What iPhones should I get my twins? Posted: 27 Aug 2020 01:47 PM PDT English is not my first language so I apologize for grammar. So I have twins (13, M and F). Their current phones are pretty old (they both have the iPhone 7, but they got it 2018). Now me and my husband have saved up enough cash (around $1300) to buy them new phones because they are excellent children both academically and at home. Now what phones should I get my kids? I want to surprise them by next week. The only thing they said they want are the ones with facial recognition, and that 64 GB is enough for them. Their favorite colors are blue for the boy, and yellow for the girl if that helps. What phones should I get them that also fits our budget? Edit : I have the X, husband has 8 plus Edit 2 : Thank you for your suggestions. I'll get both of them tomorrow the iPhone XR 64GB in blue and yellow. It also fits my budget properly. I also forgot to mention that their birthday is on the 30th so perfect timing. [link] [comments] |
iPhone XS Max: Water damage the first time I tried to take it underwater. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 10:09 PM PDT Today, for the first time, I tried to take a photo underwater with my iPhone XS Max. The moment I took it underwater, the screen started turning green, until the entire screen was highlighted in a bright green. I immediately took out the SIM card, and put the phone in the hot sun to dry. I took it inside after 15 minutes, and put it on top of my PC, which is constantly expelling hot air from the exhaust fans. I looked at the LCI, which is still white. I waited 6 hours, and when I tried to turn on, it does not react at all. What should I do next? [link] [comments] |

IPhone XS screen being weirdly unresponsive, pls send help Posted: 27 Aug 2020 03:14 PM PDT Iphone XS running 13.6.1 Purchased in UK Late 2018 Since last night, my screen is unresponsive in parts, for example the D and R button wont work on the keyboard, but the letters next to it do. Also, other parts of the screen dont work at all or now require a hard swipe. I also updated my phone this morning to 13.6.1 and the issue persists. I have since taken my screen protector off which has helped minimally. I have also tried a reset (not factory) and cleaned my phone screen. What could be the issue? [link] [comments] |

iPhone X screen lifting from frame.... Posted: 27 Aug 2020 02:40 PM PDT I've had my iPhone X for almost 3 years now and it's worked great I have no scratches on my screen or anything. All of a sudden the left side of my screen is starting to lift from the phone. Right now it's fairly small but I'm not sure what I should do. It's only the left side of my screen. I'm planning on getting the 12 in 2 months [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Aug 2020 10:20 AM PDT I put it on my wireless charger last night and now it won't turn on. I tried actually plugging it in with two different chargers and to no avail... has anyone else experienced this? [link] [comments] |

