| MacBook Air 2015 bricked during upgrade from High Sierra to Catalina Posted: 04 Sep 2020 03:58 PM PDT Hi all, Got a used 2015 MacBook Air off a friend. They had tried to sell it but the person brought it back citing problems with it not turning on. My friend told me that they themselves hadn't encountered any such issue. It was working fine on High Sierra but I wanted to migrate stuff from my 2012 MacBook Air so I downloaded Catalina from the App Store and let it do its thing. It restarted and I saw the white Apple logo and status bar on a black background for a bit then it just went blank and I can't restart it. I tried everything I found on the Apple website and even had Apple Support walk me through it. Even the SMC. The charger light is green, I tried both the 2012 and the 2015 charger, both three pronged plugs plugged into different sockets, and the lights are green on both but still nothing. Is it dead? Should I give up? The Apple Support rep suggested it was the logic board and I just don't know if it's worth repairing. What gets me is that the person who bought it had similar issues but that my friend got it running High Sierra again. I know my sister also has a 2015 MacBook Air that did something similar and she was told the same thing at the Apple Store but we thought it was because of a voltage issue (it happened in North America but she lives on Europe) and she said it was fine when she got home. I am currently experiencing something so irritating and frustrating happening to my phone and I don't know what to do. Today snapchat notified me that my storage was full and I wasn't able to take a picture or video until I cleared some storage, so I went to my camera roll and deleted some pictures and all of a sudden a couple of pictures turned into black boxes and I couldn't view what image they were. I tried turning my phone off and on, closing and reopening the app and nothing had revived those pictures from being black boxes. Next thing that happened was my Snapchat itself stopped working. I tried sending snaps to my friends and the snap would act like it wasn't even taken or trying to be sent. Then my imessage started to bug out and take forever to send messages. My Spotify was having issues looking up songs, and lastly my google photos wouldn't let me delete the photos I had on there and also showed all the black boxes of photos. Also I just tried deleting photos off my camera roll and they reappeared in my camera roll. I have no idea what's going on with my phone but can somebody PLEASE help me out. I'm growing so upset. | Weird “glitch?” In FaceTime call? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 09:06 PM PDT I was on FaceTime with my girlfriend when in the middle of her talking her audio cut out and music started playing. It sounded like a pop song, idk who it was. Her audio started to flicker on and off a few times before I heard 2 girls talking and one said "who are you talking to" and the other said "I don't know who that is" then the audio went back to my girlfriend. Is this just a really weird glitch that happened or did someone possibly hack my phone or something?? I'm not super into tech so I have no clue about any of this. | Posted: 04 Sep 2020 08:53 PM PDT Our 10 month old iPad wouldn't turn on about a week ago, so I took it to the Apple store and they replaced it with a new one under warranty, they couldn't find anything wrong except that it wouldn't turn on. Now the new one just died and won't turn on either. My kids use it to watch YouTube mostly and all our chargers are Apple or Apple compatible - any idea why this could be happening suddenly? No other issues with other devices using the same chargers (which we have had for more than a year) or the same outlets. [link] [comments]  |
| Family sharing is horrible Help Posted: 04 Sep 2020 08:34 PM PDT Somehow my daughter (10) signed into my account on her iPad. I had her set up under family sharing. So she had access to all my messages, Facebook, safari history etc. So I signed out on her iPad and made her a new family Apple ID. I signed out on her iPad and was getting verification failed messages. It stopped doing that. But now when I sign into her brand new account my internet history is still on there. I can't sign into iMessage. Then her same old Touch ID worked to get into the iPad. It's just a dumpster fire of bullshit. Why is it like this ? | White dot on lower mid screen (XR) Posted: 04 Sep 2020 07:52 PM PDT Just noticed this today. A tiny white dot in the center on the display towards the bottom. Can only see it on light backgrounds. I did the new beta 7 update and can still see it so i think it may be a hardware issue. I tried taking a photo but it's very hard to see on camera. Try to look closely. Any idea what it could be ? | Guys how to get rid of iCloud syncing in iBooks? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 07:20 PM PDT I mean man its so annoying as hell. I just downloaded PDF of 3 books yesterday, one was 600 pages long, another was 340 and last one had 2250 pages. Took a long time to download and was expecting to read it at night. Everything was fine at first. But when i reopened iBooks , it had already deleted those books from Local Storage and i had to re download them all again. Why?? I tried turning off iBooks option in iCloud too after reading couple of articles but its just making things worse. At this moment i've got 15 books and 3 PDFs. The books have all got a cloud icon below it means i'd have to download all of them, but when i uncheck that option in settings the 3 PDFs i downloaded disappear. How can i take these 3 off from iCloud? And then stop this app from syncing everything leaving me absolutely nothing to read unless i download them again and again? [link] [comments]  |

The disk you are attempting to use is full." Now what I'm asking for help is, is there any way I can download the files on my pc using a third party or software so that I don't lose my memory? What options do I have so that I will save my data before restoring it? Is there a way I can view my Iphones storage on my pc and save it on my pc? She moved from a Samsung to an iPhone and was wondering how I could transfer my past texts with her to her new contact. I tried changing the old contact to the new number but that only worked for like 10 minutes then the contacts separated and thus the texts separated. | Macbook Pro 2011 cannot restore backup Posted: 04 Sep 2020 06:55 PM PDT Hi, Model: Macbook Pro 2011 ios version (High Sierra before the computer froze) I was using my PC last night and it began to slow down, so I did a back up of my hard drive, and then shut the computer down. The next morning when I went to go boot the computer, I tried to restore it from the backup and it failed. I did not have access to my items. I've troubleshooted this issue all day with no luck including: - replacing the RAM with multiple types (all DDR3 at different capacities, two 2GB sticks with no luck, two 8GB sticks with no luck - my hard drive was backed up using Time Machine, but -every time I try to do a restore it freezes at the same spot on the progress bar (see image) How do I get my stuff back and save my macbook? | Iphone5S updated now keeps turning off and on Posted: 04 Sep 2020 06:26 PM PDT My son has an iPhone 5S This morning it updated to iOS 12.4.8 Now it says battery is 100%, then turns off then goes to white screen with Apple logo, then turns back on with 1% battery. Then jumps back up to like 98% battery. Then starts the loop all over again. I have tried resetting all settings. Tried resetting it. Tried hard resetting. Nothing is working. | Can I force FileVault to stop encrypting ? Posted: 04 Sep 2020 05:56 PM PDT MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) Catalina I went to backup my MacBook through time machine 2 days aga and it told me that it was waiting for FileVault to encrypt a disk before it started. I think FileVault has restarted a couple times while I was messing around with it , but it's been 48 hours. I used 'fdesetup status' in the terminal and it says "Encryption in progress: Percent completed = 4" . My hard drive is already encrypted , so I am guessing that it is encrypting the external drive, which is 2 T. At this rate it is going to take all month , if that's whats really happening. Posted: 04 Sep 2020 05:35 PM PDT I've been using apple music for a whilei prefer it over any streaming service but there are famous artists that have songs or entire albums missing like queens of the stone age their album "...like clockwork" is non existant in apple music, there are some live versions of some the songs. But a whole album like cmon. It can be very frustrating at times when i like a song but can't add it to my library or even literally listen to it on the app Why is this a thing? [link] [comments]  |
