Does AirDrop Compress Image Quality in Any Way if "All Photos Data" is Unselected? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 06:35 PM PST I know leaving this unchecked removes some meta data and edit history which isn't always necessary, but does doing so reduce a photo's image quality in any way? [link] [comments]
Nvidia GeForce Now available for iOS Posted: 22 Nov 2020 04:26 AM PST I'm not sure if anyone said it but GFN is now available through Safari on iOS. GeForce Now lets you do cloud-play with your current games from Epic Games/Steam/Uplay/Origin. Sadly, not every game is available. What happens when you share an Apple Maps link or an iCloud contact with someone on Android? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 02:51 PM PST I need to get a new phone since my iPhone 7 keeps fucking up and I can't afford / don't want to pay for an expensive new iPhone, so I'm going to buy an Android that has nearly the same specs as the newer iPhones and has good battery life. Thing is, I do a lot of deliveries to job sites for my work and my boss shares the addresses as Apple Maps links and the foreman contact info as iCloud contacts over iMessage. [link] [comments]
Settings suggestions - silence unknown callers Posted: 22 Nov 2020 07:07 AM PST So for about 2-3 days I had to stay on airplane mode to avoid some incoming calls. Stayed on wi-fi and connected to the regular folks. Now, iOS setting suggestion to silence unknown callers popped up in the phone app. I was quite pleased to see it, as I didn't know about it. Is this a co-incidence? [link] [comments]
Why does Apple make iOS updates that are unusable on older devices due to battery drain? Posted: 22 Nov 2020 06:38 AM PST I have an iPhone X and I am still very happy with it. I have no reason to spend a thousand dollars. However, I'm still on iOS 11.3 and haven't updated as I've been told by countless people including Apple employees that updating to 14 will destroy my battery life. The only reason I want to update is because several Apps require iOS 12 or higher. [link] [comments]
iOS 12.4.9 on iPod touch 6 - horrifically bad Posted: 21 Nov 2020 01:20 PM PST I have a 6th generation iPod touch that I use only for music. Despite its bad battery life since the day I got it (my 18th birthday, almost 3 years ago) it has been a great little device. However, since updating to iOS 12.4.9 a few days ago, it is practically unusable. Whenever I go into Apple Music, it constantly freezes. I can't skip songs, can't view my upcoming songs, can't skip through the song. I can go to the home screen fine, but then I go back into Apple Music and it's frozen again. I close it and re-open it, it works for a second, then it's frozen again. Since Apple Music is the only thing I use my iPod for, and I use it every day, this is a huge issue. Is anyone else having this issue, or is it just me? I know there's probably not a lot of you out there with a 6th gen iPod touch, but it's worth asking. If the issue is with iOS, I can hang on to this iPod for a bit longer. But if it's just me and no one else is experiencing this crippling issue, then it might be time for an iPod upgrade. I've been eyeing up the 7th gen since it was released, and was extremely close to buying it a few months ago, but stopped myself. I'm highly considering it again... [link] [comments]

[QUESTION] Why does orientation lock only provide one type of landscape view? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 09:02 AM PST I just got my iPhone and I used to use orientation lock on my Android, but on that device the orientation lock kept the screen in portrait mode but changed landscape view depending on orientation (when you forced the device like in YouTube full screen or something). Is there a way to get that on IOS, because mine only provide one orientation of e.g. YouTube full screen. [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Nov 2020 09:27 AM PST Contexual Orientation Hello iPhone users, So I recently switched to iPhone after having exclusively androids since the iPhone 4. I jumped ship because of how horrible app optimization was on android and how bad resale value was. Since switching to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, I was pleasantly surprised of how premium the experience feels and how smooth everything is. The only thing, I absolutely miss from the android days is the ease of screen rotation. Let me elaborate, I am someone who holds my phone in weird positions in search of maximum wrist comfort. Therefore, I always (ALWAYS) have screen rotation locked and there was a feature on my Pixel where if you rotate your phone while rotation is locked, you get a small bubble in the corner of your screen, asking if you want to rotate, and if you do want to, tap it and it rotates. The orientation lock remains on and you never have to worry about annoying rotations. I've been looking tirelessly if this feature can somehow be implemented but I digress. So what I'm asking is, am I singular in my rotation annoyance? And can we please push to have it on iOS. That concludes my rant. [link] [comments] |
