Why does my 12 Pro Max say 5G in the top right corner? Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:34 PM PST My phone plan doesn't have 5G, only 4G LTE. Doesn't really matter because my data still works and is as fast as it's ever been but I'm kinda just curious. [link] [comments] |
iPhone 12 Pro Max iOS 14.2.1 randomly deleted all my photos and messages Posted: 30 Nov 2020 05:36 PM PST I upgraded to the 12 Pro Max, and transferred all my data from an iCloud backup the day prior. Everything transferred fine. The next day all of my photos and messages randomly were deleted, everything else was still the same. I hadn't touched any of the settings or anything. I restored my phone to factory settings and went back to the old iCloud backup from a few days prior off of my old iPhone, and when it restarted all my photos were still gone but the messages were back. The 12 Pro Max is running ios 14.2.1 and is up to date. I have photos being saved to my iCloud when you look at the iCloud settings. What happened? [link] [comments] |
Many of my contacts got deleted from my iPhone Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:02 PM PST Hello everyone, I have a problem with my contacts on my iPhone 6. Since yesterday evening many of my contacts on my phone got deleted and I don't know why. I realize it when I opened WhatsApp and only saw numbers instead of the names of them. So I went back to the contacts and saw that many of them are missing (although not all which is kinda weird). I tried many things like restarting iPhone of course, checking if contacts are synchronized over iCloud, importing contacts from SIM, allowing WhatsApp to use contacts etc., but nothing worked. Can you guys please help me out? I'm clueless what to do anymore. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Nov 2020 10:36 PM PST Short and simple got the new iphone and want to port over some things, but not all - like in time machine where you can pick some of the items to port over. Is this possible? Also, if not possible has anyone done the process of setting up from scratch as if it was your very first phone - was it worth the time? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Nov 2020 10:15 PM PST -iphone 7 -11 months old -iOS 14.0.1 -32 gig I. Just. Connected my iPhone 7 To ITunes On my PC. And it notified me of the newest. IOS update 14.2. (Which I'm aware of. And I'm not. Going to update.)And I'm currently running. 14.01 and. Since I tried syncing My photos and videos I disconnected my phone midway Realizing that ITunes does not back up my pics and videos. I realized that it was Taking old photos and videos off my computer And putting them back on my phone??!!.. After I aborted the sync and disconnecting. I cannot delete certain videos and pics in my iPhone Hardrive. And the whole reason for starting all of this was to make sure copies in all my photos were secure and backed up because my iPhone 7 has been approximately at 28g / 32g for quite some time. I really don't want to update to 14.2 currently and I really want these videos deleted from my iPhones Hardrive??.... I would really appreciate the help. Could I restore my iPhone 7 to original settings somehow because the last back up is about 12 hours before I connected with iTunes and caused this mess??. Or is it even possible to do it without updating to iOS 14.2 and going through iTunes on my pc? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Nov 2020 09:26 PM PST I accidentally approved a Calendar subscription spam, and it took over my whole Calendar. I then deleted it from there, and then I got out of the subscription, but the spam still shows up in my app search. [link] [comments] |

Liquid detected in charging hole Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:50 PM PST My phone says it can't charge from liquid detected in charging port- how long does this take to go away, and do I need to seek professional help? Any advice appreciated [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:11 PM PST Hey Everyone, I have an iPhone 6 that is currently running version 12.4.9 and has recently developed an issue where the screen becomes unresponsive to touch. A lot of the time it does respond, but after around 10 minutes it becomes very inconsistent and annoying to deal with. I have factory reset the phone as well as multiple hard resets but to no avail. There is no clear cause to this issue, however I recently was on a camp and due to the location, it was very hot so maybe overheating could be a contributing factor. Thanks. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:16 PM PST here and there my phone turns into a black screen out of nowhere and then it goes back to normal after a few seconds. i searched it up and it said that the reason it happens could be because of water damage or that somethings wrong with the software thingy but i don't know, i believe that something is wrong with my phone but at the same time i don't know. a week ago or so i dropped my phone in the toilet but nothing really happened, my speaker was fine and nothing was ruined but my phone turning into a black screen out of nowhere has happened wayyy before i dropped my phone in the toilet so i don't think it's because of the water damage. iPhone XS bricked for no reason Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:54 PM PST My XS completely bricked after updating to 14.2 on Sunday. So long story short. I filled up my gas tank while my iPhone was plugged in to Apple CarPlay and the check engine light came on. This is probably unrelated. The check engine light has since went off but about two hours into my work shift I pulled my phone out of my pocket and it was just off. It was 100% charged when I went into work. A hard reset couldn't fix it or anything. I plugged it into my moms laptop and iTunes said it was in recovery mode. Trying to restore it or do a fresh set up failed every time. There was nothing I could do to get it out. So all my data and pictures are now gone. Over 40,000 photos. Most were just memes and stuff but some were of my deceased father. I know it's my own fault for not backing that stuff up. But that's besides the point. So I just bought a 12 pro max yesterday. Thank god I could keep the same number or I would've been locked out of all my accounts since 2FA is tied to my current cell number. The only account I can't get into is Facebook because it's tied to a 2FA app on my XS and it keeps asking me for that code but I don't have access to that phone anymore as it's dead in the water. I guess my question is, what would've caused this to happen? And how could I prevent it? Do you think having my XS plugged into my cars USB port fried it or something? I had only bought that XS a little over a year ago but still. Mehhhh. I had never jailbroken it, or dropped it. I always kept it updated to the latest iOS as well. I just don't understand what could've bricked a phone that was in otherwise decent condition. I always used an authorized apple charger as well. I just keep thinking that apple CarPlay on my Ford Fusion fried my phone. But I don't think I've ever even heard of this happening. