God how i hate subscription based application Posted: 25 Dec 2020 11:09 AM PST I've bought many apps throughout the years, and spent a lot of money on them, for example Fantastical 2 and PDF Expert, and i've been a huge fan of those applications. However a few years down the line both of them became a subscription based application that do not provide full access to their features without you paying for their subscription. Sweet jesus how annoying it is to have paid what i consider to be a lot of money for the features that these applications and not being able to use them without paying them more money. Just a simple rant, i really dislike how mony developers seem to be going this route. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to get your screen time passcode? Posted: 25 Dec 2020 01:56 PM PST Hey. So apparently I'm 10 years old and my parents decided to put screen time on my phone (I'm 15 btw). I know how this sounds so cringy but please keep reading. I'd say I understand iOS as an operation software pretty well and I have tried every possible way to get the passcode. The thing is that I don't want to change the password I just wanna find out what it is. So after my useless tries to get the passcode I started googling how to get it. I found a pretty cool website and tool called pinfinder.net For a sec I thought I found a way how to actually get the passcode but pinfinder only works up to iOS 12.4. I think you can't really get the passcode just using only your phone because iOS is just too safe. So please if you know about any tools like pinfinder let me know. [link] [comments]
Alarm volume doesn’t remember my “headphone” settings Posted: 25 Dec 2020 02:24 PM PST When I plug my headphones in, the alarm volume always increases despite me setting it to mute before I unplug them. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm running the new iPad Air. [link] [comments]
Gooseneck Stands and Pressure on IPad Posted: 25 Dec 2020 08:50 AM PST Hey all. I just got the Lamicall Goosemeck tablet holder which I am ecstatic about. The only thing I'm concerned about is whether the pressure holding the iPad on the stand is enough to warp or squeeze the iPad and damage it. I have the iPad Air 3rd edition. Anyone know? Posted: 25 Dec 2020 03:30 AM PST I got the Apple Pencil 2 for Christmas and I have been playing around with it all day. Does having the pencil attached to the side and charging all the time drain my battery on my iPad at all? Should I leave it there all the time or only when I need to charge it? [link] [comments]
Issue setting up second-hand iPad Posted: 25 Dec 2020 12:28 PM PST Trying to set up old iPad Wasn't sure which flare to choose first off! Secondly, Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you've all had a great day! So basically my mum's received a new iPad for Christmas, and she's given me her old one. I'm not sure which model it is but probably 6/7 years old. I did a factory reset and am now trying to set it up. I've tried to set it up as a new iPad and also by restoring from the cloud. Everything goes fine until I get to the point where it asks me to type in the passcode for my iPhone 11. I've tried at least 10 times over the last few hours, and it keeps saying it's incorrect. I've only had the phone for a couple months, I'm 100% sure it's correct. As an alternative it offered to let me use my MacBook Pro password, and again, it said it was incorrect when I'm 100% sure that it was, like I used the MacBook this morning and put my password in no problems then. So all in all I'm just not sure what's going on with it, does anyone have any advice? [link] [comments]
My experience with iPad after 7 years of Samsung Posted: 25 Dec 2020 06:21 AM PST I've been using mid range Samsung tablets that have served me very well but since starting University I've wanted a tablet with a proper stylus to scribble down notes or do exercises on. Now it was a toss up between the galaxy tab s6 and the iPad Air 3. Tablets have always been the centre of my tech use because of the screen and portability. Ultimately I bought the iPad as it was cheaper, and the apps I wanted were on it exclusively. And a year on, I don't see myself going back. It's become an even greater part of my life. Things I love - Display: True Tone, no air gap, good colours - Performance: Handles any game, loads everything super fast, everything is optimised - iPad OS: Rapid and regular improvements, ease of use and how everything is well integrated - No need to tinker, no bloat (unlike on Windows and Android) - Note taking: Super accurate, no lag, GoodNotes is amazing - Screen time & content restrictions - Design: Wow 😍 Things that I don't like - In my case it's not a laptop replacement, the mouse support isn't great for me - Safari isn't great, no good alternatives, crashes and pretty slow sometimes - Cross platform integration, sucks for me as I use both Windows & Android Idk if this is a bug or what, but since 14.2, hey Siri doesn't work, I've tried turning it on and off, still broken. Now, I'm not going to go all in on Apple (Partly because I don't like the idea of one company for everything, especially with their closed wall ecosystem), but I love my iPad and genuinely can see this thing going strong years from now! Best keyboard w/ trackpad that supports gestures for iPad? Posted: 25 Dec 2020 04:01 AM PST Am I right in assuming the only two keyboards which have a trackpad and full gesture support (i.e. apple allowed the keyboard manufacturer to use their api) are the magic keyboard and the logitech folio touch? If not, what are the best alternatives for the price and what is your personal set up? Do you see more keyboard manufacturers having access to gesture support? Thanks a lot guys and merry Christmas! (This post is in relation to the iPad Air 4 but also interested in all other iPad setups!) [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Dec 2020 05:23 PM PST I received my new iPad Air 4 today and I have to say it is everything I expected and more. It's been a awhile since I've had a new iPad. My last was a hand-me-down mini 2 with 16GB RAM so I'm $hIIting in high cotton now 😂. Seriously, it's a great iPad and is beautiful. The display is great and it doesn't feel as awkward as I feared it might after using a mini for almost 5 years. I've read other posts comparing the Air 4 screen to the Pro model and I have no way to compare them myself but I have no complaints about this display. So,for anyone on the fence trying to decide between the two I say if you don't absolutely need the OLED display or the higher end features of the Pro then get the Air 4. Just my $0.02. Merry Christmas to all! [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Dec 2020 09:18 PM PST Was made an offer I couldn't refuse. Sold the 32 gig base iPad for $245 after buying it 2 years ago for $285. I think I got a pretty good deal with it, but I've been missing it a lot and I kind of regret selling it. While the base iPad can tend to be annoying with its clunky form factor, those big bezels & that big chin & though it pales in comparison to the Air & the Pro, it has to be said - the base iPad is easily the best iPad out there, specially when you consider price points & affordability. If you're a student and you need an iPad and you're working on a budget, look no further than the base iPad. [link] [comments]
File Corrupt on transferring them to USB drive Posted: 24 Dec 2020 09:17 PM PST I have been experiencing file corruption on transferring files to USB drive from my iPhone (iOS 14) frequently with images and videos. Is there a similar problem you have ever experienced in an iPad Air (4th gen)? [link] [comments]
Is There Any Desktop Browser Alternative For iPadOS ?? Posted: 24 Dec 2020 11:57 PM PST Hi, just recently try to moving all my work using iPad only. Until now everything is run very well. Except that the best desktop browser in iPadOS until now is only Safari. I already tried Google Chrome but c'mon it's far from perfect, even if you tried to open gmall or google ads using google chrome it doesn't work well. Facebook also doesn't display correctly in Google Chrome for iPadOS. Another browser that i tried is Aloha Browser. It's a second alternative that i used until now. It can render all the desktop website almost perfectly but the performance is still bad and still have a lot of compatibility issue. Any reference, tips and trick are welcome :). [link] [comments] |
