Cannot figure out what is making Netflix, HBO, Hulu so blurry! Posted: 27 Aug 2020 08:27 AM PDT Using an apple tv 4K on a vizio P series. Every time I test my internet connection I consistently get 80-100mbps download speeds. Youtube TV always appears to be crystal clear, but when I am watching Netflix, HBO, or Hulu, the quality will cycle from full HD to being so blurry you can barely make out shapes on the screen. What I have currently done: turn off wifi on smart tv (didnt work), use ethernet connection for apple tv (didnt work), make sure that video format matching settings are correctly applied in apple tv settings (didnt work). Anyone have any guesses, is there some way to test the consistency of my wifi connection rather than a download speed at a point in time? It seems like it comes and goes in waves. Posted: 27 Aug 2020 03:06 PM PDT A question about hdcp Hi, I want to buy an Apple TV 4K and use it with an hd monitor, but I don't have speakers. I found a audio extractor but that supports hdcp 1.4 and I think my monitor is hdcp 1.4. My Apple TV 4K is going to work with hdcp 1.4 or only with hdcp 2.0? My setup is: My setup is, 1080p HP 22f monitor, hdmi 1.4 cable, hdcp 1.4 audio extractor and hdcp 2 Apple TV 4K, is going to work? [link] [comments]
Showtime /Epix channels with no info for live viewing? Posted: 27 Aug 2020 04:15 PM PDT Added the CBS Showtime Bundle and Epix to our Apple TV channel line up. They offer to watch live, but there is no 'guide' or info on what your watching?? Like you click it, and play live, but you can't get any information on what is playing at all. Any suggestions? Are we doing some thing wrong? [link] [comments]
History Vault without a TV Provider Posted: 27 Aug 2020 12:10 PM PDT I subscribe to History Vault through Apple. I don't have a TV provider other than YouTubeTV. Does anyone know if a Philo (tv provider) account is necessary or is the History Vault app/subscription through Apple adequate as a stand-alone source for this content. I think I tried to add the HV app to my Apple TV and the app asked for a TV Provider, so I signed up for Philo as they are in the HV list of partner providers. I have since subscribed through Apple which I access through Apple TV+ not as an app on Apple TV. I'm unsure if I unsubscribe from Philo if I will lose my History Vault access and I'm loving it. Tech help request: NHL app on AppleTV Posted: 26 Aug 2020 02:57 AM PDT Looking for some tech help please! I can't find answers anywhere else, so would appreciate if anybody has any suggestions/fixes/notes of similar issues. My parents have a 4th Gen AppleTV, and an NHL subscription which they watch via the NHL app on the AppleTV. They are in Australia, so are not affected by local blackouts regarding NHL games. However, they opened up their NHL app today and ALL games are telling them that they are blacked out and cannot be watched (getting a message to the effect of "this content will be available after the broadcast time of the game"). This goes for past and present games. They can get recaps, but not watch full game streams. They have tried all the usual things (including the basic turn it off & on again, uninstall & reinstall, log out, log in etc etc). They have also investigated location issues at an app, device and internet level. Have checked their location on their apple account, etc. They've tried opening things like weather apps, to see if their location is correct (it is). They did have a (preplanned, local area, day-long) blackout a couple of days ago - not sure if this has anything to do with it, but things were working fine before this, and now they aren't (and today was the first time they've tried since the blackout). They've asked for tech help through NHL, Apple & their internet provider. Nobody has an answer (Apple doesn't want to know about it because it's the previous generation model, not the current). They aren't really getting anywhere through these channels of help. I can't find anything providing answers online (or details matching their situation exactly). They have checked and their phones & (wifi only) ipad are able to watch games as normal, though they are unable to airplay this to the AppleTv. Does anyone have any suggestions pretty please? Thank you! NB: I'm posting this on my parents' behalf (whom I don't live with), so I can't try suggestions immediately, but I will advise if anything does fix it! Likewise if more detailed info is required - I won't have immediate answers but will get back to you ASAP. TIA :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Aug 2020 01:14 AM PDT Hi guys, I am wondering if anyone in here has some experience with an online video on demand service that is Nomad friendly? I am used to buying movies trough the tv app (itunes I guess). However after moving from DE to NL I noticed some movie disappearing from my library and then when I bought Parasite here in NL it doesn't come with the english subtitles. Also there are some movies missing here in the NL store ( I wanted to buy Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure). Maybe somebody has a good experience with a service that works flawlessly across different regions in regards to movie libraries and subtitle language selection or maybe someone knows a trick that works with the tv app. [link] [comments] |
