Posted: 31 May 2020 04:13 PM PDT So I'm using an old iPhone 7, battery health at 74% capacity after 4 years. I've never had any issues before now, but this week it started turning itself off and freezing for no reason. Problem got worse so I decided to put it into recovery mode by connecting to iTunes The process started off fine, and I got to the black screen with white Apple logo and a loading bar. At this point, the bar got to halfway then the phone turned off and is totally unresponsive now. Doesn't respond to hard reset or DFU/Recovery mode processes... what do I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 May 2020 07:18 PM PDT For whatever reason, my phone as of late has been demanding that I enter my icloud password. I dont remember it since I havent actually been paying attention to that account for ages, so I tried hitting Forgot Password. The phone asks for my phone number and I put it in. It then texts me a passcode which is automatically filled into the blank and then it goes to verify. It then gets stuck at the verifying phase forever until I tap out of it, only for the cycle to begin anew in several hours. I have tried getting called with the number and that doesnt help anything. Anyone know what's going on? [link] [comments] |
FaceTime call from "me" to my mom Posted: 31 May 2020 04:53 PM PDT I had to spend way too much time today convincing my mom that I had not FaceTimed her earlier in the day. My mom was on another call when she received a FaceTime call from me. She answered it. The video did not show a person, but rather was just sort of blurry or appeared as though the phone was laying flat and looking at up at the ceiling or down at the ground. When my mom said hello, the person on the other end said "whoops I didn't mean to do that" and ended the call. It was not me. She went through her missed calls and saw another missed call from "me" from yesterday. There is no record on my phone that I made any FaceTime calls to her (and I certainly know that I did not make them). The contact information associated with the call was all my contact information. It appears that when she clicked on my name in the missed call log, it just took her to her contact information entry for me. AND, when she clicked on the missed call entry, it initiated a FaceTime call with me, which I answered. Apple was of no help, other than to tell me to changes my Apple user ID password, which I was already in the process of doing. Any have any idea what's up with this? [link] [comments] |
Multiple keyboards are switched at random Posted: 31 May 2020 11:56 AM PDT iphone 8 on 13.5 I have added a third part keyboard to my keyboards and now have the globe button where the emoji button was. Cool. Except when I press the button, the keyboard it changes too seems to be completely random. I can still access all three by pressing and holding the button, but it is inconvenient not understanding the mechanism by which the keyboard changes when I press the button. [link] [comments] |
New iPhone sending messages as text by default, not iMessage Posted: 31 May 2020 11:49 AM PDT I have iMessage turned on. When I text individual people (group chats are fine), it sends the messages as text messages. Sometimes once they reply it will go back to iMessage and be fine, but not always. When it does switch to iMessage, it only does this momentarily and if I go to text them again a few hours later it will go back to text messages I've tried turning iMessage off and on but it hasn't helped. Any idea what I could have done wrong? Did I screw something up while activating the phone possibly? Thank you so much to anyone who can help! [link] [comments] |
Iphone xs 13.45 receiver low volume Posted: 31 May 2020 09:27 AM PDT My wife's iphone xs has a strange problem. The receiver volume is very low and changing the volume does not change it, up or down. She is using the latest 13.5 ios but this problem was going on before she updated. Anyone have any clues? [link] [comments] |

Battery heath droped 5% within a month Posted: 31 May 2020 03:24 AM PDT Hello, I just bought a used iphone 8plus a months ago, when I got it it's battery health was at 89%, now after 1 month it droped at 84, my girlfriend has an i7 which has 83% a month ago and it hasn't changed. iPhone wont come out of recovery mode Posted: 31 May 2020 02:21 AM PDT So I have this iPhone X that has been acting strange with its buttons. Specifically, the right power button stopped working, the lower volume button stopped working, and when I held the raise volume button, it brought me to my lock screen, that was its only function. When I tried to see if it was a software error and reset all the settings, when it tried to power on, it went into recovery mode, and I cannot get it out using the buttons because they don't work. Is there a way to get it out of recovery mode remotely, or do I have to see if someone has to fix it? I'd rather not spend $15 dollars for someone to take apart my phone then tell me it can't be fixed if I can help it. I tried using iTunes to update and restore it, neither have worked. Question about quick charging on the XS Max Posted: 31 May 2020 07:22 AM PDT So I've just come over to the XS Max from my Note 9. Unfortunately it seems my wireless charger, that puts out 5 or 10 watts isn't going to fast charge my XS Max. So I was looking into WIRED fast charging (The whole 50% in 30 minutes thing), do I NEED to have a USB-C to Lightning setup to get that? Or is there anyway to have a USB-A to Lightning 18W fast charging? Can't really find a straight answer. Also, what should I be looking for on a USB adaptor for it to be Fast Wireless Charger compatible? I have a Motorola Turbo Power USB Plug that has "12V = 1.2A" on it, if I get a 7.5w wireless charger will that give me fast wireless charging? [link] [comments] |
Iphone 6s call problem after update Posted: 31 May 2020 04:06 AM PDT Hey, I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem... In Facebook Messenger, when I'm in a call (phone or video chat), the audio is fine on both ends normally. However, when both me and my friend speaks at the same time, my audio gets cut out temporarily and I can't hear them speak. My friend says everything is normal on their end, so I'm wondering whether it's the new IOS update (Both 13.4.1 and 13.5 had this problem), or it's the Messenger app's problem. Any help is appreciated :) [link] [comments] |
