    Apple MacBook Pro 2016+ with touchbar 15” Flexgate/Stagelight lawsuit

    Hello! I'm posting here to make light of the flexgate and stage light issues on the 15" 2016+ MacBook Pro's. I found an article with a lawsuit(again) but this one actually includes the 15" Pros! I've called the Parris Law Firm to confirm the information and have decided to be apart of it. It does not cost either. They asked questions like when did the problem start, did I buy the item new, did I purchase apple care, the amount Apple wants to fix it, OR have I fixed it. They are trying to help find a solution and fix similar to the 13" and also recuperating the loses of people who paid almost 1k to fix it.

    For the people that don't know, this problem was fixed in the 2018+ models. They added a longer cord so it's less stress with opening it. Apple care has now needed on the 2016 models and will be ending for the 2017 models this year- the only fix is a $795 repair and a 90 day warranty after that on a laptop that is VERY expensive.

    I've attached the link to the lawsuit and they've gotten people from about 10 states and want more people to speak up. Please speak up if this has happened to you. I know everyone's situation is different especially financially but these products are premium and very expensive. Just like they fixed the keyboard, they need to fix this screen. Especially if they addressed it In the 13" and they use the same connector.

    My Iphone XR will randomly freeze. It happens for about a minute and nothing will work (including the off button). It will then return to the lock screen.

    What happened to all of my App Update History? It suddenly disappeared. Recently I opened the App Store to check for updates for my apps but all the history was gone. It's just blank like no apps have ever been updated. What happened? It couldn't be the outage last night, could it?

    Parallels Dekstop Ubuntu is slow in fullscreen

    I used Parallels Desktop and installed Ubuntu. I upped the ram to 4gb with 4 processors. I am running a Macbook Pro 15 in 2016 with i7 and 16gb of ram. So far using the parallel in fullscreen makes it so laggy any tips?

    New iCloud for Windows and latest version Windows 10, no ability to batch download photos

    The new iCloud for Windows is a hot mess. It changed the directory for iCloud photos from Pictures/iCloud Photos/Downloads to Pictures/iCloud Photos/Photos. But doesn't organize the photos at all, so no organization by year. Thumbnails need to be regenerated. And the photos aren't actually on your local drive, they're still up in the cloud. AFAICT there is no way to download them besides going through them one by one in a local viewer. I do have the latest and greatest Windows 10 (v2004, not 1909).

    I am hoping someone can tell me I am wrong. I created a ticket with Apple, but they could do nothing but tell me to fill out the Apple feedback form. This seems unlikely to result in timely action.

    I've got 4 Apple products in use, so not strictly a Windows user. But I also have 2 PCs (a laptop and a homebuilt), plus a NAS. Apple makes it exceedingly difficult to work outside of their ecosystem, which makes it hard to have diversified backups/access to our Apple-generated content.

    Any advice? I just want to download my photos so if I lose internet I'm not cut off. It's not a crazy ask.

    TL;DR: iCloud for Windows used to allow downloading of photo library, now only does it on demand, no batch downloads.

    What happened to the pictures

    So I had 8 gb of pictures on my phone and I synced it with iTunes on my computer and now they only take up 3.5 gb but all my pictures are there. So what happened?

    Hi there,

    I purchased a 2020 Macbook air i3 dual core, 16gb RAM about a month ago. In the past 2.5 weeks, it has crashed 3 times. By crashed I mean it freezes for a few seconds then restarts (basically jumps back to the user login page). When it restarts though it doesn't give me any pop-ups about why it crashed.

    It's usually when Im using google chrome with a bunch of tabs open, maybe running a few more apps such as Spotify, Microsoft word, mail, Whatsapp, Netflix with a few other stuff opened at the same time. I tend to have a bad habit of keeping things running when I'm not using it but its just the way I use laptops... Is it normal for it to crash from this? I guess I feel like it should be able to handle all of theses tasks since it's still a brand new Macbook, and its not like Im running heavier apps like video editing etc.

    When it crashed today, i was running those apps along with twitch on safari and it crashed when I tried to full screen Netflix. Would you guys say I wouldn't have this problem if i had a i5 instead of an i3, or am I just going too crazy with the apps. I called apple today and the guy helped me hard restart it and to see how it is for the next few days. He said it should be crashing like that since its still brand new.

    The system is updated to the latest software: MacOS Catalina 10.15.5

    update: it deleted ALL of my music from my iphone and won't let me restor from a backup. please help lmao i'm about to have a full mental breakdown. most of this music is my own music or music that friends made and none of us have access to the original files any more.

    Okay so I just got a new macbook and I have noooo idea how to use this new "Music" it looks totally different from iTunes. I can not for the life of me figure out how to put the songs I downloaded from my friend onto my phone. It says to disable Cloud Music Library but I don't see that literally anywhere in any of my settings on any device??

    I'm so frustrated. My songs are precious to me because a lot of them are songs my friends have recorded or that I have recorded & no longer have access to the original files so I can't lose them.

    Safari won’t load a page

    I'm having issues getting into Hulu's account management page. It will start loading but the browser will go to a white screen. Is it Hulu? Or is it Apple? I really want to watch stuff!

    Is mac app store phasing out support of previous versions of mac os?

    I'm on Mojave — just one version behind the current mac os. I've noticed recently many apps no longer would install, and I'd get a message saying 10.15 is required. I wonder if it's a fluke or if app store started encouraging developers to drop support of previous versions.

    PS For those curious, I'm not upgrading because: (1) my work environment (IT-related field) is set up with Mojave, and upgrading yearly is too disruptive, and (2) if I upgrade, reminders will no longer sync with my iphone 6 which I am not planning to upgrade because it works perfectly fine and is only 4 years old.
