- This is a 2018 13 inch MacBook bro, my brother dropped a phone on it and the screen broke. I was wondering what the repairs will cost. The glass in this Mac is too thin didn’t protect the display.
- I wanted to clear out my iCloud drive. I installed iCloud on my PC, logged into my account, and deleted all of my iCloud data. Then it hit me. I did this in less than 5 minutes and without a 2 factor authentication prompt. Why is Apple ok with that? Do you think Apple's existing 2FA support is good?

| MacBook stolen by courier PostMates and Apple won't give refund Posted: 30 Oct 2020 10:56 PM PDT I purchased a MacBook Pro from the Apple website back in July and had it on expedited shipping, which is basically next day shipping. I received a confirmation email saying that the courier will be Postmates. I had no idea Postmates was going to deliver my package btw. Comes the next day, I received text messages from Apple's delivery texts saying that the package is on the way and will arrive at 12:30 PM. Then 12:32 hit, I received another text saying that the driver is almost there, of course I opened my front door and waited in front. 10 minutes later, I saw no one, yet I received a text saying it was delivered. This was when I got really worried, so I called Apple support. They said to give it till the end of the day. Still nothing. Right away, I thought that the driver most likely stole my package. I contacted both Apple and Postmates, yet both parties cannot get any information regarding this driver at all. I even got in contact with local law enforcement. Apple refused to give me a refund because their system shows that someone picked up the package and it was "delivered". I tried to dispute it with my bank 2x and both failed. Postmates can't track down the driver despite me giving them the confirmation code given to me by Apple. Idk how all of this works internally but I'm at a loss. The detective that is working on my case don't know how to proceed either. Its been over 3 months since this happened. I honestly want to give up but I want to reach out to see if anyone out there have any way of helping me out. Grad school is tough without an old and slow laptop ðŸ˜. Thank you for taking the time to read this. TLDR; MacBook stolen by courier and Apple won't give refund. Through bank dispute, I found out the Driver name was Abel M from the North San diego/ Carlsbad/San Marcos area. No exact last name given. | Wi-Fi issues on iPhone ever since update Posted: 31 Oct 2020 08:26 PM PDT Hello! So Thursday night, my phone automatically downloaded iOS 14.1, the next morning and throughout the day, I was out so I just used data. As soon as I got back home though, the WiFi was not working at all. It showed the symbol on the top and it says "Connected", but when I open YouTube or any social medias, nothing will load. Occasionally it will work, but only for like a few minutes. I tried everything, from hard resetting and resetting network data, to factory resetting my whole entire phone, and I'm STILL having this issue. Apple Support has no fix and I've tried all the troubleshooting. I have to keep using data, but my data is kinda slow and I wish I could just use my WiFi. This problem only started since iOS 14.1 was installed. I wish I could downgrade but I can't, I might just have to deal with this terrible bug until they decide to actually fix it. And, no, it's not my router that's the issue. All other devices work completely fine on the WiFi network. If anyone has a fix or something, please let me know cause this is truly annoying and I don't want to keep using data like this. [link] [comments]  |

| Copy tones, music, and audiobooks from iPhone 6 Plus to Windows 10? I am using iTunes for Windows (v12.10.10.2) on a Windows 10 PC. Is there a way, within or without iTunes to copy tones, music, and audiobooks from iPhone 6 Plus to my Windows 10 PC? I have no problem using all the other services which require my location. I have also contacted Apple Support, which they had no clue and kept asking me to send them detail log (Which I did) but they never proactively call me back with a solution. The most I got from Apple in this whole thing was an email saying someone logged into my iCloud account from a PC but that's it. Apple says they have 2FA but it doesn't seem super consistent in its prompting and it's even more disappointing that they don't allow me to at least implement third party 2FA when logging into my Apple account. I'm just surprised that in a world where 2FA capability is becoming the standard, a major tech giant like Apple doesn't seem to have much in the way of options for it. [link] [comments]  |

