| iPhone X back on after water damage Posted: 04 Aug 2020 06:19 PM PDT Hey all - I dropped my iPhone X in the shallow end of a pool last week (probably about 3ft) and it wouldn't turn on. I assumed it was broken, but about 10 days later the phone is back on and working perfectly. I remember one time at the Apple Store a specialist there said that it would work for a little bit, but eventually the phone would fry out. | Iphone 6s storage almost nearly full suddenly? Posted: 04 Aug 2020 09:24 PM PDT I haven't downloaded anything big today, my storage was around 50% and it went up to 98% somehow. I got a notification saying my storage is almost full and when I checked, it said that 31.8 gb of 32 gb was full, and "Other" is taking up a lot of the storage. | iPhone XR visual voicemail disappeared Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:06 PM PDT Hello, all. Recently, my iPhone XR's visual voicemail disappeared. I only just noticed it a few days ago, but it could've been an issue for at least a couple weeks without notice. I have perused the older reddit threads and couldn't seem to find a viable fix for myself. I tried resetting network settings, contacting my service provider, and even resetting all settings on the device. I'm running on iOS 13.6, the newest firmware, and all my voicemail tab says is simply 'call voicemail,' which I can do and have access to my voicemails, but it also says my voicemail box is full even after deleting several message in the inbox. I bought the phone almost two years ago in the US, and my service provider is Total Wireless, if that is relevant. | Importing pictures from iPhone 8 issues Posted: 04 Aug 2020 07:44 AM PDT I have an iPhone 8 running on iOS 13.5.1. Have roughtly 3100 pictures and videos. I would like to offload these to my Windows computer so I can delete most of them and save some space. In the past, I generally used File Explorer and copied over each folder in the DCIM folder. I have been getting issues with that though. Some folders copy fine and others won't copy and I get an error that my iPhone has disconnected. Then I tried the option to right lick on the iPhone 8 icon under My PC and do the "Import pictures and video" utility. I didn't know this was a thing and found it pretty slick. The problem is it won't copy over between 800-900 of my pictures and videos. I have done this several times on two different computers and each time I have a different number of pictures and videos it can't copy over. If I try to copy them after restarting the process, that doesn't work either. I get an error message and I need to skip it. I haven't fully checked but I think most of these are my photos and videos since I got my iPhone 8. Did some googling and downloaded a program called AnyTrans and I was hopeful the free version would come with unlimited photo transfer but it only does 30 pictures and wants you to buy it. It's quite expensive, $50 for one year and $70 for lifetime use. I would like to format my phone and do a restore to kill the unwieldy size my "Other" data(20 GBs) has gotten to as it is causing me storage issues now. Would like to backup all my photos onto my PC first though. I do have them backed up to my Google Photos drive but I like having them on my computer as well. So, any other free or cheaper programs out there to export your photos off your iPhone? Is there any help on allowing me to use the first couple options successfully? Thanks for any help! | Posted: 04 Aug 2020 02:32 PM PDT Hello all , I have an iPhone xsmax bought on 2018 running an iOS 13.6 Recently I noticed this "color change" near the lightning entrance on the bottom of the phone . Doesn't feel like a scratch , I didn't get the phone close to any sort of fire source and I generically take good care of it. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Any idea what could have triggered this? My biggest concern is that it can be some sort of overheating on that specific area but after googling it didnt find any info. | iPhone contacts have vanished, usual fixes won’t work Posted: 04 Aug 2020 11:31 AM PDT Hi, I'm looking for some advice regarding a problem with the contacts on my mums phone. She is using an IPhone 6s, and previously had updated to IOS 13, however this caused her to lose her contacts. Therefore she restored her backup to IOS 12.4.6, which is the operating system she is still currently using, and her contacts came back. This was fine since June, however today she got a prompt to update her IOS and chose not to, after this her contacts vanished from her phone. In settings, the default account for contacts is her iCloud account as usual, and contacts is selected in settings under "apps using iCloud". Google suggested turning contacts off and on again to prompt a message to "merge contacts" however when this is tried on her phone, this prompt doesn't appear. Another fix suggested selecting "groups" within the contacts app and selecting "all contacts on my iPhone" however here the only option for her is "all iCloud", which is selected It appears that her contacts have just vanished from her iCloud backup somehow, and the usual fixes found on google aren't working. Had my phone charging this morning and was on a website (that sometimes crashes Safari, it's a Spotify database of sorta entitled Every Noise At Once) and Discord (updated this morning too!) and as I was toggling between the two my iPhone 8+ (IOS 13.4.1) went dark and had a white spinning circle for around 3 to 4 seconds then everything went back to normal. I'm posting here to see if I need to be concerned or if it was just a software issue with the new update with Discord and the website or if I need some Genius assistance! I forgot my iPhone 7 password and failed all ten times so it currently says iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes. I have never backed it up before and so I cannot connect it to any form of backup software as it cannot gain permission from the iPhone (i think it's on the latest IOS as of the 4th of August). | iPhone SE battery is not being measured (stuck on a percentage) Posted: 04 Aug 2020 05:41 AM PDT Hi, My iPhone SE (first gen) is currently stuck on 43% battery. Before that it was stuck on 1% and couldn't charge and booted/restarted erratically when connected to the charger. At that point i thought it was a charger issue so i bought another cable. Then i cleaned the charging port using a needle (lot of dirt here). Then i sprayed some contact repair (KF F2) inside the port, which made the "lightning" symbol reappear next to the battery - maybe it's a coincidence though and i was still stuck on 1%. I made the software update from 12.something to 13.6 and tried playing with the time zone and hard reboot as advised on ifixit. Yesterday it wouldn't boot at all on show the red battery despite being plugged in all day, so i disconnected it. Today i turned it on and hurra! the battery show 43%, except it isn't discharging when i'm using it, and still can't charge. I'm guessing either the battery is dead or badly connected to the motherboard? No idea about the cause, i don't think it suffered any shock, but it was very hot in the past week (more than 35°C) and maybe i left it in a car for an afternoon or something. Also i carried it in a totebag which was kinda messy so maybe some dirt got inside. I bought it second hand around a year and a half ago. Thank you for your help! [link] [comments]  |

Bluetooth has worked on everything I've tried so far (car radio, speakers, etc.) From everything I've read online, the problem is my audio IC not working. If I buy airpods or other wireless headphones, will they work with my phone, or will the audio IC still affect it? I need my phone for work and only have one day off a week so repairing it could be very tricky until I get more time off. Music is a huge influence on my life though and I just really miss using headphones Any help would be greatly appreciated!
