| Posted: 07 Nov 2020 11:11 PM PST Ok so I'm new to iOS and have only been using it for less than a month. I FaceTimed a friend and it went perfectly, no glitches. But when we tried to start a group FaceTime, it wouldn't let me. I didn't see the join button in the group chat and when I tried to initiate the call, the FaceTime symbol at the top of the chat was greyed out. Even the FaceTime app wouldn't let me add a second person to the call when I tried to call them through it. When my friends tried to add the third person to our call, it just dropped me. Am I missing something? Is it a regional limitation? (I'm in Nepal) My phone has the latest version of iOS so that's not causing the problem. Is there something I need to activate? Now I am a bit stressed out as I have some of my banking information etc. On my phone and a friend said I should back up and factory reset before sending in. I did backup all the info but I forgot to system reset and now stressed out that all my info is on this phone. Anyone I can factory reset from the cloud? Looks like their is a erase all data in iCloud find my phone. Is this a full factory reset? Or does it just lock the phone?? [link] [comments]  |
| Google on safari looks different Posted: 07 Nov 2020 09:42 PM PST So the "All", "News", "Shopping", and "Videos" pages on Google look weird and I'm not sure why. The "Images" tab is normal when I tap on it, I cant send images but the font is definitely off. For reference I'm on iPhone 11, iOS 14.0.1. It might have to do with some links I clicked on yesterday, I tried to click off of them but I suspect a browser hijack occurred. Any ideas of what I should do? [link] [comments]  |

| Help! iPhone Blue screen of death - none of the reboot options have worked yet. Posted: 07 Nov 2020 12:31 PM PST Hello everyone. My son's iPhone 7 has the dreaded blue screen of death. The phone still buzzes and vibrates but there's nothing but a dark blue on the display no graphics whatsoever. We have tried to reboot the phone via iTunes and tried pressing the various buttons to get it to reboot. Nothing has worked. Posted: 07 Nov 2020 02:28 PM PST I dropped my iphone 6 in the toilet once and afterwards the screen slowly faded away until it was totally black and unusable from what i supposed was the water damage... after 1 year i finally got it able to work again but I've noticed the screen goes black on random moments. | Iphone 8 completely frozen, but weirder. IOS 14 Posted: 07 Nov 2020 06:06 PM PST My iphone 8 is completely frozen up. I took a picture on snapchat and now its stuck on that. Normally a force reset would do the trick but it wont even let me do that. The weirdest part though is that even the all i see is the picture, when i press the power button the screen goes slightly darker and comes on again when i press again. Aswell as that, when i press my thumb on the home button it vibrates the same way it does when you have to put in your password after a reset. The phone won't fully turn off either it just goes slightly darker, but strangely lights up randomly (probably a notification) Phone been stuck like this for 15 minutes. | iMessage app bar not showing sometimes Posted: 07 Nov 2020 04:57 PM PST in messages, if i begin typing a text and then add an emoji and resume typing or just go back to the keyboard (from the emojis), the app bar is gone (the bar under the message window that shows your camera roll button, etc). i have to backspace all text to get it to show again or back out of that dm to all of them and then click back into the dm and it's there again. am i doing something wrong? | Posted: 07 Nov 2020 12:39 PM PST a friend of mine has been experiencing skippy displays in her new iPhone 12, as well as her old iPhone 10 before upgrading. she was receiving weird emails and random call drops and whatnot. today she noticed her phone saying some "server" message was popping up and trying to connect, but failed. also, in her wifi settings, there was some sort of "set-up" option between her "ask to join & autojoin hotspot" options. i've never seen a setting as such. any feedback on how to proceed with caution [link] [comments]  |

I obviously can't leave the chat because it's not an iChat, and I'm still receiving messages from the people in that chat that I blocked. Given that my previous phone had always on display am trying to figure out a similar way to deal with notifications Is it possible to set notifications settings (either through settings or shortcuts) so that they only light up the screen once for each app, or each contact during a specific time frame? For e.g. friend A sends 10 WhatsApp messages in 5 mins and friend B sends 5 Instagram messages. Can I somehow get the screen to light up 2 times instead of 15???? Thanks [link] [comments]  |

Today, the screen flashed with neon green then purple vertical lines before suddenly turning black. The screen was still responsive to touch but was completely black. Prior to this, I was watching a video with the phone propped up on a surface that I later realised was slightly wet. It was in a protective case at the time. The LCI is white so I am not sure this is water damage, also considering the phone was not exposed to water very much. Now the phone seems to have switched off but it was running at low battery before this all happened anyway. Has anyone had a similar issue before or know what is going on? Thanks in advance. I know about fakes on ebay, but the price was not that low that it would be impossible for it to be true, and the seller had thousands of good reviews without any negative ones. The Iphone is new with sealed original packaging, but the IMEI and serial number are not on the back of the box like it should be. Did I just buy a fake iphone? [link] [comments]  |

I can use my phone and nothing will pop up my watch doesn't show them either. I have to go in and check and see if I have a new message or not. It's kinda irritating me. When I connect the usb my iPhone asks if I will allow my pc to see photos but and that didn't pop up earlier. It seems like iTunes doesn't recognize my phone either even tho J can see my phone's photos thru my pc. Does anyone know how I could solve this? [link] [comments]  |
| XS Max ambient light sensor broke and overheats Posted: 07 Nov 2020 05:51 AM PST My iPhone XS Max's Ambient Light Sensor seems shorted out and generate a lot of heat near the earpiece. If the phone is shut off, the heat isn't generated and Face ID works fine (just for around a minute after turning the phone on). If it's hot near the earpiece, then Face ID doesn't work completely. | iPhone XS Stuck at recovery/restore screen Posted: 07 Nov 2020 04:35 AM PST Hey guys. The other day my iPhone XS wouldn't charge, I had it plugged in charging for over 2 hours but it just wouldn't turn on.. The battery with the low charge image was displayed so I know that the phone detected the charger. The phone is also in perfect physical condition. I googled this and it said to reset the iPhone by pressing the vol up button, vol down button, and holding the power off/on button in until the apple logo appeared. I did this and after many attempts the apple logo kept flashing on and off Forward to the next day the phone is stuck at the recovery/restore screen I have plugged the phone into a computer with iTunes, and iTunes detects the phone and asks me to update it, when I update it, it says ''update failed couldn't find phone'' i then try to restore it through iTunes and it just fails.. I really don't know whats happened, at first I thought the battery was dead but not quite sure what to do next, any advice much appreciated [link] [comments]  |
