Has anybody with both stereo HomePods as well as YouTube TV noticed a slight delay in the sound?

My Apple TV lists my television in the available Bluetooth devices. They’re already connected through HDMI. Is there a reason to connect them through Bluetooth as well?

Does anyone own an iPad and an Apple TV 4K? What are your usages for both?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:35 PM PST

I just got a 4K tv as a gift, and I was looking to purchase an Apple TV 4K. I usually use my iPad for media consumption, but is it worth buying an Apple TV 4K if I already have an iPad? Does anyone own both and can share their usage for both devices?

Set up HomeKit hub with another iCloud ID

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:22 PM PST

Hey there, I would like to use my girlfriend's Apple TV as a HomeKit hub but the home app doesn't find it. Is there a way to force that? As far as I understand it is necessary that both (ATV and iPhone) iCloud IDs are using the same account. If there isn't a way maybe there is an easy option to switch a second account (multi user) to be the main account? And no, I don't want to have my girlfriend to be the master of the smart home ;) she doesn't care.

Does the Apple TV HD upscale to 4K?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 05:17 PM PST

So I recently got a 4K HDR TV and I had a pre-existing Apple TV HD that I got a couple years back and I plugged it in and the interface seems to be in 4K. So does it upscale or is it my TV?

    Apple TV 4K question.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 02:10 PM PST

So I apologize in advance if this has been asked before as I'm sure it has, but I was wondering about something regarding Atmos and my setup. I have recently bought a TV that supports Atmos, and I have a pair of HomePods and an Apple TV 4K, but for whatever reason I still can't get Atmos to work. The option is grayed out in my TV settings. I thought that by plugging my Apple TV into the eARC port that it would make it work. Apparently not?

I have two ATVs in my home that I have been unable to update the tvOS 14 and are stuck at 13.4.1.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 02:56 PM PST

I've done a full reset, reset and update, even tried a reset without logging into my iCloud account and trying to update. It gets to the Preparing Update 1 of 2 progress indicator, then resets and says the update was unsuccessful. Anyone experience this or have any advice?

With the Apple TV app. Is an Apple TV box a waste of money?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:13 PM PST

I've been a user of the Apple TV for a while. My whole family is predominantly Apple with everything except for computers. But I just recently got a new 4K smart tv and just realized that The ATV app lets you watch your iTunes movies on other devices.

What's the point of keeping my Apple TV box in this case? I don't use Apple Music. Or Apple Arcade. And given that my Apple TV Box is still an HD version instead of a 4K (was hoping to get it as a Christmas present) it seems like upgrading it will just be a waste of money either way. Or is there any big difference between the box itself and the app that makes the box better?

Edit: to clarify since my tv is a smart TV it also has Netflix and Disney and hbo etc etc all on there as well.

Can I get a list of which apps are using my TV provider?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:02 PM PST

I'm getting ready to cut the cord.

Currently, a bunch of my AppleTV apps are using my AT&T U-verse login via the shared TV Provider login feature. I'd like to get a list of these (ideally without going through every single app and digging around until I find it), so that I can evaluate each to see whether it's covered by each of the various streaming TV providers (Hulu Live, YouTube TV, etc) so that I can best evaluate my cord-cutting options.

Does AppleTV have a way to do that?

Anyone use the "infuse" app? It sees my thumb drive via router USB port, allows me to add it as a share yet wont include it in the library. I can see the files on it but cant actually get to a screen that allows me to play anything.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:03 AM PST

when you log into the app you're hit with the "add shares" home screen.

I do that and it instantly sees by thumbstick plugged into my usb drive. I "add" it o the saved shares...then thats all I can do. I can access the thumbdrive in the edit shares menu and "speed test" the video files on it but I cant find a way to actually add it to the library menu to watch anything.

If anyone has any insight on this id appreciate it!

EDIT: solved by using VLC instead.

Family just got an Apple TV. The audio works on every app besides Netflix. I’ve done research but all of the forums are from 2014 so they’re a bit outdated. Any suggestions?

Already managing/subscribed to the Apple One family plan, just got 1yr. Apple TV+ from new 4K ATV...

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 04:17 PM PST

Redeem and see what happens? Does it apply any sort of discount?

Just ignore it? Thanks anyway, Apple.

EDIT: Family plan includes 3 other members using Apple One.

    Apple TV+ question

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:51 PM PST

So, i got Apple TV+ a couple days ago. Tried to watch it on the Apple TV+ website, didn't work because I gotta verify with a credit card which I don't have. Okay, so I tried to chromecast from my iPad to my computer and TV, didn't work either because Apple doesn't support that. Also tried to download the Apple TV+ app on Android, but didn't exist. Anyone knows a solution?

    Apple TV app on Firestick

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 04:31 AM PST

Is anyone using the Amazon Firestick to watch Apple TV? I'm getting a weird glitch that seems to be getting slightly worse. It only happens in the bottom left of the screen and appears as a randomly flashing green/red pixel glitch. I though it may be the hdmi but it only happens with the apple app, everything else is ok. Tried it in another port and another TV too and it does the same.
