commissions.

    If it's not going to work anymore please be easy on me.

    EDIT: Never mind I'm actually really devastated over this.

    Should I buy an iPhone XR or an iPhone SE 2?

    Sorry if this question is too simple for this sub. I'm just having such a hard time deciding on which one of these phones to buy, and I figured you all could help me.

    First of all, some background. Whichever one I get, I will definitely buy the 128 gb size. It's also not in my budget to buy an iPhone 11 or 12 or anything. I will be moving to this iPhone from a cheap Motorola phone and an iPod touch, so either way, this is a big upgrade for me.

    Here are some reasons I am attracted to the XR over the SE: --Larger screen for watching videos (I don't play video games btw) --Longer battery life

    On the other hand, here are some things I like better about the SE than the XR: --Lower cost --Newer; will be supported with updates for longer --A13 chip instead of A12

    Basically, there are pros and cons either way. I want to know which one you would choose, with your experience. If you have one of these phones, do you like it? What is the battery life like?

    Also, how important is it to buy a newer iPhone that will get updates for several years? Is it okay to use an unsupported phone?

    Does anyone know how much power the old 27" Thunderbolt Displays put out over their USB ports?

    I just bought a (used) iPad Pro, and am leaving it on on my desk, and I plugged it into the USB port on the back on the old Apple 27" Thunderbolt Display, and even while charging, it's losing 10% of power per hour or so. The iPad is said to take 18W. Any idea how much the displays put out? I'm considering buying a high-wattage power adapter for it now.

    2019 27” Mac just started playing YouTube video audio on its own while asleep on its own in the middle of the night. Video was from chrome browser. Wtf just happened

    I was just awoken at 245am and thought my wife was watching something loud on the tv only to discover the loud noise coming from the Mac

    Mac was asleep and I put it to sleep at 1230am and was the last person to use it. so I woke it up and saw the video playing 3 minutes into the video I had left at the start point.

    What the hell just happened? I'm spooked. I checked the entire house and no one is in the house so why could have happened?

    Is there some glitch I don't know about?

    Another note is that I was last to use the computer and the volume was turned all the way down whereas I was awoken because it was turned all the way up

    My Apple Watch keeps stealing my Airpods from my iPhone

    Hi all! I am working from home and use my Airpods with my iPhone all day to take/make calls. I also run my music app (amazon music) or Podcast app on my phone while I am not on a call. The problem is, any time I get a notification, or activate my Apple Watch in any way, it immediately disconnects my Airpods from my phone and my music stops. It is so annoying and I have started removing my watch while I am at my desk so it stops happening.

    It was happening a LOT today - almost every time I moved my arm, so I threw my watch on the charger thinking that would be enough. Well any time I even slightly jostle the desk when typing the watch lights up and steals them away. For now the watch is sitting on a nearby table off the charger.

    I have googled is a bit and I am aware that the devices are competing over the Bluetooth connection. I have attempted to re-sync the Airpods but it doesn't really do anything. I searched the forum as well and I didn't quite find this situation - I apologize if this is a common post.

    Is there anything that I can do to stop this or to set it up so I have more control over when the Watch and Airpods connect? Or is it just that I need to keep them away from each other? That would be frustrating if it was the case.

    Hey,

    I'm trying to be very careful about not going into rule 2 territory but I'm uncertain the best way to frame it.

    I had an iPhone 6 and recently left it on top of my car at the gas station and it is now gone. I used find my iPhone but wasn't able to ID the phone. I left the "lost phone" message hoping it would come through.

    I didn't get a reply so I bought an iPhone 7. When I attempted to add my apple account it wouldn't allow me to sign in without 2 factor authentication. I know my password but since I've lost the actual phone it wont allow me to get the code.
    I went back into "find my iPhone" and removed the device thinking that if the trusted device isn't on my setup I'll get another option - nope.

    FURTHER to this - both numbers I have added are from over 6 months ago (one's from another country) and I haven't had access to either of these numbers.

    The credit card I used when I originally setup my apple card was over 4 years ago as well so I'm sunk there as well.

    So far I have access to

    My original apple id email
    My password for my apple account
    All government related ID showing that I'm who I say I am and that I've held the account from it's start.

    I created a ticket with the apple service and they've given me a case ID and I can contact them when the centre opens again.

    My question is :

    Is there anything else I haven't thought of to verify my identity - and after the 13 days what options do I have considering I don't even have the phone # that the apple code would be getting sent to?

