    Youtube won't play age restricted content on AppleTV

    Just had a weird issue on an ATV4. Youtube gave me the "viewer discretion advised" message. I proceeded and got the "sorry, this content is age restricted" message. I checked on my computer and confirmed i'm signed in on the same Youtube account on both. The content plays on the computer. I confirmed that parental controls are off on the ATV and logged out and back into Youtube. No change.

    Any ideas?

    My TV can only connect to the internet through a hotspot. Any help?

    Hi everyone, I'm not sure when exactly this occurred but a couple of weeks ago my TV suddenly was unable to pick up Wi-Fi via router. This happened for no apparent reason, and no other device in the house has trouble with the router. It seems that the only way I can secure a connection is using a hotspot on an old laptop of mine. Can anyone help me solve this?

    Brand new ATV 4K

    Hi everyone!

    I just bought the ATV 4k and litterally set it up like an hour ago. The thing is it keeps cutting out and going black for a few seconds. It wouldn't be so bad except it happens like every few minutes or so.

    I assume this is not normal... does anyone know how to fix it?

    Any help is much appreciated :D

    EDIT: thank you guys so much!!! Turned out i was using the wrong hdmi port. I didn't know this made a difference lol

    Volume control with AirPlay

    When I play audio, whether it's music or a podcast etc, on my Apple TV through AirPlay from my iPhone or Mac, I can sometimes control the volume from the source device.

    As an example, I was just playing a podcast on my iPhone on my way home from work. After arriving at home I transfered the audio to my Apple TV. I could not control the volume from my iPhone but instead had to use the Apple TV remote. I then switched over to playing the same podcast from my Mac and again transfered the audio output in the podcast app to my Apple TV. Now I can control the volume from within the Podcasts app on my Mac.

    I remember being able to control the volume from my iPhone as well, while using AirPlay. But only sometimes.

    Does anyone know why this is inconsistent or if there's a system to it that I haven't been able to figure out?

    Buying US TV shows in Australia?

    Hello everyone, I was wondering if it was posbiable to change the TV app (macOS) over to the US version and buy TV shows then change back to watch said programs

    Or would you get an error during payback about region?

    Network Lag on Everything Except Apple TV 4K

    I had a Roku 4K (the wireless only one), and recently bought an Apple TV 4K. The device itself works amazing, no stutters and good quality picture.

    My issue comes in where I get constant lag spikes on any other device on the network while the Apple TV is streaming, which was never an issue with the Roku. I've tried to have the Apple TV on wifi, ethernet, and ethernet through a gigabit switch, and none of these have helped to remedy the problem. Is there any settings or something I'm missing, as I don't believe this is an ISP problem since I had no issues when I used the Roku.

    I just got an ATV 4K today, I plugged hdmi into my HDMI switch where my Roku was before. And found out the only way I can get the picture to show up on screen is for another device that is hooked up to that same HDMI switch (my Nintendo Switch in this case), to be powered on. The moment it turns off, no picture from my Apple TV. Any ideas why this is suddenly a problem? Never happened with the Roku. Thanks!

    Music Library alternative

    We want to step off from iTunes for an alternative. With it all going to Apple Music it's not what we need anymore.

    The alternative must support:

    - tags (artist, album, BPM, Grouping, Comments)
    - Support AIFF Files and a library with 4TB of music.
    - if it works via a cloud storage it would be a big plus to sync to iOS devices.

    I Don't if someone has an idea.

    Things I already tried and did not work, PLEX(did not take our tags, buggy) , VOX (no tvos but maybe it's coming?), KODI (doesn't work on our Apple TV 3), Eltima (did not read the AIFF's),...

    Hopefully someone has an idea!

    Pair code shows up on my phone, not the tv

    I just picked up an Apple TV 2nd gen without a remote. I did the factory reset, but when I try to pair with my phone, the code is generated ON the phone, not the other way around. Since I don't have a remote I have no way to enter the code on the TV. Any ideas? Is my only option to now go out and buy the silver remote as well?

    Playlists created in TV app no longer "sort" order properly on AppleTV?

    Hopefully you can tell from the attached images that I've created two playlists that have been "sorted" to display by "date added".

    However, for the past couple of weeks the "Movie" playlist (top left) has been sorting the playlist by the first name of the films director (top right).

    And a second "smart" playlist that I created when the "Movie" playlist stopped sorting properly, worked for a while (bottom left), but now puts some new additions to the top (without director info metadata), but then resorts to sorting the playlist by the first name of the films director (bottom right). NOTE: I scrolled down this playlist to show where the sorting shifts.

    Nowhere in my TV app is sort by director selected. All apps and OS up to date. Model is Apple TV (4th generation).

    Any ideas? Thx!

    4th gen Apple TV won’t play sound when AirPlaying videos.

    Hey all. I recently bought a few movies from the Google Play Store (they weren't on iTunes/Netflix) and wanted the "full screen" experience. I decided to broadcast it to my Apple TV via AirPlay and, while the stream itself was fine, there was no sound. I made sure the volume was up on both devices and turned my phone off silent. I've used AirPlay with the Google Movies app before and the sound has shown up. Anyone know how to fix this?
