    Have a case with Apple open and just received the box to send my MBP out to them in Carlisle, PA

    Called Apple the other day regarding the keyboard markings on my screen and sticky keys sometimes (not actually sticky but types the same letter twice)
    Was cleaning my screen the other day with a microfiber when I noticed some markings that would not come off

    Person I spoke with was aware of Staingate but could not find the repair program in their system anymore, so he put my device under the keyboard program but made notes about the issues with my screen

    Just wanted to ask you guys if this if what I'm seeing is the screen delamination that is Staingate
    It was kind of hard to get photos of it, so these are the best angles I could get of the keyboard imprints on the screen

    Apple USB keyboard do not work properly. Some keys works fine but some of them shows completely different letters or symbols. For example 'k' button print 'k7' and a lot more. This is keyboard with numeric pad and macbook pro '16

    Hi, My question is as per the title.

    Can anyone orient me in the right direction for this? I have chronic pain issues and if i could use a gamepad to control a mouse pointer i would be able to work for longer periods without pain or discomfort. I plug the controller in but it doesnt move the mouse for me so i guess i need some sort of software for that?

    My MacBook Pro won't update to the latest version

    I have a MacBook Pro OS X El Capitan (not sure how much of that is useful.) I am currently on version 10.11.6 and it tells me there are no updates for it or any of the applications. I tried restarting it, I reconnected my account to the app store, but it still says there are no updates. I want to download Microsoft Word from the app store, but it tells me I need version 10.13 or later, which is how I noticed the problem in the first place. Any help is appreciated.

    Apple ID Email not available

    Question : if I deleted my Apple ID permanently, does that mean the Email associated with that ID can no longer be used to create, nor be used as secondary for another Apple ID ?? If there is a way to free up that Email to use please share it with me. Thank you !!

    Iphone wont stay connected to my macbook

    I currently have an Iphone 8 plus running 13.3.1 and a macbook air (i'm not sure of the year, but at least three years old) running the latest version of catalina (just updated it today). This is a problem i've had for probably around a year now.

    When I try to connect my phone to the laptop via a usb cable, it will take a second to connect, then it will disconnect a second later, only to reconnect another second later, on repeat. I will note that the first time it happened the disconnecting and reconnecting seemed to happen much more rapidly, at fractions of a second, now it takes about a second.

    I can't do anything that requires me to have my phone connected to my computer (like syncing music) when it is like this. It happens regardless of the chord that I use. I also have tried resetting the location and privacy setting on my iphone, nothing happened. Please someone help me, im getting so upset.

    Webcam not working after updating to Catalina?

    I updated to Catalina today and I'm having an issue with my webcam that I haven't used before. It's a stereotypical 80 dollar webcam I bought off of Amazon over a month ago. I have to record for work purposes and anytime I try and record, I'll press start recording and my webcam will turn on then turn off. This only happened after updating. Previously I've never had an issue with it.

    I've already restarted applications and the computer and that one where you unplug the computer and restart.

    I'm just stuck on how to fix this?

    Apple Watch won't connect to my phone

    My dad's series 2 apple watch won't pair to my phone using the scan or manual pairing but it pairs just fine to my mom and sister's phones. I tried apple support but they were unable to help me. maybe someone here can.

    Is there a way to add mp3s saved on my phone to iTunes?

    I do not have a laptop/desktop at the moment, I am strictly mobile. I have lectures saved on my iPhone as mp3s. I can still play them, but for organizations sake I would like to add them to my iTunes library. Is this possible?

    As the title says, I'd like to find a way (or several ways) to interrupt Siri after VoiceOver has been activated.

    The other day I had Siri start reading the Navy Seal copypasta out loud, which was hilarious until someone unfamiliar with it walked in and heard it. I explained what it was but they probably still think I'm mental. Doesn't help that I am in fact an Iraq veteran :-/

    Code Signing my macOS App

    I need help code signing my simple macOS App for distribution outside the Mac App Store.

    Wrote with AppleScript on Mojave 10.14.6 using Script Editor, saved as an Application. Packaged it as a compressed read-only DMG. I plan on using DropDMG to sign the disk image using a Developer ID Application certificate.

