    Am I crazy? Did I imagine we could rotate, crop, filter, color correct, etc "Videos" in Photos on macOS?

    Like the title says, I just tried doing this in Photos but all the options were grayed out. I can do it with photos on macOS. I can do it with photos and videos in iOS. Is something broken on my machine or am I misremembering?

    I really hope Moog ports their Minimoog Model D app to Apple Silicon Macs. I love that synth. For me, covid quarantine would've been so much boring without it.

    macOS installer boot loop disk? I was updating my mac and it got stuck in a boot loop so i checked the disk files and found three. When i boot into macintosh hd it works fine but installer keeps looping. I can’t seem to get rid of it. It only shows two startup disks.

    Adjust mouse acceleration on Catalina?

    I've used USB Overdrive which worked perfectly and i've used this configuration

    But for some reason this app and using my Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro is causing strange behaviour on my system. Mouse becomes unresponsive and just does not register clicks or input it's just strange behaviour i have to unplug and replug the mouse then it works but then it stops it could be within 5 min to hours. Uninstalling the software helped.

    I have tried this `defaults write .GlobalPreferences com.apple.mouse.scaling -1` and it works but with that it removes the acceleration completely which i don't like. I like to have a small amount similar to USB Overdrive.

    So i'm looking for alternatives.

    How do I view my page files on a PC?

    I want to delete TF2, Brawlhala & Adventure Capitalist. I clicked on them and then clicked show in finder and drug them to trash and emptied it but they're still showing up under applications when I look at apps on my hardrive.

    Kernel crashed my computer

    I'm pretty new at messing with this stuff, so I don't know if this is normal.

    At first I thought it was my antivirus making my mac slow. I could barely open terminal, but when I did, htop showed kernel to be running at 250% CPU (didn't even think that was possible) and then the computer crashed. I was litteraly just reading a pdf on preview, had only stuff like firefox and spotify running on the background, so I really don't know what happened. I also know what kernel is, but I don't really know how it works.

    Would really appreciate some help, thanks!

    Strange Pop-Up after every reboot to 'Sign In with Apple ID'

    I have started getting this pop up every time I reboot my old MBA 13". It looks 'off', so I have not entered my password.

    • I have not installed anything new on the laptop.
    • There is also no notification in settings to confirm my apple ID etc.
    • The mail address in quotes is the correct email address associated with the primary/first user of the mac. The popup ONLY appears when I log in using my wife's user, who has a different apple ID than the one quoted in the message. So, it's strange that it asks to update a different apple ID than the user that is logged in.
    • When I simply press 'cancel', nothing bad seems to happen and it won't come back until the next reboot.
    • I was worried about malware, so ran the latest Malwarebytes, but it found nothing.

    Has anyone seen this before?

    Is there any way to identify the process that this window belongs to once it is open? There is no app in the dock that it seems to be associated with.

    Upgraded to Catalina (fresh install) and noticing a lot of system files/junk in spotlight and finder search. I’ve never had this problem before and it’s rather tedious to exclude every folder in system preferences. Is this expected behaviour? Thanks

    The question to be answered is there in the title, but just to elaborate a bit more:

    I use 5 virtual desktops, with my browser always on desktop 3 for main tasks and 4 for background tasks. Whenever I full-screen a browser (watching YouTube or in a video call), it jumps way over to the right. This is a problem not only because it messes with how I have things ordered, but also because I can't use Sticky Notes while the window is over there. Firefox, on the other hand, stays put, so I can use Firefox with Sticky Notes, but I take my classes in Chrome (I can't record sound from Google Meet in Firefox for some reason) and use Brave for all other web browsing, and changing browsers just to be able to watch a video in full screen while also taking notes is, frankly, a pain.

    So, is there any way I can full-screen Brave or Chrome while also being able to use Sticky Notes? (I'm using Catalina, if that's important.)

    2007 iMac OS Install Issues—need help!

    I recently picked up a used, near-mint 20" 2007 iMac model A1224. Replaced the hard drive with a 1TB SSD but forgot to clone what was running before the hard drive swap. Now I'm stuck. I don't think a model this early has recovery mode and I think this shipped with Tiger but it sounds like there are 2 versions of Tiger (Intel and Power PC).

    What would you do to install an OS on this thing?

    What I've tried: put El Cap on a bootable flash drive but right when i enter apple id, it says that it's "temporarily unavailable." i take that to mean it isn't compatible with this mac.

    Can’t arrange files in a folder in my own order

    I am trying to burn some music to some CDs so I downloaded the mp3s and dragged them into the cd folder with out burning them. The song files are all in the wrong order and I was wondering if there was a way to put them in a custom order. I've been looking for an answer forever and nobody seems to know.

    Inconsistent app launch times in macOS

    I have a refurbished iMac 2019 i5/512GB SSD/24GB RAM and majority of the time apps would launch in 1-2 bounces. However I've noticed all of a sudden they take longer to launch (like after 3-6 bounces). This occurs on apps that have not been launched since a fresh boot and it happens randomly and then after a few hours or sometimes few days it seems to go back to "normal".

    I've tried clean installs of macOS Catalina and reset PRAM/NVRAM several times but I can't figure out what's causing it. I thought maybe it's an app/process issue and booted into safe mode but I see this behaviour there too. Is there some sort of weird caching that's going on which makes it faster/slower? I don't know if this is a macOS, SSD, or processor issue. iStat menus show SSD health at 100%.

    Just wondering if anyone encountered this behaviour on their macs too?

    Bootcamp not installing

    Every time I've tried to install windows via Bootcamp, it tells me that there's an error that I need to fix via fist aid in disk utility, but every time I run first aid in every section of my disk there aren't any errors that come up, Idk what to do.

    Help to find out what causes startup freezing

    Hi, 1/3 of the time when I start up my iMac it freezes after putting in password at login screen. The progress bar would go to say 70% mark and beachball comes up at the corner spinning and nothing responds. Often I have to force shut down the machine and it will start up and login again fine. I have attached these System Log from when it firsts starts up till I force it to shut down. I hope some diligent person on Reddit can tell me what can be causing this issue.

    Help! Changed Home Folder name in administrator account

    I sold my old iMac (late 2013) but while cleaning it up for the new owner I tried to change the administrator name. Well, I read that it could be dangerous changing the home folder and account name and whatnot so I chickened out, thought I wrote the correct name again and clicked ok.

    Well, i gave the machine away and it turns out that in my hurry I wrote the name wrongly in the home folder name so the new owner is locked out of making any changes to the iMac because it doesnt recognize the password. Im on my way to his house to try and fix the issue.

    ANy help?

    Is there a way to simulate having old (circa Snow Leopard) spaces?

    I miss being able to have spaces be arranged non-linearly (above each other, etc) so that I could move between them more easily without having to pass through every other space/desktop I have. Is there an app or something that would let me do that in Catalina?

    Is it possible to run a different screen saver on the secondary monitor?

    Hi I had been trying to use a different screen saver for my other display. The screen saver I am using on my MacBook Air doesn't fit the other screen's size and as a result the screensaver is usually cropped in the sides. I am running Catalina latest version if it matters. Thanks to anyone replying to this thread.
