| Posted: 12 May 2020 11:13 PM PDT Hello everyone, I have been facing slow internet issues on my iPhone XS and iPhone 6. When I check the speed with other android devices connected to the same network the speed is exactly what I was promised by ISP (60 Mbps). I also get the same speed when checking it from my Laptop. When I run a speed test on any one of my iPhone, I only get 6 to 7 Mbps. Worst part is, my ping latency shows 3 or 4 ms on my iPhone but I still struggle to play online games coz it keeps disconnecting. I have tried forgetting the network but doesn't seem to have worked for me. Anything you can suggest which might help. P.S : I have tried resetting my iPhone 6 as well but no gain. | FaceTime Calls not making a sound? Posted: 12 May 2020 08:11 PM PDT Phone: IPhone 11 Pro Max I got a new iPhone, switched it over from my old iPhone (7Plus). I started having a problem last night with it, where I would call someone on FaceTime and there was no sound, it would take forever and end up saying that the person is not available (when they are). Happened today when I tried to call my friend multiple times on FaceTime but it keeps doing that all of the sudden (it was working earlier just fine). I'm just wondering why it does that? why it doesn't make a sound when calling? My volume is always up, ringer is always on, I don't have anything muted or that "do not disturb" stuff. I'm a very simple person. So yes, if anyone knows the reason I would gladly appreciate it! If it's a bigger problem then I thought then I'll just switch it due to technical problems. I restarted routerer. I restarted phone. I restarted network settings. I turned airplaine mode on/off. I turned off wifi networking in privacy settings. I have latest ios. But what I'm asking is about is probably related to the infamous touch ID error which i heard about when screen gets replaced back in 2016. | Restoring as much as possible to new iPhone with new Apple ID Posted: 12 May 2020 07:20 AM PDT I am getting a new iPhone. The iPhone is backed up so I had thought it would have been as simple as plugging the new iPhone in, restoring from backup and swapping out the SIM card. Unfortunately, for reasons too complex to get into here, the new iPhone must have a new Apple ID and I can't simply restore from backup. To what extent and how, after I get this new iPhone can I move as much as possible from my old iPhone/backup? I have done some googling and it seems that I can log in to the app store with my old Apple ID - but do I have to restore all the apps individually? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 12 May 2020 02:10 PM PDT So my mom dropped her iPhone 11 one to many times.... now the phone only powers on but can't be unlocked or backed up to a computer. The LCD screen shows a display but has zero function. She wants to keep all of the information and transfer it to a new iPhone via iCloud but I can't grant access to my computer via the phone because it needs to be unlocked, also Apple doesn't offer an option to backup a phone online via iCloud. I've called Apple, local places around that fix phones, and our service provider. They all have given me the same answer "we can get you a new phone" or "we can't repair it". I'm wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem and if so what did you do to either fix the phone, transfer the data, or back up the information to put it onto a new phone. Thanks! Tried taking off case, cleaning the phone, turning down volume, restart, all to no avail. Issue is whenever using speakerphone on facetime or a call, I hear my own voice half a second later. | Posted: 12 May 2020 12:00 PM PDT Hi there, I used to have a 32gb iPhone 7 with half my photos stored in the cloud. I have now transferred everything onto my new iPhone 11. How do I transfer these from the cloud and onto my phone storage. I got this message when I tried to do it but don't want to delete anything. "This iPhone was not able to download 2,000 full resolution photos and videos. If you continue, the low resolution versions of these photos will be removed" Just want to clarify that by going to setting, photos and turning off iCloud photos it will download the photos in full resolution but delete the blurry version. | Switch Control would not stop when triple-click the Home button Posted: 12 May 2020 07:43 AM PDT The only ways for it to stop is to wait for it to finish however much time I had pressed. or press sleep button and the turn back on, but this seems very buggy, like sometimes it will stop sometimes it will require me to triple click again. This happens after updating iOS to 13.4.1. Anyone else has the same issue? I also have Haptic issue, which someone told me it's a bug. sigh, I use switch control quite often so this is a bummer. | Recover data from before factory reset Posted: 12 May 2020 05:40 AM PDT Before I start, I'm an idiot and I've learnt my lesson, please don't tell me this, I know. My last backup was from about a year ago on my old phone. My 11's memory was full and I've been backing up videos slowly to dropbox. I was trying to delete stuff to clear out the memory yesterday morning but it wasn't responding so I tried to restart it, this sent it into a boot loop. Tried all the tricks to get it out but it would only stop while I was holding the power button after force restart (spent all day doing this). A message came up on the screen to connect to a computer and gave the link to support.apple. something or other so I followed it. Went to itunes and it said it would download the latest ios and try to fix it, but that if that didn't work I would need to do a factory reset, clicked okay and it went straight into a factory reset but I didn't realise what it was doing (it said it was 'restoring' and my stupid ass thought it was restoring ios). In a panic I set it to load the last backup I had which turned out to be the one from over a year ago. Is there anything I can do to recover my original files? I'm willing to do pretty much anything at this point. Illegal, costly, whatever, I don't care. This thing had pictures of my dead grandmother, lost pets, people and pets I'm stuck 300 miles away from in this lockdown. | Downloading and Updating on the App store is SO SLOW Posted: 12 May 2020 12:32 AM PDT I have an app update on my iphone 6 and i updated it for about 1 hour but when I checked it the circle doesnt move at all. My Data connection is solid fast I can browse and watch yt but the downloading/updating process is so slow anyone know what's the problem?