    Hi everyone. I really enjoy the Apple products I have been using. I enjoy many aspects of it. I was curious about Apple email, I believe its USER@icloud.com now.. I have heard some good and not so good about it from a couple of years ago. I was curious what everyone thought. Can it be trusted as my one and only email (including for business)? The bad I heard was that it was slow and not so reliable. I hope that is not the case. Would love to hear your personal experiences. Thanks.

    Macbook Air 2020 M1 shift key issues

    I had some issues with one of my keys sticking on my Macbook. I tried to pop it out to clean it because it was continuing even after trying to clean it from outside. Unfortunately, now it won't go back in. I've tried everyway possible I could think to reinsert it but it won't go back in properly.     My notes are gone...

    So back in October my iPhone became come jam pact with random things that one day when I shut it down it didn't boot up again. I've got it back now,but since then my iPhone and my IPad notes haven't been synced. I just looked up how to link them via Icloud as I'm sorta a writer and want to keep all my ideas in one place. Anyways I go to make sure everything has transferred over and all of my notes that were originally exclusive to my phone have disappeared and I immediately went to unsync it but it just leaves me with no notes. All of my ideas, prompts thoughts and emotions are there and now they're gone. Can someone help me find a way to get them back?

    Freeing Up Some Storage

    Hi all,

    So, I'm a complete novice when it comes to really anything tech related, and recently I've been struggling to free up some space on my Mac. When doing your typical search for what's taking up all the space, I'm shown that it's (out of something like 120gb's) almost 75gb's of "System" storage, and I can't find any way to delete any of that.

    My Mac's almost full, and it's starting to tell me I'm running critically low on disk space, but I really can't find anything to delete as the "System" portion is taking up the vast majority of my storage.

    Further, when I tried to simply go through the finder looking at large files, when going to my user (under my MacintoshHD file/location), the size listed for the folder doesn't match up with the contents of the folder. It says, before entering the folder, that it's total size is 36.35gb's, but once I enter it, the total of all the folders *inside* the user folder doesn't even exceed 10gb's.

    I'm very confused, frustrated, and inexperienced, as I'd thought buying a 1 terabyte external hard drive would solve my issue, but alas. Thus, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I can’t find the return link.

    I recently bought an Apple item online and then realized that I didn't need it when it shipped. The FAQ section of the Apple website says that there should be a link under the order to return it. There isn't a link for me, and I can't go to an Apple store because they are all closed. Does anyone know what I should do to return it?

    Siri always assumes AM instead of PM. It’s making me crazy! Am I nuts?

    I'm on the latest public iOS release. I feel like this didn't used to happen, but I've noticed it A LOT in the past few months. I'll tell Siri "remind me to go to the store at 2 o'clock tomorrow." She'll chirpily reply "ok, here's your reminder for tomorrow" and it will be set at 2:00 AM. I'm constantly telling myself "Damnit! Remember to say 'PM' or 'afternoon' next time!" But I'm not always focusing 100% on my conversation with this robot lady (nor should I need to). I feel like this did not always happen. She used to be smart enough to assume that I probably want to be reminded during the day, not the middle of the night. Am I crazy? Is this like the cornucopia in the Fruit of the Loom logo?

    Anyone having lag iOS 14

    So I just restarted my phone because I can't stand my notifications and all of a sudden my screen is lagging bad, my volume controls are useless because of the ten second lag, I adjust the volume and it take a good 10 seconds to adjust the volume, songs cut out all the time. Anyone having this issue?

    iPhone 7 battery health going down very quickly

    I bought a used iPhone 7 a little less than a week ago. The battery health when I bought it was 95%, it has already gone down to 92% in only a few days. I've been trying to keep the battery healthy by not overcharging it or letting it run down, I've kept my screen brightness low etc. But at this rate I'm gonna have to shell out for a new battery by the end of the month. What can I do??

    Mid 2012 macbook pro SSD upgrade won't work after multiple attempts

    I've tried multiple times now to upgrade my mid 2012 macbook pro to an SSD I've followed the instructions of guides on line making sure the format matches and everytime I get the is loaded on the ssd it boots and works fine when I test it from an external via USB but as soon as I put it in the computer it gets to the login screen and craws to a sluggish speed and crashes upon trying to login no idea whats going on this is only a secondary machine for me luckily I'm a lifelong Windows user if anyone can explain to me whats going on I'd love the help Thanks
