However whenever I try to turn it on, the Apple logo shows for a bit, and then the screen goes black. This keeps happening, the Apple logo will flash and then screen turns off. I saw some feedback that I have to update the phone somehow.. but it's a brand new phone. Could I have purchased a faulty phone? [link] [comments]  |
| lost apple id now I'm shit outta luck Posted: 19 Nov 2020 11:20 PM PST So I bought my Iphone XS Christmas 2017 and created an apple ID and it worked just fine. Around 2019 I got locked out of my apple id and was unable to recover it. The security question was my birthday and when I entered it, it says its wrong. The other option is to do it by email but my email is my apple ID so it literally just comes back to the same prompt. I continued using my phone without being able to download any apps or update anything. Finally I'd had enough of it and tried to factory reset my phone to get a new apple id since I was locked out of this one. Really dumb because now I have this activation lock with my apple id and there's no way to get past it. Any idea what to do I contacted apple support when it originally happened about a year ago and they basically told me to piss off. I get its kinda my fault with the birthday thing but I have no idea why thats wrong I believe someone may have gotten into my apple id and now im just fucking screwed. What is wrong with apple honestly, its like I get locked out of my apple id and now I cant even use my phone. So if my apple id gets hacked I just lose my phone???? [link] [comments]  |

When I swipe from the bottom of my phone, I see his Homepod, light, etc. He has deactivated family sharing with me. (I'm also no longer interacting with him) I have turned off family sharing on my device and then rebooted my phone. I still see his devices. | Posted: 19 Nov 2020 12:55 PM PST my iphone 7 was working fine and charging normally until i tried charging it yesterday and the charging symbol appeared but the battery percentage was decreasing. i tried letting it charge overnight but the percentage was still decreasing, right before the phone died i looked at the battery capacity in the settings and it was on 77% so i figured i probably need to change the battery which i did today. when i changed the battery i cleaned the charging port also and the phone turned on at 33% so i thought the problem was solved until i tried charging it again and the problem is still there, the battery keeps decreasing even though with the new battery the capacity is 100%. the same cable works on other phones and airpods just fine so i know it's not a cable issue. is there any other way to solve this problem?? Posted: 19 Nov 2020 05:02 PM PST I have a 50GB allowance a month but my wifi has been out for 3 days so I've been using personal hotspot, in my mobile data settings it says 'Current Period: 39.1GB - Personal Hotspot: 36.3GB) However, when I click personal hotspot it now says 51.2GB instead of 36.3, does this mean in total I've used 51.2GB ALTOGETHER for the whole time I've had my phone? or just for the current month? I'm confused Vodafone charge an extra £6.50 per 250mb you go over your limit so if I am actually over it I'll turn it off but I can't understand why on one screen it says my hotspot has used 36GB then on the next it says I've used 51GB [link] [comments]  |

Also phones visualization in the upper left corner is strangely grey, is that normal or maybe points to something? Authorized multiple times, connected using cable, enabled/disabled wifi sync, made backups to icloud and to the PC too, restart the phone and the PC... Now my whole photo library is on iCloud but the newest ones can't be uploaded due to not enough storage because it wants to save all my photos again to iCloud. | iPhone 7 screen no longer responsive to touch Posted: 19 Nov 2020 06:20 AM PST I have had this phone for about 4 years and today it decided that it no longer wanted to respond to touch. The home button and lock button seem to work fine. I hard resetted twice, but I can not get past the lock screen without the passcode as the screen doesn't work. I have not had any problems with the phone over the past four years, other than battery health being 83%. I believe it's running iOS 14.1. I can not back up the phone through my macbook as the phone is not recognizing the charger as an accessory. I ordered an iPhone 12 pro, but it is not coming until 12/4-12/29 thanks to backorder. I purchased it with the premise of trading in my 7. I will probably have to take it into apple today, but is there anything I should try out before I do that? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 19 Nov 2020 12:02 AM PST about three weeks ago, my phone fell into the shower. It worked fine after that but my music oddly skipped around for the remainder of the shower so i turned it off. I didn't have any problems until this past week. My texts would say that they were still in the process of sending, though the other person still received them. on my screen, all texts would show out of order and i would be missing certain texts. sometimes i would send a text and it would say it went through and sent as a text message, and i would come back later and there was no trace of the text message and the other person didn't receive them. with snapchat, sometimes i will get a snapchat in my notifications and it won't pop up, even if i'm using data/have great connection. or i'll send a snap or message and press send and it won't say i sent anything (no retry or failed to send). while this is happening, all of my other social medias and downloaded apps will crash as soon as i open it or the screen will be stuck on whatever the loading frame usually is (sometimes logo, sometimes black screen) until i close it. This doesn't fix unless i restart my phone once or twice. And then it happens again within the hour or later on, it's happened numerous times everyday. 61/64 gb are used so i've tried deleting pictures and messages but it hasn't helped. I have a software update I can download and I plan to once i get rid of more space, but i can't find any information about similar things happening to people. my phone is legit killing itself from the inside. also forgot to mention, the other person on a facetime call will just be black and i can't hear or see but they can see and hear me. never a network issue. or my apps will just tell me to retry with loading, never a network issue. if the software update doesn't fix it, do you have any suggestions or know what the problem could be? I have no idea if the water caused it, but it's the only significant thing i can think of, though my screen and touch sensitivity and buttons all work fine. seems like a software issue.
