Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion - What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend? - September 07, 2020

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 09:11 PM PDT

Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles!

As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store!

To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default.

Just played COD Mobile. My mind is blown.

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:10 PM PDT

I didn't think graphics could get this next-level. And I didn't think they would perform this well on an iPhone 8. I could only imagine the kind of games that could be made for the newer phones to run (hopefully with better gameplay! cod mobile is kind of boring besides the graphics).

    Game like tiny thief

    Posted: 07 Sep 2020 07:59 AM PDT

I got a nostalgia hit and wanted to play tiny thief again. Sadly I I found out it's no longer on the AppStore. Are there any games similar to it out there?

Looking for a specific party based rts

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 11:35 AM PDT

This was a game from I guess around 2009-2011 era. It played like a party based rts game with cartoony graphics and instanced combat.

I removed it having a few different classes with like one ability each and I think you could have 4 in your party at a time.

The classes seemed diverse like fighter, Paladin, rogue, mage, witch, priest but they all had like one ability, that would charge over time.

The pace of combat was slow and you have to use use tactics and strategy to win fights. I also remover fighting goblins a lot.

I haven't played this game in years and I'm really trying to revisit it if anyone can think of a name for it

    COD Battle Pass Questions

    Posted: 07 Sep 2020 07:44 AM PDT

As someone who just started playing a few days ago, what are the actual benefits of buying the battle pass?

How long does it last (from when to when)?

Are you able to obtain enough rewards to get the next month's battle pass without paying again or is it basically a monthly subscription?

If can get enough rewards by playing, am I basically forced to play it for hours a day? In other words, I only have time to play a few games a day, would that be enough?

And finally, in your opinion is battle pass worth it? Why/why not? :)

What IDLE game can you recommend?

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 04:07 PM PDT

Hi guys, I am looking for any good IDLE game worth playing, but also reward playing. I want something more deep than just opening the game every 2 hours and just upgrading one/two things and then waiting 30 minutes to do it again.

    The Typing of the Dead

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 08:11 PM PDT

Has the Typing of the Dead been removed from the App Store? Wikipedia said it was released on iOS but I can't see it in the store. Is there any way to get it or some similar game?

Retro: What types of games are these and can you recommend me any similar ones? I will pay!

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 05:17 PM PDT

I'm not against free games, but paywalls and ads annoy me so I'd rather just pay for a game and be left alone, but it seems like many games these days require in app purchases in order to progress?

The last game I paid for and loved was King of Dragon Pass. It's an expensive game ($12.99?), but that's OK with me if I can skip pay walls.

I really enjoyed Design House for a minute, but it was too hard to advance without paying for every little item.

I also enjoyed the Stranger Things game.

I'm not too familiar with gaming so can anyone tell me what 'type' of games these are and suggest a paid non pay wall game for me?

Searching for a RPG Game with party creation mechanics

    Posted: 06 Sep 2020 02:18 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm currently searching for games with the possibility to create my own party (choosing class, skills, etc). I recently played VariousDaylife. It was quite good but not that what I wanted. I'm searching something similar like Etrian Odessey. If somebody knows a game, hit me up. I would be grateful. Cheers
