| Uploading HEIC photos to iCloud Posted: 13 Jan 2021 06:35 PM PST I have a lot of photos in my Google Photos app but I want to upload all of them to iCloud. I exported all of them into a .zip file in my PC and some pictures (taken by my iPhone) won't upload to iCloud because "only JPEG formats can be uploaded". Let me see if I get this straight: iPhone takes photos in HEIC format but Apple won't allow me to upload the photos I took with the iPhone itself to iCloud? Why would this make sense? | AppleTV 4th gen making loud static noise Posted: 13 Jan 2021 09:34 PM PST Hello, I just purchased my second Apple TV last night, I installed it on my LG flatscreen TV via HDMI Cable, I also have a sound bar connected to my tv, whenever I try to watch Netflix or HBO, a LOUD buzzing/static noise and will not stop playing. I'll be starting my graphic design works by end of Feb so I do need a reliable machine to work. My workflow revolve around the Adobe Suites especially Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign and Lightroom. Don't think I'll be having time for 4K video edits so maybe just some normal video edits and also more photography works. My current aim is to either go for the MBP M1 (16gb, 1tb SSD) or the 16" (i7, 16gb, 5300). Which one do you guys think will best suit my workflow and also the software compatibilities? | Recover a wiped MacBook air HDD? Posted: 13 Jan 2021 07:29 PM PST So I made the wonderful mistake of formatting my MacBook air early 2015 without backing it up first... I haven't yet re installed OSX onto it. It was running el capitan Is there any method of recovery at this point as I had a number of photos etc on there that weren't backed up elsewhere. | Hard Drive Full - Photos + iPhoto + iPhoto Posted: 13 Jan 2021 06:13 PM PST Hard drive on a 2015 Retina 5K iMac 27" running Big Sur 11.1 - hard drive is full except for 15GB out of 1TB. I recently purged a ton of dupe images and movies, purged old emails and attachments, etc. and reclaimed something like 20GB of space. Chewed up in a week and back to 15GB of space. Performance of course impacted and mail won't even open now. In looking through space hogs, I spotted my photos folder along with two iPhotos folders. I wasn't able to open the iPhoto files which would be understandable. I would've thought that those files would've been imported into Photos during any conversions - but there are still two iPhoto folders taking up massive space. Any ideas on how to remedy while keeping photos? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| iMessage not working on MacBook Pro Posted: 13 Jan 2021 05:56 PM PST One day, my iMessage just logged me out on my MacBook. When I tried logging in I would get "an error occurred during activation" message. I tried everything on google but nothing worked. I updated my system thinking that would fix it, nope. I'm now running Big Sur and I tried logging in again thinking maybe it was magically fixed. It lets me login but won't update messages and about 10 seconds after will kick me out. I eventually got the message that my iCloud has been locked (I don't think it has, it's working fine). I really don't want to call tech support but if I have to I will. I thought I would start here first. This has been like this for about a year now. It also works on my other devices (phone, iPad, and watch). [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone XS Max No sound or Voice in Calls. Posted: 13 Jan 2021 05:02 PM PST When i try to make a call I have no sound or voice. speaker doesnt work other person cant hear me. Both speakers upper and lower do work though. When I use textfree app to make the call I get sound non speaker and speaker and the other party can hear me fine! Also my XS Max is connected with my iphone 7 which works fine when I get a call on the 7 and answer it with the XS Max the sound and voice works! this is really weird. [link] [comments]  |
