- Is there a way to control the volume of individual alarms on an iPhone? I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro. I need my morning alarm loud enough to wake the dead, but I have an alarm that goes off earlier that my husband would prefer not to hear.

- iPhone 11; Update issue -“unable to activate.” I’ve been going in circles trying to fix this, called Apple help and I restored my phone but now I can’t even open it and all I see is this! I am unable to take it so stored due to lockdown! PLEASE HELP

| Macbook Air 13' (2015 model) OS XCatalina Posted: 27 Aug 2020 07:26 PM PDT A few days ago I was randomly logged out of my iMessage & Facetime from my Macbook, I tried to log in but I get an "An error occurred during activation. Try again." message. I called apple and we tried to work through and the employee told me to update my Mac and change password, which now I did, but it's still giving me the same message with my new password post updating mac as well. If anyone has had the same issue, did you figure it out? What can I do to log in lol? Thank you for any advice!!! And yes I'll be asking Apple again if still doesn't work, but if you guys know about this it would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone 11 Pro had an 18 hr. salt water bath Posted: 27 Aug 2020 06:58 PM PDT Hello! I went to the beach yesterday my iPhone 11 Pro fell out of my pocket into the 60* F water. I had an idea of where it fell in (~2 feet deep there) but we couldn't find it and the tide was coming in forcing us to eventually give up. I went back this morning to look during low tide and couldn't find it but my husband got a call from amazing humans who stumbled upon it after glimpsing the finger loop sticking up through the sand. Thankfully it still worked and we got it back but now I'm trying to figure out how to best clean/dry it out. It was submerged under water and/or sand for ~18 hours. I rinsed it with clean water but does anyone have any other suggestions on how to best care for it? It's still turned on and appears to be working fine for now. I'm trying to do a backup in case it dies as I haven't done one in 6 months but haven't plugged it into anything. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| Running out of application memory after upgrading from Mojave to Catalina Posted: 27 Aug 2020 06:59 PM PDT I finally decided to update my MBP from Mojave to Catalina last week and then suddenly, I'm getting this prompt saying, "Your system has ran out of application memory" My usage is still the same from when I'm using Mojave and I'm not getting this prompt (Chrome + Sketchapp/Figma + Upwork + Spotify + Finder and sometimes with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator opened at the same time) I've checked Activity Monitor (Memory Tab and the one that's been eating up a lot of memory is the mds_store. | iCloud mail not being received by others. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 06:35 PM PDT I've attempted to send a few emails to 6-7 email different addresses today using my icloud email account through the mail app on my 2017 iMac. However, everyone I have sent my emails to has not received them. The addresses I'm sending to are a variety of email servers (hotmail, gmail, local isp, etc) and some are using iphones, some using PC's to access their mail but none have received my emails. The emails are in my sent folder (so aren't hanging out in the outbox still) and also have not shown up in anyone's junk mail. Apple is showing their servers are all currently up. Does anyone have any idea why my emails are suddenly not making it to others mailboxes? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

The moment I took it underwater, the screen started turning green, until the entire screen was highlighted in a bright green. I immediately took out the SIM card, and put the phone in the hot sun to dry. I took it inside after 15 minutes, and put it on top of my PC, which is constantly expelling hot air from the exhaust fans. I looked at the LCI, which is still white. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 08:55 PM PDT Out of nowhere my iphone xs started crashing every time I tried to open or do anything, and nothing I tried fixed it (even factory resetting), so I sent it in for repair via the UPS store route. Only the "reason" I gave for the repair was incorrect on the website. I'm paranoid that they're not going to see what's wrong with the phone, since it's factory reset and you wouldn't know what *is* wrong until you tried to use it. I'm wondering if I should call them. | My Imac crashes as soon a so start it up! Posted: 27 Aug 2020 04:51 PM PDT Whenever I power up my Imac it instantly crashes! The only way that I can get it to play the start up chime is by plugging it into a new power source (a different wall socket, power point, etc.) and once I have done that then it plays the startup chime, the screen turns on, what I mean by that is it lights up a little bit, and then the Mac just turns off and won't turn back on unless I do all of those steps again! If anyone has any advice I would be incredibly grateful but otherwise I am stumped. [link] [comments]  |
| How long should it take to transfer data via Migration Assistant over WiFi? Posted: 27 Aug 2020 04:40 PM PDT Just got a new MacBook Air, newest model. I'm trying to transfer around 500 GB of data from my 2012 MB pro. I started doing it over WiFi, and after around 4 hours it still says "starting up" on the information transfer page. What am I looking at time wise? I don't have a thunderbolt cable or an Ethernet cable, but I have a plain USB- USBC cable- if I plug that in, will that help transfer any information/ speed things up? Should I just get a thunderbolt cable? I ideally need everything transferred by Monday for work. Any help on how to get things moving would be appreciated! Thank you! [link] [comments]  |
