    My iPhone XR is saying I have 5G (upper right corner) I have AT&T. I know XR’s aren’t compatible with 5G, so why am I seeing this?

    What eGPU should I get for my 2019 MBP? Is an eGPU the right solution?

    Hi all, I'm looking for some recommendations on what eGPU to buy for my MacBook Pro, or if that's even the right solution.

    The MacBook I have is the 2019 13" MBP, 2.3GHz i7, 16GB RAM.

    I'm facing two issues that together make me think an eGPU might be a good idea:

    1. I currently use the MBP with two external 1080p monitors connected via thunderbolt. Some days macOS decides that actually it only wants to support one external display, no amount of reconnecting or sleep/waking will change this, only a restart does. The screens also randomly flicker white rarely which is rather annoying and somewhat worrying when it happens. It just feels like I'm pushing the onboard graphics a bit too far?

    2. I do some live-streaming from my Mac with the above monitor setup, which seems to push the Mac even further, resulting in it struggling to maintain a 30 FPS stream and other apps starting to chug.

    These combined make me feel like an eGPU would be a good solution to off board graphics from the Mac itself. Am I right, or is an eGPU the wrong answer?

    If an eGPU is the right answer, what should I look at getting?

    My preference would be something that can provide dual HDMI + some USB/Ethernet pass-through, but DisplayPort etc. is also completely viable.

    Risk of losing pictures while backing up to itunes?

    A while back I had a problem with my iCloud that caused the full quality versions of all my pictures to be deleted. On my iPhone I was left with low quality versions of the pictures, I cant edit them, or send them, they all appear with a white exclamation mark on the bottom right hand corner. I really don't want to lose these low quality versions of the photos.

    Is there a way I can backup, or make sure these pictures are safe? Like backing up or importing them to iCloud or a Mac.

    Is there a chance that if I make a backup of my phone to my Mac that these low quality pictures will be deleted from my iPhone?

    I would really appreciate anyones help so I can keep these photos safe.

    (I have an iPhone 11 and a MacBook with Os Catalina)

    Seeking recommendations on a stable external hard drive for backup

    Hi all, we have an iMac circa 2015 with about 500GB of data on it. Looking to get an external hard drive to setup a backup system. Any recommendations? Cost is less important than something that is ideally simple and reliable over the long run. It does not need to be portable. It will simply be a backup drive for the iMac, holding mainly home videos, pictures, and some music.

    (and we'll likely be buying a new iMac once the next version once it comes out).

    How to get Serial Number of broken Iphone.

    My Mom bought an Iphone 6 Plus years back. However, the iphone is broken because it cannot physically turn on. Is there a way to check the serial number of the iphone using other methods?

    Sync iPhone and Mac data when they have two different Apple IDs?

    Just got a new MacBook and registered it with a brand new Apple ID entirely for myself. I want to sync my contacts, iMessages, etc on my iPhone with my Mac; however, the Apple ID on my phone is my dad's, so it's different than the one on my Mac.

    I know the tougher route is that I would have to upload all of my information on my iPhone somewhere and then reset my phone, so I can put my new Apple ID (not my dad's) on it, but I don't know where I'd temporarily store the information on my iPhone (that is -- if I don't want to take note of every single little detail on my phone and manually input it back into my iPhone when it has a new Apple ID). I know it's not possible to sync info between two different ID's, so what's the easiest way of switching the Apple ID on my phone while retaining as much of its information as possible? I hope this post made sense haha....

    11 Pro. I've got an Otterbox on the phone, some type of tempered glass screen protector, a Gadget Guard Black Ice + and I've had the phone for 30 days. It fell off the roof of my car. The front glass is banged up and apparently the backs of the phones are glass as well, and that's cracked a little. The phone seems to be functioning normally otherwise.

    What are my options?

    So today I replaced my Mid-2007 Mac's Original SSD with the same model SSD but brand new. I took everything apart and hooked it up. Tried to boot the Mac up but it shows the question mark folder. The old SSD was completely dead so I had never seen this. I tried to put it into Disc Utility but it never appeared! I also tried holding down the Options key but it just showed my mouse and no drives. I have tried to fix this on my own and Apple is no help. I just really need some advice. So what should I do? Thanks to anyone who can help out because this Mac means a lot to me!

    Here's some info of the Mac- Year- Mid 2007 Size- "24 Storage- 1TB Model-A1225 Os- I'm pretty sure it was running El Capitan but don't exactly know

    Error message while windows setup

    I've been trying to fix this problem for about a day now so far I've been unsuccessful.There's this message that says Windows cannot open the required file D:\Sources\Install.wim. Make sure all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error Code: 0x800700D during the windows setup on my Mac I need help if anyone here knows how to fix this please tell I've tried doing some basic troubleshooting, deleting all files in my USB just for the sake of the setup but no results

    iPad Mini 2 screen keeps doing this

    I bought a Smart Battery Case for my iPhone XS last week. When I charge the phone and case together overnight on a wireless charger, the phone battery will discharge a bit, then charge back up again. Will this harm the phone battery over time?

    I recently switched to a Mackbook all is great except the menu bar that always disappears when I go full screen on safari or anything else, it's important to me for it to be always there because I can see the time while working on something.

    I just migrated iPhone 5S to 7. I used iCloud backup to migrate. The problem is that I had already maxed my iCloud backup storage limit some time ago. When I finished my migration, I found that my photos only go to July 2019, and my message history to February 2020.

    Is there a way to bring over the rest of the photos and messages without using iCloud?

    Or any other suggestions?

    Or, at this point, do I have to reset the 7 and start all over again using a different migration method?

    Mac being hacked? Mac didn't ask for password after being awaken

    Hello,

    A couple days ago I was watching Twitch and closed my MacBook Pro (2015) running Catalina and went to take a shower. About 40 minutes later when I came back and opened my MacBook, my laptop didn't ask for a password. It should've asked for a password since I have it set to ask for a password after 5 minutes of being asleep. I checked the sleep logs in my terminal and this is what came up: (went to take a shower at 19:30 and came back at 20:10)

    I checked the display logs and my laptop's display was off form 19:30 to 20:10. I checked the log "Wake reason: EC.LidOpen" log and it showed that the laptop woke up at 20:05:30 twice (all logs were duplicated 2x). Why did my computer wake on "LidOpen" if nobody opened the lid. I checked the logs and this happened multiple times. Nobody in my family touched my laptop over that time period.

    Is there any command I can enter to see if my Mac even locked during that time period? And could this just have been a glitch or could it be something I should be worried about?

    Late model ‘13 Macbook Pro Retina goes non-operational/frozen frequently with a glitching screen as it tries to install “Macintosh HD”. Diagnostic said new charger, but new proper Apple charger is not solving the issue. Does anyone know the real cause? Is it toast?