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 30 Nov 2020 02:04 PM PST Hello On 9 June 2019 I bought an iPhone 8 plus on the website: phonemarket.nl. It currently has IOS 14.2. I already emailed the website about a possible warranty. Everything was great and all and I use it a lot. I'd say about 7 hours a day (including music while locked). But around 3 weeks ago the battery was 'empty' and my phone died at 20%. Currently this happens at 60%. I don't know what caused the problem. I think just overuse of the battery. In settings, it says that my battery has a capacity of 88%. I tried to solve it by not using my phone while charging for example. But that didn't work. I think I just need a new battery. But if someone knows anything better I kindly request you'd suggest it. Also if I get a new battery, how can I stop this from happening again? (Not using it while charging or something) In any case, please let me know! Kind regards Your fellow redditor [link] [comments] |
Weird oil spots on the camera bump of my iPhone 12 Posted: 30 Nov 2020 01:22 PM PST So I got my iPhone 12 exactly one week ago and the past few days I noticed these weird almost oil spots around the camera on the back. I do not believe they were there when I got the phone and they won't go away with a wet lens wipe or with a microfiber glasses cleaning cloth any tips? Is this normal or something bad? Accessory Works Until 'Accessory Not Supported' Notification Appears Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:54 AM PST Hi. I got an old Iphone 6s Plus the other week to help me get back into some simple home recording and so far everything is working great. I also purchased a generic USB to lightning converter on Ebay to be able to use My Blue Yeti and Samson Go mics with it. I was relieved to find that the adapter worked as soon as I plugged it in and started to do a bit of vocal recording but after a few minutes it suddenly cut out and the power light on the mic went out and a notification on the phone said that the 'accessory may not be supported'. All the info I've seen so far online seems to be about people using accessories that do not work at all rather than ones that stop working after the phone identifies them as an unofficial product so I thought it worth asking. Is there way to bypass that notification so I can use my mics uninterrupted? I'm fairly resigned to this just being the way it is with Apple but would be really appreciative if anyone knows a solution as buying the phone has wiped out my spare money for the next few weeks so I'm not sure I can afford the official converter any time soon! Many thanks [link] [comments] |
iOS 14.2 Media Player on Lock Screen [Bug] Posted: 30 Nov 2020 11:04 AM PST I've been finding major bugs on both my own and my dad's iphones on 14.2, specifically regarding the Media Controls that appear on the lock screen. When connected to a bluetooth device, the media control player is always visible, even when there is no media playing or any apps open at all. Additionally, when media is playing the sync between the preview image shown and the actual media being played is off - for example, the icon shows an image of the podcast I have open in spotify while it shows that I am actually listening to an audiobook (shows the title and play time info but the image is wrong). Anyone else finding these issues too? I don't care too much about the second one, but it's annoying when you work with a Bluetooth mic in all day to have the media player take up your entire lock screen with 0 audio playing. I tried turning off notifications for certain apps and for BT devices but no luck, it seems as long as it's connected to a BT device, the media player is there on the lock screen. Just looking to discuss and find out if anyone solved this. [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to swap the globe and microphone icons under the keyboard? Posted: 30 Nov 2020 03:05 AM PST Hey, I have an xs max and when I want to use the single hand keyboard, I have to hold the globe icon and turn it on. The problem is, I can't reach the globe with a single arm so I'm wondering if it's possible to switch their position? [link] [comments] |
I can't import phones to my PC Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:47 AM PST My storage is 50% full of photos. I have maybe 8G of storage left on my phone. I tried to import using the "Photos" app on windows but, it stopped at 24. I have 9000. Now when I try to import the photos it just says "make sure your device is unlocked and you accept the notification, try again". My phone is unlocked and I don't see any notifications. I've turned iCloud off for photos, I've tried restarting my phone and PC. I've used different cords and USB ports. What are my options? Sucks to have a brand new phone feel so useless. Need help restoring an iPhone 5s’s backup to an iPhone 5 Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:16 AM PST I'm trying to restore the backup from an iPhone 5s to an iPhone 5 that has the latest possible software update, and it won't install the backup from iTunes. I get a message that the software on the iPhone 5 needs updating. Is there any way for me to get the info from my broken 5s over on the iPhone 5 that's basically like new? Any help would be appreciated greatly! [link] [comments] |
Screen clicking on an iPhone 6? Posted: 30 Nov 2020 05:26 AM PST Hi, a few days ago I got an iPhone 6 (4.7") from my uncle for free, and for the most part it's in pretty good shape. Except, the lower left corners of the display can be pushed in making a clicking sound (they don't visibly push in, though.) I've tried taking the pentalobe screws out of the bottom and pressing it in while screwing the screws back in to no avail. My uncle has replaced the battery himself but I'm assuming he did a good job because the phone is still intact and Touch ID still works. I have an iPhone 4S that does the same thing but in different areas. Anyone have a clue? [link] [comments] |
