    Does anyone know how to fully remove qsearch? I manage to do it by following steps online then a few weeks later it comes back and hijacks my chrome. Help pls.

    AirPods Pro keep switching on there own

    Okay, so is there a way to make my AirPods Pro connect to my MacBook first, a lot of the time I have them jump from my Mac to my iPhone to my ipad on it's own even if I'm having anything on, can i make it stop?

    How to switch back to MacOS after dual booting Ubantu 18.04 ?

    Hi,

    I dual booted my MacBook Pro mid-2012 edition with Ubuntu 18.04.

    I did my work in Ubuntu when I want to switch from ubuntu back to macOS I don't see an option after the restart.

    I tried holding an Option key while restarting the machine, it only shows the Ubnatu partition.

    Please let me know, is there any way to list all install OS currently running on Machine i.e. in my case MacOS & Ubantu.

    One of my favorite parts of MacOS is the menubar and dock! Coming from Windows this was one of the most pleasing aspects of this platform. After months I finally have the menubar of my dreams. Post your dock and menubar in this thread! Which version of MacOS is your daily driver and why?

    "Arrange by" and "Keep arranged by" missing after clean install of macOS 10.14

    Basically title—the only options I have now are Sort by and Clean up. Arrange by is missing—it was definitely here before the clean install. Holding down the Option key does nothing. View options (Cmd+J) in Finder shows no Arrange by option.

    What am I missing? Is there a Terminal command to re-enable this?

    Help me find an app that saves window location

    Hi,

    I'm looking for a MacOS app that will let me save app specific window layouts across multiple spaces.This app MUST be able to save multiple presets. Not necessary but ideally this app, from a single press to a preset, would open the applications and spaces necessary to fulfil the saved layout.

    My use scenario for this app is to be able to restore MULTIPLE presets of app window layouts across multiple spaces depending on what I'm working on and if I'm connected to an external monitor.

    Hope this make sense.... Does an app like this exist?

    So far I tried "Stay" and "DisplayMaid" and non of them offer to save multiple presets.
    I also tried "Moom" which lets you save multiple presets but it only saves one space at a time...

    Bin or Trash?

    Just noticed, that on my laptops trash bin is named "Bin" and on desktops it's called "Trash". What is the meaning of that? I have 10.15.7 with all updates...

    Low Quality System Sounds in 10.15.7

    Wondering if anyone else has faced this issue or found a fix. Seems like about once a day after upgrading to the latest Catalina update, my Mac's system noises dip in quality to this muffled, compressed sound. For seemingly no reason. Happens over DisplayPort and on the built in speakers too. The only thing that fixes it is a reboot, but after a few hours of any kind of activity, it goes down again. I can't figure it out. Nothing has changed in Audio MIDI. I can't google it because the only results that ever come up are Bluetooth issues but this extends beyond that. Any ideas?

    Anyone still experiencing a weird 10G ethernet incompatibility with Airplay?

    16" MacBook Pro on 10.15.6 here with a Caldigit Connect 10G TB3 to 10GbE adapter. I stumbled upon this (now archived) post that mentioned a lack of compatibility with Airplay and Mac's with 10G ethernet adapters. Just curious if anyone has found a suitable workaround or bugfix.

    Does Firmware password add additional security in 2020?

    Hi,

    It now seems apple has some kind of security built-in. You must log in with your user to enter recovery mode. And it seems to restrict all kind of activity even without setting a firmware password.

    But now I'm confused. Does firmware password still add more security or is it useless as you can't do much without knowing the password of a user?

    Firmware update for old HP printer

    I have a new MacBook and I'm trying to use and old HP LaserJet 2420d. The printer needs a firmware update, but HP doesn't provide the utility software (that would be used to update the firmware) for newer macs. I downloaded the updated firmware file (.rfu), but I don't know if there's a way to upload it to the printer. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

    Is there a way to get screenshot videos to output as mp4 instead of mov automatically?

    I've already tried folder action to run ffmpeg on the output folder when a mov file gets added but it keeps breaking. For now I just have it as a right click quick action but I'd like to short circuit it even further and just get mp4. Primary purpose is to send small video snippets at work so the quality doesn't have to be good and I need small file sizes.

    Netflix crashed on Macos BigSur

    Netflix keep crashing after few seconds watching, here is the error code: S7361-1253

    I tried to reset the VRAM, clearing cache and cookies still having this problem.

    Having trouble with an install...

    I seem to be having a problem installing im guessing the latest OS update... I have had to restart my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro a few times with a error message popping up saying there was an error installing the OS... Any ideas how to fix this? This is also my first Mac so I'm not really proficient at them just yet. Thanks!
