| Whatssap contact shortcuts not showing in Siri search after iOS 14 Posted: 29 Sep 2020 09:10 PM PDT Hi. I'm using iPhone 11 Pro on 14.0.1. There's an issue that's been persistent and has gotten worse (on iOS 14) concerning Whatssap contact shortcuts on Siri search. Let me break it up iOS version wise: Before iOS 14- Certain contacts in Whatssap wouldn't show up on Siri search (Home Screen pull down search) despite them being on Whatssap and also there being an active chat in Whatssap with them. Others show up without issue. Also, long pressing on the message option doesn't show message using Whatssap although voice and video call through Whatssap options are always available and work as expected. Apple support (through the apple support help app) had no insights except to tell me that it's a third party issue so they can't help. Post iOS 14- No contacts on Whatssap show up on Siri search. Not even active group chats show up on Siri search. It's like Siri isn't recognizing Whatssap at all. As if Whatssap is working in its own isolated system that's invisible to iOS. FYI- Siri search options for Whatssap are all toggled on. Long pressing on Whatssap icon opens the pop up that gives options of search, chat etc within the Whatssap app, and Whatssap works properly. Only issue is it's visibility to Siri. Have already hard reset my phone and reinstalled everything with iTunes restore. No improvement. Anyone have any ideas? I thought the interoperability of messaging with Siri should be something quite basic and should work without issue. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot [link] [comments]  |

I've been able to slightly fix it by turning my WIFI on my phone off and back on but the problem is reoccurring. Anyone knows what's going on and how to fix it? | Posted: 29 Sep 2020 10:25 AM PDT 1. iPhone model and iOS version iPhone 7 running iOS 14 2. Purchase date, country and nature of purchase Certified pre-owned purchase from Boost Mobile 7/2020 USA 3. What is the issue, how often does it occur and how to replicate it? To put it plainly, my phone has two major issues: 1: The lower half of the phone (home button haptic and speaker) will occasionally stop working 2: If the proximity sensor is obstructed enough (usually by rubbing a rag or finger over it) it will send my phone into a reset loop. The fastest way to get it to stop is to obstruct the sensor again while the screen is lit up with the apple logo The haptic/speaker issue just happens when it wants to with no apparent trigger. Whereas the proximity sensor is ongoing and you can easily send the phone into a loop with a rag or finger over the sensor enough times 4. What caused the issue? It sustained no prior damage of any kind prior to these issues arising during my time owning the phone. As far as Boost is concerned, the phone passed all of their tests. 5. What did you try to resolve the issue and what was the result? I have tried multiple variations of a reset (factory, soft, hard, full, partial). Ive reset the settings. Ive restored it to factory mode. I removed the case to see if that was the issue and it still occurs. Even when I had its battery replaced and it was diagnostically scanned, the scanner found no issues. Please help as I do not have the money to get a new phone at this time. I've been trying my best to just work around these problems but they just keep happening and I am at my wits end. Thank you. [link] [comments]  |

I dropped my iPhone 8 yesterday and the screen shattered completely - it still "lights up" in a few little stripes but is pretty much totally dead. Not a huge deal, I made appointment to get it replaced on friday. HOWEVER, I had alarms set for 9am every morning, and lo and behold the alarm still went off this morning. Without access to the screen all I can do is use the button on the side to snooze it every 10 minutes, which I've been doing for the last 7 hours. Is there any way to either disable the alarm or turn off the phone altogether? I have tried:

After it happened he went to Apple to get it replaced and we never even thought of taking a photo. Does anybody happen to have a photo of a broken iPhone Xs Max screen that they made themselves? We both got AirPods earlier in the year and everything was working great until about 2-3 weeks ago (maybe the iOS 14 update?). Now my AirPods and her AirPods auto connect to both phones. We have shared an iCloud account for 10 years now, same music, pictures. It has never been a problem. (One person in AirPods sub-Reddit suggested that we split account.). My wife also got an Apple Watch for her birthday in late September. Could it be related to the Apple Watch? With CoVID, our desks are close to each other separated by just a wall. We would like a "pin" feature, so I can "pin" my AirPods to my iPhone and her to "pin" her AirPods to her iPhone. But apparently, we cannot do that. My wife is dumping her AirPods to go back to her old Bluetooth device and only use them when she's away from the office.... [link] [comments]  |

| I used my iphone to break my fall today. Posted: 29 Sep 2020 03:49 AM PDT So I was walking, tripped, and like a genius, used my phone screen to catch my fall. Can't see much on the screen and it's unresponsive everywhere. Also like a genius, nothing was backed up or saved to the cloud or anything. I pretty much just used it for calls/texts/some pics and notes. Not too upset about the phone itself, just the pictures and notes. I tried plugging it into my laptop(acer using windows 10), but on itunes it says "To allow access, please respond on your iPhone..." Can't do that with an unresponsive screen. Any way to access/save my notes and pictures? Can I use my laptop in any way to view what's on my phone without having to tell my phone to trust my laptop? Some kind of itunes alternative maybe? It opens the app fine, let's me put the info but after trying to log in, a message appears saying that there's an error to you request or something.
