Can I use a single stick of RAM in MBP 2011 Posted: 29 Sep 2020 11:42 PM PDT I bought a MacBook for $100, upgraded the HDD to an 128SSD, but one of the ram slots kicked out, can I use a single stick of 16GB ram or can I only use 8GB? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Sep 2020 11:01 PM PDT I saw a thread with the same request 2 years ago, but then the market wasn't as familiar to USB-C as it is now. I am tired of using my G502 with a USB-C Hub. At this point, any recommendations for a decent USB-C mouse would be appreciated (might use it for casual gaming). Otherwise, is sticking USB-A type mouse still the best option? Macbook Pro 2019 13" - built in keyboard and track pad do not work after computer is opened. Posted: 29 Sep 2020 10:51 PM PDT After I open the mac and login with my fingerprint, the mac's keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. Then after 30 seconds it asks if I have a bluetooth keyboard to hook up. Then after another 30 seconds both the keyboard and track pad connect and say they work. Has anyone else have this problem? It literally came out of no where. [link] [comments]

MacBook Pro (mid 2014) bluetooth not available issue Posted: 29 Sep 2020 06:40 PM PDT Hi guys, I looking for some help. A couple days ago my bluetooth dropped and then cut out entirely. When selecting it on the main bar, it simply says" Bluetooth: Not Available". System settings no longer has a Bluetooth option, and system report says "No information found". I've tried a couple of the standard things to fix it:
I was wondering if perhaps reinstalling a fresh OS would fix it? or is it most likely a hardware problem? On an interesting note, my wifi works completely fine--it's just the bluetooth that's not working. Also, I haven't dropped my Mac in a long, long time, and there has been no water damage that I can remember. [link] [comments]

2013 Macbook Air's battery is shot - will replacing it improve the laptop's performance? Posted: 29 Sep 2020 07:32 AM PDT My battery is shot on my MacBook Air 2013. The laptop is also having some performance issues really for the first time since owning it. I want to stretch the life of this machine, and hoping that a battery replacement at Genius Bar will help the computer perform better. What do you think? [link] [comments]
Damaging butterfly keyboard from button mashing? Posted: 29 Sep 2020 04:00 PM PDT I have a 2019 MacBook Pro which has the butterfly keyboard. I use it sometimes to play rhythm games that aren't incredibly CPU intensive. These games often involve inputs at a very fast pace (or spamming keys quickly, if you will), and I am wondering if prolonged playing with these kind of inputs would ruin the butterfly keyboard considering how flat they are and how prone they are to breaking. It's not the most comfortable keyboard but it is manageable, but I am mainly asking if prolonged button mashing will damage the keyboard over time that would lead to potential issues. TIA [link] [comments]
Delays with AirPods Pro and Magic Keyboard Posted: 29 Sep 2020 03:02 PM PDT I have a very annoying issue with my Magic Keyboard and my Airpods Pro connected to my Macbook 16: Sometimes there is a huge delay in keyboard strokes while I am on a call with my Airpods Pro. Other than a delay, a single keyboard stroke sometimes is executed multiple time e.g. a single backspace press deletes the whole line. I am having the same issue with a Macbook 13, which I use for work. It only appears if I use the Airpods. Anybody out there with similar issues? I have no idea how to solve this. I already tried repairing the devices multiple times. [link] [comments]
MacBook Pro 2018 sleep wake failure issue Posted: 29 Sep 2020 01:33 PM PDT So my MacBook Pro 2018 is giving me this issue everyday since last month. I have tried reinstalling macOs but nothing helps. it overheats under normal usage. I have tried using these commands: - 'sudo pmset standby 0 sudo pmset autopoweroff 0' but nothing helps. please help me???? I am a student and if nothing works out I'll have to get a 13 inch Mac with 16gig ram of the new cheaper MacBook pros coming with ARM chips after trading this in because I can't afford a 16 inch and hardware repair will easily cost 500/6004. pls help Sleep Wake failure in EFI Failure code:: 0x03000010 0x0000001f Please IGNORE the below stackshot Date/Time: 2020-09-28 04:58:45 +0500 OS Version: ??? ??? Mac won't go pass the startup screen. Posted: 29 Sep 2020 11:50 AM PDT Oh boy. My macbook pro just shut off immediately and never turned on normally after. I can easily start it up to the apple logo, but that's it. Sometimes it begins to load, it will load really fast for a second then stop midway, from there it will either stay frozen like that or the logo will disappear and it will just stay on a white screen. I tried booting it up using CMD + R, but after that, the loading bar loads up even faster and stops also midway. Sometimes it will keep rebooting on its own? [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Sep 2020 07:56 AM PDT SOLVED I have a MacBook Air 2019 that won't charge. I've tried a number of times and no luck. I really need it to be able to charge as I need it for school. Any tips, suggestions, etc? Edit: Unsure what the issue was, Apple support couldn't get it going either over the chat. Prayed very desperately that it would work as I need it for Bible school, and sure enough it's charging as normal again. [link] [comments]

Macbook Air 11” (early 2015) A1465 Loose hinge? (images provided) Posted: 29 Sep 2020 02:09 AM PDT Not sure if the hinge is loose but here are some pics Hi all, my macbook air's screen would fall completely back when the screen's opened passed a certain angle, and I went to ask for a quote for how much it'll cost to have it repaired. The man said the entire LCD screen would need to be replaced and would cost £££ but I'm sure there are alternatives to getting this part fixed as there's nothing wrong with the screen itself, just the loose hinge. Any opinions? Thanks all oh and btw, he's tightened the screws but it still falls back note: repost from r/Macbookair [link] [comments] |