    Levels of Signing

    A macOS app distributed outside the Mac App Store will generally have 3–4 separate layers of signing:

    1. The app itself will be code signed by Xcode after it's compiled.
    2. If the app has an installer, the package file will be signed using an installer certificate.
    3. The disk image containing the app or installer will be signed using an application certificate. (This is the part DropDMG handles.)
    4. The disk image will be submitted to Apple for notarization, and then have a ticket stapled to it.

    Based on the above levels of signing, I've only planned for #3. How do I code sign MyApp.app itself #1? I'm not using XCode at all and have no experience with it. Most online guides I come across talks about having XCode take care of it.

    What is the simplest method?

    1. Terminal > codesign is last resort from what I've read.

    2. Another tool I came across is App Wrapper but its only for signing the DMG?

    3. Recommendations please?

    I have an ipod touch 5g which I used all throughout my high school career and have a bunch of photos saved on it. Seeing as how I peaked in high school, I would very much like to recover those photos. Somewhere along the road I changed the passcode to something that I could not remember and now I am stuck on the "disabled connect to itunes" screen. I have the macbook it was originally synced to (mid 2011), but the HD shit the bed a few years back. Not entirely sure what occurred, but I was recently able to boot it up, but at the cost of deleting everything on the drive and it seems to run fine now. I've since downloaded the free version of diskdrill and recovered as much as I could, but I'm not sure where to look to find old macbook backups or even a usable backup from the ipod itself. Can anyone recommend anything that could unlock this ipod without deleting the data currently stored on it?

    MacBook Pro 13" or 16" for Adobe Suite, Unreal, and Unity

    Hey there! I recently lost my job and with that my work computer. I've been a Mac user forever and I'm looking to buy a new one to be able to do contract work. Mostly I will be using Photoshop, but potentially also software like Unity, Unreal, and After Effects.

    Now, there's a big price difference (about $1000) between the MacBook Pro 13" and 16" base models.

    My question is: will there be a significant difference between the two models for my use case? Is it worth spending the extra grand or does the 13" suffice for my needs?

    Need MacBook recommendations for college please help

    I want a MacBook for college but I'm not sure what to get! I need spec recommendations. Max price is 1800 at the VERY maximum. Only a business degree so Mac will be used for having multiple windows open, Spotify, watching movies, just every day stuff. Help is appreciated as I have heard of 2020 models having thermal issues.

    Hi everyone, My iPhone XS Max 13.3.1 kept saying iCloud storage was full so I upgraded it to 200gb or so and was using about 80gb. I deleted some personal apps from my phone seeing that they were backed up in the iCloud and expecting the data to still be there whenever I decide to redownload the apps but now it says that I'm only using about 20gb. So did iCloud delete the data that was in those apps and is there anyway I can get it back? Please and thank you!

    Google app security on Apple devices

    So from what i've been reading it looks like iOS is more secure than Android since Android is open source.

    My question is, how about Google apps like Chrome, Gmail, Drive, etc. ? Are they secure themselves ?

    I use an Iphone & iPad and i like using Gmail & Drive but i am also concerned about security. Should i be switching to the Apple alternative of these apps ?

    iPhone disabled - need help!

    Earlier today I changed my iPhone (XR) passcode from a 4 digit to a 6 digit (a longer variation of the same passcode that I use daily in multiple applications). After I entered the new passcode and confirmed it, I set my phone down. A minute later when I picked it up, the passcode (now asking for 6 digits instead of 4) did not work. Long story short, I now have an iPhone that is only saying "iPhone disabled, connect to iTunes" and after a runaround with Apple support, they're saying my only option is a restore and a total loss of all photos and data on my phone. PLEASE help me find another way around this

    Hi!

    Im a graphic designer and I recently switched from a windows to a Mac. I have a 15 inch, i9, 16 ram, 2019 MacBook Pro.
    I manly use Photoshop and Illustrator. I also use a dropbox a lot with smart sync to free up space.

    But as you can see, my Mac tells me I have 800 GBS OF DOCUMENTS!!!! when my Mac only has 500 GB of storage!!!! https://imgur.com/RseRWZw you can see at the top it says I have 838 documents files but you go down and add up all those folder numbers its about 270GB!

    How? is it temporary photoshop files? maybe dropbox is not correctly syncing the files to online only?
