iOS 13.6 Dev beta has completely changed my iPhone X Posted: 10 Jun 2020 04:28 AM PDT It's crazy. I think they left out the throttling code or something. The whole phone is twice as fast as 13.5.1. Everything loads faster. Like a new phone. [link] [comments]

Custom notification sounds on WhatsApp and Telegram not available? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 07:30 AM PDT How to set up custom Notifications on Telegram/WhatsApp? Hi! I returned to iPhone after some time with Android and I'm in love again! But I have a little problem, after I sync my custom .m4r ringtones and notifications they do not appear on Telegram or WhatsApp. Those apps just show me default ringtones. My custom sounds are all selectable from iPhone sound menu and they work fine. Is this a limitation from Telegram and WhatsApp? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jun 2020 04:03 AM PDT My old android phone had the ability to use audible reminders, for example it would say out loud "check your tire pressure" at a specific time. I miss some reminders on my iPhone now because they are text only. Is there some app I can get on my iPhone that will do the same thing? I don't want to forget to buy my wife flowers! Don’t know if this is the best subreddit but... Posted: 10 Jun 2020 03:27 AM PDT I found a way to get pass-through listening like on AirPods Pro... without the AirPods Pro. Go to settings -> control centre -> customise controls. Add hearing to controls. To use the pass-through/ambient sound audio swipe up/down to control centre, long press on the hearing icon, and turn on live listening. Notes: I have only tried this on an iPhone 11 with the Powerbeats Pro headphones. I am unaware if this will work on all devices or headphones. [link] [comments]
Personal cloud storage needs testers/feedback Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:23 PM PDT Hi everyone! We need testers for our brand new app, Picsium personal cloud. Think of a way much simple Nextcloud, one that does not require any special dns or ip configuration. We give 1 year license to anyone who wishes to test (feedback is appreciated!). Just DM me and I will hand you the license key. What you need to do to get Picsium up and running: 1. Install the Picsium Storage app on your PC. Get it from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/picsium/9n389vrcklrb 2. Get the app here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/picsium/id1499381948; For any questions, we're here! Thanks! What should I do if an App didn't match the description?? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 02:30 AM PDT So... I bought an app for $8 a while back which was supposed to allow me to use my iPad as a second screen for my laptop (Like Sidecar). The app in the description stated that it would give "High Performance (1080P or Retina Display at 60FPS)". However, the app hardly works, and the app keep disconnecting with the laptop, and while connected gives a horrible (10fps~) experience. I tried to request a refund, but I now found that this app has now become free (Splashtop Wired XDisplay). This was an issue since the field in the "request a refund" area required the price for the receipt, which returned a "No results found" when inputted. I was planning to call Apple tomorrow, trying to see what they could say about the issue, hoping they could shine some light on this situation since the website itself isn't working as well. I will go ahead with this, however, I'm just wondering what you guys think I should do in this situation?? I'm open to all suggestions, and am just wondering since I've never been in a situation like this on iOS (It's happened on Android, and I just requested a refund within the Play Store itself) [link] [comments]
Looking for an app to organise my backlog of entertainment Posted: 10 Jun 2020 12:03 AM PDT You know, to keep track of the things I'd like to experience, sort them in various ways, mark that I've played/watched a thing, write some notes. I see this as desired functionality, but maybe this isn't optimal, and I'd welcome any suggestions: -to create different boards in it - for games, shows, movies and books, and separate each into consumed/not consumed -be able to make a bunch of entries that you could sort based on several values (like title and score) -be able to attach a picture to each entry -be able to assign at least two ratings - of expectation vs final score -be able to write some thoughts on the thing Haven't found a dedicated app for this, but maybe there's some general purpose software? Google passwords user on iOS? Here's a workaround. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:18 PM PDT If you're relying on Google ecosystem on iOS (yes, some people use iPads and Windows PCs), you can access your Google passwords in a few steps. You need to, 1- open Safari, go to passwords.google.com, and add a shortcut to home screen. 2- save your Google credentials in iCloud keychain. When you need to obtain a password, 1- open the passwords.google.com shortcut. 2- auto fill your Google password, face id or fingerprint. 3- copy or view your password of choice. Particularly useful with some apps or when not using chrome. Enjoy! [link] [comments]
[Discussion] Anyone who hates the HOME BAR and thinks it should be removed on iOS 14? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:19 PM PDT Hello friends, I'm an iPhone 11 user and I think one of the things that's useless to the iOS is the Home Bar. I know it's a guide for the swipe up gesture but I don't think it's necessary to be there all the time. We see the guide/tutorials when you first open your phone from being brand new, or freshly updated OS but I think it consumes too much space of the screen. The gap between the bezel and the apps are way ugly to look at. What are your thoughts? I just hope in the next OS they can add a switch button to turn it off. :-) [link] [comments]
Is there an update notifier for iOS? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:26 PM PDT Like a Reddit bot or something to let me know when a new iOS version is available? [link] [comments]
You can slide the volume bar that appears when you press one of the physical volume buttons. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:24 PM PDT I just found that out! I thought it was only a representation of the phone's volume level, but it turns out it's a volume control, too! So if you want to change your phone's volume a lot, instead of pressing the volume up/down button a ton of times, you can just press it once then slide the volume bar. Found that out totally by accident. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:23 PM PDT why is ios's hotspot so dysfunctional compared to any other phone ive tried? if im not using a device for more than a minute or so it disconnects it from the hotspot and i have to pull up the actual hotspot screen to reconnect. You'd think think they'd up one on android in this department but my s9 works as a much better hotspot for my ipad and macbook. probably going to switch back to samsung phones... again [link] [comments]
