    Why is other taking up so much storage

    with the release of Big Sur on mac, I've been trying to update my Macbook air to big sur but I don't have enough storage. My MacBook has 121 gb and only 14 gb available. The installer for Big Sur is already 12 gb. When I go to check what is taking up the most storage everything is taking up little except for other. Other takes up 60 gb. How do I reduce how much it takes and why does it take up so much. Thanks in advance.

    Apple Pencil disconnecting

    So every time I want to use my iPad with my Apple Pencil, the pencil gets disconnected every single time and it takes an extremely long time to connect it back again. I do have extra pencil tips and changed it when needed. I lost the cap thing that goes on the top of the pencil where the charger thing to connect the pencil to the iPad is (in case that has to do with the problem?) and why does it do this?!

    Screen recording

    On the iMac 27-inch Retina 5K 2020 that came out in Aug 2020, what is the recorded resolution, frame rate (fps), and the file size for one minute and is it in HEVC format or H.264 format when using the build in screen recording feature on the iMac. And is their a way to change the screen record resolution and other things like that in settings?

    Why are there different models for each IPhone?

    Are Apple Care replacements new devices or refurbished ones?

    I recently found out that when you go to apple and get an iPhone replaced, its not brand new but a refurbished model APPARENTLY.. can someone that knows more about this confirm? I would be pissed to have a refurbished device as a replacement, as refurbished iPhones normally go for much lower prices ..then why dont they return some money when replacing with a refurbished device?

    MacBook Pro Screen Replaced

    My brother dropped my MacBook Air and I was wondering how hard it is to replace the screen on it? I really can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars for someone else to do it. Can anyone give me advice on what to do or tell me how hard it is to replace the screen on it??

    Late 2013 MBP running mojave 10.14, no bluetooth hardware found

    Forgot to mention in the title, the machine is a late 2013 13" retina mbp.

    I've done all of the forum fixes I could find including deleting the bluetooth plist file and resetting the SMC, but I am unable to turn bluetooth on as I have an error saying "Bluetooth: not available."

    When trying to run the bluetooth file exchange app to check for functionality I get an error from that saying that the bluetooth hardware cannot even be detected.

    Does this point to a hardware issue at this stage? Not sure where to go from here.

    LG Ultrafine 5K Issues

    Hey guys, hoping someone can help me out. I sent my dad my LG Ultrafine 5K, and he's having a few issues. Here is what's going on:

    • The LG 5K Display is being registered as connected to the laptop
    • LG Ultrafine 5K is not turning on (screen remains black, and nothing shows up)
    • He's receiving the following message: "CANNOT USE THUNDERBOLT ACCESSORY. Connect accessory using a thunderbolt capable cable" (yes, that is how it is spelled)

    I tried having him unplug/re-replug everything, and opening and closing the laptop lid. I'm 99% sure he purchased the correct cable, but I guess I should verify that with you guys too.

    He recently upgraded to Big Sur, so unsure if there are any compatibility issues with that.

    Anyway - any help is appreciated.

    Apple Music Library Gone

    Hello. I'm really stumped and frustrated. I have an IPhone X and it is updated to IOS14. I had a subscription to Apple Music and had a pretty extensive library. Briefly I decided to try Apple One (still in trial period) this evening I decided it wasn't worth the $30 and tried to revert to my previous plan. It did not have Apple Music listed as an option to purchase separately when I was downgrading back. I figured no big deal, I'd just resubscribe through purchases my previous 9.99 plan. Big Mistake! iCloud wasn't linked to my music and now my entire library not on my computer is gone. The fixed on the web don't seem to be working because there is no Icloud music library option to be found in settings. Is there another work around? Any trouble shooting or suggestions are appreciate. Thanks for taking the time to read

    Hi there, has anyone run into this before? Running an app, FusionCast in this instance, reads this before it'll finish creating a video from an mp3 file and image is halted and I'm left with "The operation couldn’t be completed. (HaneulCore.HCRenderer.RenderError error 1.)";

    USB-C to USB-A adapter for iPhone 12

    Hi all,

    I'm going to be purchasing an iPhone 12 next week. I have USB ports in most of my electrical outlets installed in my home. I'm disappointed that none of them will fit the usb-c design.

    If I purchase a usb-c to usb-a adapter to plug into my usb outlet, would I essentially be cancelling out the speed capability of the usb-c?

    I need to update my phone, but I don't have enough storage

    I have an iPhone SE that is currently running iOS 11. I plan to get a new phone soon, but right now iOS 11 is too low for a lot of applications to function. My phone only has 15 GB and 8.52 of them are taken up by "system", I have no photos or apps that aren't absolutely necessary. I cleared up 2.6 GB today, but I would need 6.74 GB total to be free if I wanted to download iOS 14. If I wanted to do this, I would have to delete all of my apps and then reinstall them after updating. My solution to this is to update to iOS 12, because it would require less storage. How do I do that?

    TLDR: I want to update my iPhone running iOS 11 to iOS 12, how can I do that?

    Is it normal to not get an estimated turnaround time for a repair?

    I had a Genius Bar appointment at the beginning of this month to take a look at my built-in camera on my MacBook Pro which wasn't working in any application despite several troubleshooting attempts. The store associate said it would be shipped out that day or next day. I've been checking the mysupport.apple.com site which hasn't updated since it still says waiting to be shipped. I've been trying to get in touch with the store directly over the phone but I'm redirected to Apple Support. I called today and the representative I spoke to was able to speak with one of the store managers and relayed that it's at the repair center but they haven't started repairs on it. When I asked if there was a new estimated time frame, she said they didn't have one. Is this normal? Also trying to be mindful about COVID restrictions I just have never had an issue with communication or expectations from Apple even if there was a delay.

    How do you unhide an app that you previously removed from home screen?

    Sorry the wording of the title is bad, I couldn't figure the right way to write it haha.

    Anyways, I went to remove an app and instead of deleting it, I pressed remove from home screen. The app isn't deleted from my phone, but its not on my home screen.

    How would I get it back on my home screen? I tried to but I couldn't.

    I don't need help on how to do this I'd like to know how other others handle this process. I store all my photos on an external hard drive. I use the photos app which usually crashes on large transfers or image capture.

    Do others use third party apps? Anything that's popular among Apple fans?

    I have been using Apple mail app for my work email. My work email is Google mail. This has been working quite well all these while but has suddenly stooped working since today morning. However, my personal email which is also Google Mail and is working well using the same Apple mail app. Any pointers as to what could be the issue? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Backups take 6GB of 5GB of my iCloud storage????
