I had no idea about this awesome feature. Apparently now in Satellite view of the Maps app it will show nighttime view with light pollution.

Find my IPhone Function saved me $1000, kudos to apple!

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 11:01 AM PDT

Last night I, my wife and my son went for a family outing to Dairy Queen. On the way out I put my IPhone 11 Pro Max in my pocket.I then proceeded to get my almost 7 month old son in his car seat.

All is well, we get to Dairy Queen and I notice my IPhone is not in my pocket and not near my seat. So I figured maybe I had put it down and taken it out of my pocket before opening the door and that it must have been on my kitchen table.

We return home it's around 8:20pm, my phone is not on the table. I search frantically everywhere in the house, in my driveway and in my car I cannot find it. I then proceed to log into find my iPhone on my PC. It shows my phone is somewhere along the highway that connects my suburb to the main city core. I sit there perplexed because I did not open my window or my door during my drive to Dairy Queen.

I then call Dairy Queen in case this was a technical error, and no iPhone was turned in. Through further discussion with my wife she suggested that I probably put my phone on top of the car while I was getting my son in the car seat. Which I have a habit of doing with coffees and that sort of thing. So I take a drive on the highway and go in the general vicinity of where my phone is appearing on the find my iPhone app on the same night around 840pm and it is now dark outside.

I go to the highway shoulder where there is a section of gravel then further down a section of wet grass almost swamp like. I spent 40 mins looking for it, I am repeatedly calling my phone from my wife's cell and hitting the play sound button but to no avail. I return home distraught as I upgraded from a Samsung galaxy S8 to the iPhone 11 Pro Max just 6 days prior to this.

Also note that I purchased the phone in Canada where there are tab plans, so I paid a $400 down payment and was paying the rest over my 2 year contract with my phone provider by paying an extra 25 bucks a month on my phone bill. I had 800 dollars remaining on my tab after the down payment.

So I am upset at this costly mistake but the next morning before heading to work I see that the phone is still active on the find my phone app. I searched the highway shoulder for 30 mins by foot, then there it was in all it's glory my iPhone 11 Pro Max face down on the highway shoulder. I cannot even begin to describe the sense of relief and elation I experienced. There is no damage other than the screen protector. So cheers to apple and it's find my iPhone function it saved me over $1000.

How to deal with a silicone case?

    Posted: 03 Sep 2020 12:27 AM PDT

so I just bought a silicone case for my iphone11, It's really soft and nice but it picks up lint, dirt, the tiniest crumbs and dust. anyway to lessen it or clean it easily? I love the feeling of a soft, minimalistic phone case thats simple. just hate how dirty it gets

    Battery Reminder

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 11:08 PM PDT

I feel like a 5% battery left reminder would be greatly appreciated because I honestly get too lazy to get my charger even after seeing 10% left. And do you feel like low power mode actually works?
