    Family Sharing: Do apps on “child” account get shared with family?

    So I bought Minecraft for my son's apple account, but I found out afterwards that I can do Family Sharing to let other associated accounts have the app too. So if Minecraft is on a "child" account, and I set up my account as the "parent" account, will Minecraft be available for sharing? Or does it only work for apps purchased on the "parent" account?     iPod Nano 7th Generation not connecting to iTunes

    My iPod nano 7th generation, that I've had for about 5 years, has worked completely fine with my same windows laptop, until just last week. When I plug it in now, it says "An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly."

    The iPod's screen shows it's connected and syncing and then iTunes dismounts it and it goes back to the home screen.

    This is hella annoying, and I would like to fix this as I regularly use and add music to my iPod. Is this an issue with hardware or drivers? For added information, I connect it to my laptop with the same lightning cable in the same USB port that I use to add music to my iPhone 7, which works completely fine.

    This is a huge pain in the ass. Are there any fixes??

    when i try to save a live photo as a video, the photos app crashes, iphone xr

    so i took a lot of love photos today, and i was looking up how to convert them to videos to make a montage, well i found if you hit the share button and scroll down it says "save as video" so i tried it and the app crashed, i figured that was odd and tried it again, and again, i restarted my phone and it still does it hours later... help?

    I've done everything I can from the following options of putting the volume button up, down, and hitting the side button-apple logo shows up briefly and then goes back to the support.apple restore thing, what other option do I have?!

    Need to add a new router to Airport network - help!

    Hi all.

    I have used and loved my Airport network forever. Well, now I have moved to a new place and need to extend my network. I have three Airport Express base stations running my network, with one attached to my cable modem and the other two extending.

    I know I can buy a used Airport easy enough. I've had mixed (33% good/67% bad) reults with that in the past. But mainly I'd like to get an outdoor router to have coverage on my deck.

    I HATE the idea of using a non-Airport product because I've been using them for so long, I love the ease and all that. But my question is: is there a non-Apple, weatherproof router that will work with my existing Airport network as seamlessly as possible (I'm not an IT network professional)? Or should I roll the dice and get another refurbished/used Airport and hope that it works as I expect (and make some kind of outdoor enclosure)?

    iPad virus pop up and mystery app in settings causes my to worry about Apple ID and iPhone

    So a few days back I was browsing safari while on my iPad, I got a pop up that said "your iPhone has been infected with 39 viruses, if you don't remove them your sim and photos will be deleted, click to delete." I clicked close and it took me to a new page that said I had 2 minutes or else my photos and sim will be deleted, and the only way to delete them would be to go to the AppStore and download their app. Well I didn't download their app and I closed the tab immediately. I went to settings and noticed an app that was just called (null), I couldn't open the app any its picture was the blank app logo with the lines. Again I couldn't see this app on my home screen. Some people say it's nothing but one person said that it was malicious. I also saw that my AppStore had 5 notifications so I checked and their were 3 apps that needed an update so I just deleted them but to my surprise the AppStore now said I had 3 notifications. Anyway I decided to reset my iPad because if null was malicious I didn't want it to infect the Apple ID and spread to my iPhone.

    So after the reset I set my iPad up like a new ipad but this time I disabled the option that says something like transmit data back to Apple or something. So when it's all set up I go to settings and (null) isn't there. I decide to rename my ipad in my name because I do not own the Apple account. So when I check the Apple account on my phone which I share with the iPad, I see the iPad (which I set up in my name) still says it's in the person who owns the Apple accounts name. At this point I start to worry because I'm thinking that anything malicious on my iPad could have spread to the Apple account and now it's only a matter of time for it to get to the other devices. And the fact that i have encountered some (not a lot) of bugs on my phone and on some apps like reddit isn't helping to reassure me. And because of me fearing that my devices are hacked because of this, these bugs along with the iPad name thing and (null) make me think that it's too late. I haven't jail broken my iPad or my iPhone. But I'm still afraid that my iPad, iPhone, and the Apple ID are compromised.

    Because of all of this I have been a little paranoid lately every is making me think my devices have been compromised. I'm afraid to use my iPad, every notification makes me suspicious, I don't keep any apps open, etc. I'm also fearing for the accounts that I use on my phone. So what's going on, is everything ok and I'm just worked up over nothing? What is (null)? How can I change the name of the iPad (again I changed the name in settings but that doesn't work)? Is the Apple ID ok? Are my accounts ok? Is my phone ok? And if everything is normal and my devices and the Apple ID are ok, how can I stop being so paranoid.

    Edit: what is null, and how can I change the name of the iPad (again I already changed it in settings but when I check the Apple ID it still says the previous name)

    Hi! My dad recently took apart his MacBook Pro A1708 13". And when he finished reassembling it the keyboard doesn't work. I can use an external keyboard with it, but I don't know why the original keyboard doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

    Dreaded FOLDER with ? On boot

    So, a friend gave me his MBP (13" Core 2 Duo) mid 2009. When I go to boot, I get the folder with ? I've tried all button combos to try and get it to hoot and have been unsuccessful. Can't seem to find the answer after reading countless threads on this. Am I doing something wrong? I've also been unable to download any OS to usb to try that. I'd really appreciate any help you could throw at me!

