    Hey folks, my MacBook Pro is ~8yrs old now and still going strong, but I'm considering upgrading and keeping it as a secondary machine.

    Has anyone here made the switch from MacBook to iPad Pro, and if so, any pros/cons to speak of?

    If iOS 14 has an indicator for when the mic is being used, wouldn’t it be on all the time if you have “Hey Siri” turned on?

    Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but last time I checked picking up your voice requires the microphone. And to pick it up any time, it would have to be on at all times. Would they account for that mic usage in the status bar? I know the answer is definitely no- but then, that would mean the microphone indicator isn't totally honest. This would also apply to the camera being used for FaceID.

    Using Tapback for spotlight now allows spotlight to be opened in apps.

    I've heard that widgets on iOS 14 won't be interactive, so I designed this mockup with a few widgets that allow for simple actions, like a tap for play and pause and swipe to skip song (Spotify), or a tap to check an item off of a grocery list. This is what I would love to see on iOS 14.

    I have been using a method on the youtube app that made me skip every ad. It even skipped double ads in one click. But today youtube patched it. And I am already going insane when watching a double ad. So is there an adblocker for ios that doesn't make me have switch from the youtube app? (Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.)

    so after i reset my setting to try and fix something else, i now get a click when i long press. this is new and i cant find out how to disable the noise.
    i dont want to mute my phone.
    i just want it off!

    The state PWA (Progressive Web Apps) in 2020.

    I think it's time to take a look back on how far PWA's have come!
    At the same time it amazes me and disappoints me where PWA's are right now. On one side there are options but sometimes I feel not as many as their should be.

    While it's nice to have PWA's of Facebook & Twitter, I feel like many apps that don't have to be fully native would not only benefit of being a PWA but would give legacy support to devices that don't updated anymore.

    But truly if you haven't looked into PWA's in recent times they've come a long a way. Apple doesn't talk about them but they give them more features/access in most new iOS iterations. There's an appstore dedicated to PWA's but don't want to post it here because I don't people to think it's spam.

    But next you get a chance, got to Chase, Facebook, or Twitter. Hit share and add to home screen. Now you have the web version installed on your device borderless. Some have PWA features that remember where you left off, credentials, and save some things offline so it won't have to reload it each time like icons and such.