| Transfer in-app data from iPhone 6s to iPhone 12 Mini Posted: 31 Oct 2020 08:49 PM PDT Hi, I'm Jim I'm a competitive Rubik's Cube speedsolver of ten years and I've had an app on my iPhone 6s of four years called ChaoTimer where I start, time, and automatically save all my times. In my main session, I have nearly 10K solves (numbers like 8.71 seconds, 12.23 seconds, etc.), another having 3K solves, and ≈10 other sessions having solves ranging from 50-550 more solves. In other words, there's no way I can transfer these many solves manually. The app has no "cloud" based account where I can login off my new phone I might get (iPhone 12 Mini) where they will all transfer to. My current iPhone is backed up and I have the ability to make more backups and do whatever else is needed. I'm not too experienced with all the settings of iOS but I don't know if I can store in-app data into iCloud where I may be able to blow it up on the new phone. Can I do in-app data transfer? If I load the iPhone 6s backup onto my 12 Mini (if I can), will all the times and sessions cross over? I'm a competitive competitor and I can't afford to carry around a brand new phone that doesn't have all my times saved. I rather carry around my old iPhone 6s with my times (which isn't really slow right now but my dad wants everyone in the house to upgrade (rest of the family it's on 7s' and 8's)) rather than upgrade to a new phone that would help me in the long run. | Mac pro display shuts off on startup Posted: 31 Oct 2020 08:33 PM PDT Hello everyone, I have a mid 2014 Macbook Pro 13 inch with macOS Mojave 10.14.6. A couple of days ago, I spilled water on it. I let it dry, and turned it on today. Everything but the track pad worked. Later, as I restarted it, the screen would not turn on. I have restarted it in safe mode and the screen will turn on. However, when booting up normally, the screen shuts off completely when the loading bar is about 3/4 of the way done, right as the keyboard lights up. Connecting it to an external display shows that only the screen is off, the rest of the computer is functioning normally as I can use the mac through the external display. I have tried rebooting, rebooting from safe mode, resetting nvram and reinstalling macOS. Any help on this subject would be appreciated. Worst case scenario I can just use an external monitor. | Apple Watch refuses to install third-party compatible apps Posted: 31 Oct 2020 01:26 PM PDT I accidentally deleted some apps from my Apple Watch and now they refuse to reinstall. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the apps in question; I've tried searching Settings to see if something there is causing issues; I tried deleting all my music off my watch to see if it was a storage issue, I even tried unpairing and repairing my Apple Watch. Nothing works. Does anyone have any idea why they refuse to reinstall? The apps are "Battery Life - check runtimes" and Google Maps. I want to change it, so that I am the organizer instead. I know you can't directly change the organizer. So my plan is to do this:
We have a substantial number of apps, movies, tv shows etc, purchased by different family members. We also subscribe to tv+, music, news, and storage, all shared. Photo album I can duplicate and the calendar feels ok to lose. Has anyone here performed a stunt like that and can attest to the odds of getting it right? Ideally everything should be like it is now, only with myself as organizer instead of my wife. But I have heard e.g. that you can only join one family group per calendar year. One of our kids joined the existing group this summer. Does that mean she wouldn't be allowed to switch to my newly created one? What happens to data that family members have stored in shared iCloud Drive storage between the time they leave one group and join another? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

This is obvious to me because everything is heavily split left song right. It's only when I close Apple Music, reopen it and begin to play again that they sound normal again. Posted: 31 Oct 2020 12:55 PM PDT I've got an iPhone SE second gen, and though I know its battery life isn't the greatest I've run into a weird scenario, if I'm watching a YouTube video for 15 minutes, the battery drains about 4%, if I'm hearing music (locally stored but I'm subscribed to Apple Music and have library sync on) then it uses around 7 or 8%, which is weird because I'm not streaming, the display is off and the volume is the same. I'm a bit reluctant to do a factory reset because I have my banking app installed and it's is kind of a hassle to reinstall it. Could the library syncing be the culprit here? Thanks for your input.