    Is there any way to find a time stamp on Safari's history? after doing some googling I went to the library->caches->metadata->safari->history and my time stamps for some reason stop on January 31, 2020. Is there another way to find the time stamp for my history? Also why does my history stop on January 31st? thanks

    Broke my iPhone XS, bought new iPhone 11 and I’m having trouble setting up

    My old phone (iPhone XS) is water damaged and stuck in a bootloop. I've tried basically everything to get it to turn on, including restoring it, but nothing has worked. I accepted defeat and purchased a new phone with Verizon, however I am having troubles setting up my phone because my old one can not turn on. I get to the Apple ID log in but I have two factor verification on. because my old phone won't turn on, I can not receive text messages to it to go through with the process. I started the account recovery for my Apple ID, waited 24 hours and now it's saying it will take 5 days. I'm not really sure what to do or how I can activate my phone line onto this new phone with the old phone being a goner. Surely they must have something in place for when people lose their phones and have to set up a new one without having the old one? Getting very frustrated as this has been an issue since Tuesday.

    Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks, guys.

    Just an FYI, not a question per se, about Sidecar.

    My current setup is a 2017 15.4" MBP with Catalina, and an iPad Pro 9.7" with the latest iPadOS. I'm working from home, and use Cisco AnyConnect to VPN into my workplace. I have discovered that Sidecar won't work while the VPN is active. It tells me that it's timed out when I attempt to start it from my Mac. I don't know if anyone else has ever seen this, but I thought I would share. Feel free to chime in if you've seen this behavior.

    So this is a strange one, it started yesterday.

    I checked the time zone on my phone, and it said it was 7 hours later than it really was. Upon checking my settings, I saw that my time zone had automatically set to "Etc/GMT-1". Problem is, my time zone should be Denver, which is Mountain Daylight Time in GMT-6 (and I realize that the difference between GMT-1 and GMT-6 should only be 5 hours, but nonetheless, my clock is 7 hours fast). I can turn off automatic time zone and set it manually and it's all good, but every time I turn it back on, it goes back to being 7 hours fast.

    My location in Maps is totally accurate, so my phone knows where I am.

    I've tried restating, and I saw there was an update to 13.5.1, but no matter what I do, this problem doesn't go away. It's very strange.

    Any ideas?

    How to see the apps installed via backup?

    Hello. What I want to know is whether I can see the apps I have installed in my phone. I don't have access to an iPhone anymore but I have a backup saved on my PC. Is there a third party program that allows me to see all the apps installed in it? I'd also like to see my purchase history, is that even possible without the phone?

    Managing Photo Libraries Between iCloud, Macbook and iPhone XS

    I do not consider myself technologically inept, but the concept of photos between my Mac, iCloud, and iPhone is one I struggle to wrap my head around.

    Ideally, I would like to have my Mac as the official final storage of all long-term photos. My iPhone would have a selection of saved photos as well as recents, and iCloud would simply be the back up for my iPhone until any long-term photos have been transferred to my Mac.

    What is the best way to set this up and manage it? Additionally, once photos have been transferred to my Mac can I freely delete them from iCloud and iPhone? (I'm aware that currently deleting photos from my phone will remove them from iCloud)

    Macbook bluetooth mouse lag SOLUTION

    After dealing with this for months, I've finally found the reason why my bluetooth mouse lags!

    I'm always connected to the 2.4 GHz wifi in my house and whenever I start a youtube video or join a conference call, my tracking becomes absolute garbage. I just thought that my macbook's performance sucked and it was throttling.

    But I recently found out that my bluetooth mouse and many other bluetooth devices could have their connection interfered with 2.4 GHz waves. After some testing, my mouse NEVER lags while I'm on my 5GHz wifi. Doesn't matter if I have 20 chrome tabs open, in a zoom meeting, and watching a youtube video. On the other hand I can consistently replicate the lag while on 2.4 GHz.

    Been dealing with this for a year, but never thought of this simple solution until now! Just thought this might help someone because I have not seen any posts on reddit that directly instruct you to switch your wifi to 5GHz.

    TLDR: The 2.4GHz wifi is causing the lag. Switch to 5GHz wifi.

    What issues have you had with your Macbook to have it replaced with Applecare+?

    For anyone who has used their applecare+ to replace their macbook, what issues did you have to have it replaced for a new one?

    I have a Macbook Air (13-inch, 2017) and it has a few persistent issues, but I'm not sure if I can use my apple care + (which expires in a month) to have it replaced or fixed. I went in a few months ago for these problems and they just did a few tests but said to come back at a later time if I was still having them.

    Problems at this time include:

    • muffled/staticky sound when headphones or airpods are used

    • the fan starts blowing very loudly if more than one application is open at the same time

    • lagging if it is not plugged in or if the battery life is under 80%

    • screen randomly turns black in the middle of use for multiple minutes

    iPhone 11 Camera and flashlight aren’t working.

    The front camera works fine, the problem is the back camera, it only shows black screen and the camera app crashes when I try to record or take a photo, the wide lens works fine as well. The flashlight is not working neither in the camera app or outside the camera app.
