| Magnetic car mount with wireless charging? Posted: 22 May 2020 09:24 PM PDT I really badly want to get a magnetic car mount that also will do wireless charging for my 2020 iPhone SE. I don't mind if I have to purchase a case with it - I was looking into getting the Mous case but unfortunately they don't have a car mount that charges the phone while attached. Has anyone found a way to do this? I'm not having any luck searching for one that doesn't seem sketchy/low quality. Thanks and sorry if there's a better place to post this. [link] [comments]  |

I used boost mobile and switched to a new service provider that uses Verizon's band(s?) and i was wondering what i should do with the old device?, the iPhone that i used wasn't compatible because it was a specific sprint/boost model, it still says boost in the corner for my service i have been using it a lot still. i did get my number ported to a new sim on a new iPhone as well as had boost unlock my old phone. (before i knew it was incompatible to use on the verizon towers sadly) would it be a bad idea to get rid of the old sim? I have turned cellular off when i use it. is there any way i would get charged from boost for using it? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 22 May 2020 06:59 PM PDT I was trying to replace my iPhone 7 battery and the adhesive strips broke so I had to use the pry method. Once I had it back together I noticed this was disconnected in the process and possibly damaged. I was able to get it back fastened but then when I turned on the iPhone it was in boot loop mode and I could not find any other solution at the time but to restore the entire thing. It was able to restore but then following the restore it was still in boot loop mode. So then I unhooked that piece that is circled and it came on like a new phone and I was able to install an iCloud back up from yesterday. However it does not have a phone connection and it says no Sim card installed. It also does not have microphone functionality and possibly a few other things do not work. The phone isn't completely back together yet because I would like to get it fully functional before putting it all together. I also do not think it needed to be restored, but with that that piece connected it stays in boot loop mode. I did not know this at the time. Does anybody know what that is connecting? Yes I regret doing this myself. I never thought switching the battery would give me so much trouble. Thanks for the help. [link] [comments]  |

| Calendar/contacts disappeared - any way to recover? Posted: 22 May 2020 05:27 PM PDT All, thanks in advance for any help; I've got an iPhone 6 with 12.4.4. Purchased in 2014 in the US for personal use. As of like midnight last night, everything was fine. When I woke up this morning my calendar (I use the Apple default app) was gone and so were almost all of my contacts. Things I've looked at: I am still signed in on the iPhone. I checked and all the calendars are clicked to show in the app - just now only the holidays have anything. (The other options besides Holidays are Work and Home; not sure what I used before but it was just whatever the default was.) Checked iCloud, only to discover that my phone wasn't backing up to iCloud :( —- Things I have not done: Signed out and back in to my phone (don't want to lose my safari tabs and I don't know if they're part of the backup I did earlier today or if signing out will lost them; concerned that logging out & in will "lock in" the problem). There is also my concern that signing out will apparently delete, like everything? I can restore from a backup, but won't that just leave me in the position I'm in? Updated to the newest iOS (also concerned that updating will "lock in" the problem) Restored from iCloud (apparently my phone hasn't been backing up to iCloud; yay) —- Things I'm not sure about: My most recent backup was from 2/1 - is there any way to restore just the calendar and contacts from that backup, or is it an all or nothing thing? Thanks again! ETA: Since this happened, I just tried to add something to my calendar and noticed that it picks "Work" as default. I'm all but positive that wasn't the case before. Was there something other than "Work" or "Home" that I could have been adding to? The phone also logged me out of Twitter but not any other app I've noticed. [link] [comments]  |
| iPhone XR: Fell in water for ~5 seconds and now receiver/ear speaker is muffled Posted: 22 May 2020 09:01 AM PDT I dropped my phone briefly in water twice (total time of submergence was ~5 seconds-ish) and everything seems fine except for the receiver/ear speaker (tangentially, what's the proper term for this?). Now when I receive a phone call, everything is a bit muffled/tinny. When I tried looking up some solutions, most sources (even Apple's support site), focuses on the main speaker/mic, but not the ear receiver portion. Other than leaving the phone out to dry, is there anything I can do right now to fix this? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 22 May 2020 09:26 AM PDT iCloud Photo Library is a godsend. But I just upgraded my 8+ to a XS Max yesterday from 64 GB to a 256 GB. How do I "download" my library and have everything on local storage ? The worst feeling is when you try to show someone a old picture/video on you're phone and it doesn't load because you have no connection.