iPhone SE (2nd Gen) Home button suddenly less responsive Posted: 27 Aug 2020 11:12 AM PDT I got a new iPhone SE when it came out and so far it has been great. When I was taking a shower this morning (I live in a dorm and keep it with me at all times), a bit of water got on it and in the speakers/port. After I showered, I made sure to dry it off and shake out the water and was quite thorough. Later, I tried to plug my phone in and got a notification about water in the port, which went away after a few minutes of thoroughly drying it off with some cotton. A few hours later, I noticed that my home button is acting strangely. It takes much more force than usual for the phone to register a button push. It is also registering multiple presses weirdly, and usually interprets two pushes as three. Touch ID still works normally. I'm not sure if it is related to getting wet earlier, since I don't have any other problems with the phone. Is this water damage? Otherwise, what can I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Aug 2020 10:09 AM PDT Hello! I just bought an iPhone 11. Before I was using an iPhone 7 and I run out of storage so I turned on Optimise iPhone Storage in Photos. Now on my new iPhone I can see all the photso which are uploaded to iCloud. With the new phone I no longer have storage problem so i thought that I will turn off Optimise iPhone Storage, but I am afraid that it will download all the pictures that I store in iCloud. I want to keep the photos I took with my prevous phone in the cloud but I want to store the new ones which I took with my new phone on my phones hard drive. What should I do? :/ [link] [comments] |
My iPhone won’t connect to cellular data Posted: 27 Aug 2020 09:33 AM PDT https://imgur.com/gallery/0ibh0Zx I have an iPhone 10 that won't connect to cellular data, and when I try to go to cellular in settings it's just blank ^ little video of what it looks like on my screen. I tried calling US cellular for tech support, and they had no idea: I reset the phone, reset the network, etc. she transferred me to an Apple specialist and instead, I got hung up on after being on hold for 30 minutes. Too frustrated to try again. Anyway, any ideas of what the problem is!? [link] [comments] |
iPhone 6S stuck in bootloop, unable to access through pc. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 08:42 AM PDT Hi, so i have had an iPhone 6S 16Gb for about 2 years now, all along ive been struggling with the space since iOS 11.1(cant remember the exact version) took up about 14Gb on the iPhone. i only had about 5 apps, and usually i would go into Whatsapp and encounter a red error telling me i have less than 100mb of space and until i free up space i can not enter Whatsapp. When this happens i would reboot my phone and it would fix itself by what im guessing is clearing cache and junk files to free up that tiny little bit of 100mb. Problem 2, My home button does not work, some day it just decided to not work and i was stuck using Assistive touch and having a button on my screen everywhere i went. I used that to reboot my phone, exit apps, clear apps etc. I have attempted to jailbreak using Uncover it in the past hoping i would be able to find a tweak that would clear the amount of space the software took up, the jailbreak did not work. I did not encounter a bootloop or any problems after. Last week, i had not downloaded anything funny or anything at all in that matter, i opened whatsapp only to get the big red error again, and as normal i would just reboot my iPhone, this time it did not come on. It has been stuck on the Apple logo since. ive discharged the battery and recharged it, plugging it into my computer i would not be able to pick it up using iTunes(iTunes gives me a 0xE8000015 error) or 3UTools. ive tried Recboot to take my phone into recovery mode but not even that app picks it up. I know most responses would be to just buy a new phone, but unfortunately that is not one of my choices at this point in time. im trying as hard as i can to save this phone, i dont even mind restoring it as i had nothing on it already. If anyone knows how to fix it, id really appreciate it!!! [link] [comments] |

iPhone shared calendar alerts aren’t working for the other person. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 07:48 AM PDT My wife and I use a shared iPhone calendar. We have been using it for a while but just noticed today that if one of us inputs a calendar event and sets an alert for 15 minutes, hour or anything else those alerts don't go to the other person. When I set a family calendar event with alerts I see them and get them. She does not and the calendar event says "Alert - none" when she opens it. She tried setting a family event with 15 and 30 Minute alerts. She sees the alerts but I do not get them. Does anyone know how to fix this? We are on the newest IOS. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 27 Aug 2020 02:21 AM PDT I naively thought that I had a protection on my screen of my iPhone XS but it had been a while since it was no longer in place ... A short time ago I dropped it, followed a green line (which is now white) running the length of the screen. After a few clicks on the net I only see one solution: to have it replaced .... I can use it in the meantime but with a big white line on the screen it's not great at all. After a call, a visit to a repairman and researching the net I am confused. A former apple technician told me that it was better to go to apple because the non-apple replacements are according to him of very poor quality, but now the iPhone XS is not worth enough for resale to allow a new original apple screen . Then, I did a lot of research, the prices vary greatly so I ask myself questions: where should I have a new screen installed and at what price? The cheapest price I found is € 160 (and he claims it's an OLED screen!) But I'm wondering about the quality obviously, I also found some for € 210. There is also the possibility of replacing it with an OLED or LCD screen (OLED is of course preferable). There is also the Ifixit site which offers to do the replacement yourself with their equipment and their tutorial. Ideas? advice? Thank you. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 27 Aug 2020 02:01 AM PDT I honestly can't seem to understand this. My microphone works perfectly when I'm in a call or recording a video with the camera, but then in EVERY single other app, if I record a video or my voice, I can't hear shit. And yes, the microphone is enabled for those apps, you can actually hear something but it's extremely low, it's mostly a continuous buzzing and only if you put the ear very close to the speaker you might hear the voice. Forgot to mention, I have an iPhone XR, iOS 13.3 (I'm not updating for certain reasons, but no, the Jailbreak is not the cause of this, even after removing the Jailbreak I do get the same issue) EDIT: Solved. Idk why or how, but it's no longer happening, the microphone was/is perfectly fine, so is the speaker... if you ever have this issue and come across this post, good luck idk how to help ya.
